    Or you can buy a real skipping rope from Kmart for $2. Seriously this must of been one of the worst ideas of 2013. Why not just jump if you want to burn calories

      I don't know, I'm scraping for positives. Seems like a pretty naff idea.

      Still, people pay big money for machines to go for an indoor virtual walk or virtual bike ride, rather than going outside and doing the real thing. Marketing to agoraphobics?

      Avoids tripping on the rope if tired or just not so co-ordinated, but the other suggestion below works :P :) (cut the rope off a $2 skipping rope)
