Audio Technica ATH-M50 (Coiled Cable) is $113 delivered here

    • -3

$10 cheaper for the coiled cable- seems like a great deal, although I'd prefer the straight cable, but not for $10 more.

AD700 cheaper here - $102 delivered. (and shipping is fast)

Not the colour you'd want to wear on a bloke though.

    • +1

      good price
however is it a reputable store
There is alot of fake replica's Audio Technica's out their
No ABN on website, are they operating outside australia in china or hong kong as they can offer very cheap shipping rates no where near the more expensive austpost rates

99.2% feedback, they are legit- you can pay abit more through ebay/paypal and get protection. But I found there service just fine through the website.

Im sure they are operating outside AU, to avoid GST, etc.

biggest thing is postage time- (2 weeks amazon)

i personally would buy from Amazon due to their customer service and they tend to look after you if your headphones get faulty within the first 12 months if you push them a little bit.

I had them send me a new pair of headphones when the ones i got were slightly bent (? manufacture fault) and they told me to keep the old ones. They also refunded me for some leather gloves because they measurments on the site were incorrect, again they told me to keep the gloves. I guess im loyal to amazon because they always look after me

        • each to their own… both good deals.

Personally i would go with the M50s on value and a good all rounder.

agree with easternculture. amazon is amazing.

  • thanks - been after the AD700 for some time - couldn't resist at this price.

  • The white Vmoda lp ships to Australia now?

    • yes, which i found suprising
the white ones always are overpriced and never ship here
be quick if you want one

  • AD700 or the M50s? My sibling has the Limited edition M50s; wondering if the AD700 would be better? or even the V-MODAs?

    • +3

Horses for courses, if you are in an office environment you’d be best to go closed headphones like the M50’s, V-MODA's or the closed version (A700’s) of the AD700’s. I own the m50’s, great headphone if you want a heavier bass than the AD700’s, but your ears can become hot and perhaps irritated after an hour of use. I also own the A700’s (closed version) and these are really comfortable and great for acoustic or vocal focused music, keen to try the AD700’s having said that. Can’t speak for the V-MODA’s, haven’t tried them! Good luck either way you go!

I actually find the M50s pretty inappropriate for office use as when I have them on, I cannot hear anything at all, probably more effective than most active noise isolation systems.

Personally, the AD700s actually have surprisingly good noise insulation (prevents noise leaking out) and fairly decent noise isolation (prevents outside noise getting in), just enough to be able to hear what's going on but not so scant that outside noise interferes with the audio.
IMHO they're usable on trains (just barely), but if you're a construction worker using a jackhammer then forget about it.

        • +1

The office I work in can be a zoo sometimes, but yes the m50's are very isolating :)

    • +1

depends on what you use it for, IMHO the AD700s are better in everyway except bass but most people would say the M50s are better.
AD700 has larger drivers and is open back and is also has a really ugly color scheme (nothing some modding won't fix, but that can be an effort)

Not really a good deal according to camel3, and I find these 'non-deals' following real deals (like the M50 deal posted earlier today) a distraction rather than a help. Would be better in the comments section of the previous deal.

100% agree with Simon. Come on people.

      Audio-Technica ATH-M50S … $2 more than lowest price ever
V-MODA Crossfade LP .. white ones never get shipped to Australia and usually ~ $120 minimum excluding shipping

So yes, its a good price

    • the price is good enough. we are not setting the "lowest price ever" records.

  • So with Kogan having free shipping. The difference between the Amazon price and Kogan is like $3-4. Kogan around $119 shipped. Who would people recommend. Kogan or Amazon?

  • Which ones should I buy my wife?
She has sennheiser for running and loves them but wants some over the ear ones.
Mainly listens to electronic / house / dub step / glitch etc. & loves dancing around alot.
Any recommendations would be great either from these or something totally different around the same price.

    • nvm.

  • i am waiting for a good price of seinns momentum, at same time thinking of k550. m50 was on my list too, until i bought uptown which i feel very uncomfortable to wear for more than 10 mins.

  • I just ordered the ATH-M50S from Amazon. Price was about $128 AUD Inc postage. Pretty good price. Looking forward to getting them :)
