  • Makes Yout iPhone a Wireless Flash Drive

Just what I need, a 20Mb flash drive… (which is how much space I usually have free) :)

    • Yeah good point, no expandable memory, games can be like 500MB each, music and video from iTunes, what are you left with? 20MB

Which file sharing protocol does this use?

Does it enable access to music library and photos?

    • -2

Just tested it and looks like it uses http to transfer your files to and from the iphone/iPad. No access to photos or music library.

      • Drat, I really wanted it for access to photos.

      • Does it do SMB/CIFS?

      • Bullish!t. Select library for photo transfers

        • +1

Library works, but it appears to copy the photos (at least it took a long time to copy 300+ photos) rather than creating a link

wget —recursive —level=2 http://10.0.0.1/ works nicely.

So not the best solution, but workable. Browser interface is not too bad.

Unfortunately, if you have so much storage for your iphone it usually means,

    1) you are under utilizing your iphone
    2) you have money to pay so much for a small bump in capacity, I am pretty sure that you can afford a wireless hdd.

Anyway, a good deal if you do want to transfer stuff on the go…..

edit: no access to music and photo library….

      1. no it doesnt. Just because i dont have the storage full does not mean i am utilising a phone any less.
      2. why would i get a smaller phone and carry a wireless drive. The storage is handy sometimes. General day to day I dont need the full 64gb of content on there.

-I got my 64GB iphone literally for free, only paid for 5 months on $59 voda plan (was on it for 8 months, they gave me 2 moonths free + gave me credit for one month for crappy reception)
-Got the remaining 4 months waived to upgrade to S3 >> then terminated my S3 contract before 1 month (within network guarantee)
-They also waived the S3 phone cost off my account and never sent me a return parcel to send the phone back despite me calling them several times so also got a S3 for free

  • Anyone have any idea what format the iOS filesystem is? its not FAT is it (can i transfer big files across?)

    Ill try it out anyway.
