My avatar picture says it all.

    • People who read this in the future when your gravatar has changed will think how it relates.

      • Who looks at really old bargains?

  • Lol @ online qualifications.

Yes, $1000 and all that time put in… only to have no-one "recognise" that sort of online degree.

      I recognize groupon!!

      • It delivered by The Australian Academy of Business not by groupon :-)

    • Modules are recognized by TAFE im pretty sure, this plus a lazy 12month 2-3 day a week Business4 TAFE course, could help you skip 1 year of Uni.

    • +1

As long as the modules are nationally accredited under the AQF and are delivered by an accredited RTO, you have nothing to worry about. It will be recognised anywhere in Australia.

  • That Groupon site puts me off. Won't even let you look at the deal without giving an email address and confirming it.

    • Just click the "I'm already registered with Groupon" link and you can access the page. You don't need to actually sign in or anything.

    • that is why they grope on

i signed up for a similar deal a couple of years ago with groupon. I finished the dip. bus & dip. mgmt while doing my main course at university. With the subjects done through those dip. I had 3 subjects accredited at uni = a semester. worked out very well for me.

  • some organisations devalue learning outcomes
and the aqf accredits organisations which tick their boxes
even tafe may give less learning than universities
the tin man did not have a brain
the wizard of oz gave him something better - a diploma!
    he was duly certified

  • you've got a degree in bologna https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i3u2mBVFEHc

Anybody know how many hours of study per week you need to do?
Any idea of the content of this course, if it looks ok then I may sign up but I am hesitant beause I know absolutely nothing of the contents or course structure.
It would be nice to see a course outline or sample course etc

Also, Is there any where that you can compare costs of these course like infochoice etc

    • They reckon 80 hours of study over 12 months; how much you do per week will be up to you.

I find it odd that they don't have a publicly-accessible price list.

      • AND YET TAFE NEEDS 2 YEARS FOR DIPLOMAS NORMALLY.

      • 80 hours doesn't sound like much.
about 1.5 hours per week !

Currently i am doing a refresher for tax preparation and maybe because i'm stupid/or a perfectionist…I put in 2 hours per day 5 days a week.

        • 1 unit in tafe may have 18*3 = almost 60 hours!
so a diploma which is 80 hours in total may be rich.
I taught a lady who had a metropolitan business college 'diploma'
she stopped arguing after she could not do the intro accounts unit in TAFE.
          these diplomas are overvalued.

          1. in tafe for each hour of contact in class, students needed to put in 2-3x as much to LEARN the material.
real study is more than cursory reading.
Bloom identified the levels of learning across the cognitive domain as many and varied, then the affective domain was something which most tafe level or below courses do not teach.
I used to tell students that sometimes they might need more than 3 hours for each contact hour in class.
these diplomas may have cursory tests you pass but you are not able to even pass the first unit in TAFE if you really went to do the real course.
            let alone university.
  • They have extended this offer for 3 days!

  • Slightly off topic … Richard Branson just told UQ forum not to waste money on degrees

    http://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/queensland/branson-tells-uq-…

  • just a shame this wasn't a skill for all approved trainer (SA Gov't co-contribution)

  • This offer has now expired. I am kinda disappointed as I intended to take advantage of this offer before the above mentioned expiry. I am a sad panda :(

    • Don't worry. I saw it has been offered through another group buy website before so it will probably be up again soon.
