    Oooohhhhh….
This is a good price. The S2 was considered THE Android phone to have only 12 months ago and it is supposed to be Jelly Bean upgradable. Will be interesting to see whether it gets a version of Key Lime Pie when it hits the streets in a couple of months.
An S2 was $600 a year ago and $380 pre-S4. This looks like a good buy.

    • +2

But this is the lower spec Galaxy S II Plus* … Comparison

      • +2

Agreed. This would have been an ok price 6 months ago, but two iterations on & with the S3 dropping to the ~$400 mark already, I think that they've missed the boat with this pricing.

        • +1

Don't forget that Kogan sells the much superior Lg Optimus 4x for $269 (noted: with free delivery for a couple of days) a while back.

    • +7

And the S3 was considered THE Android phone to have 12 months ago.
The S2 was THE Android phone 24 months ago!!

Wow rep you've got some balls showing up here on Ozbargain trying to sell phones given your track record…

Does "WE DO NOT MAKE A LOSS ON ANY ORDER" and "GIVE US MORE MONEY OR WE WILL NOT SEND YOUR ITEM" ring any bells?

Having been one of many who have been burnt by these scammers before I can honestly say that anyone is better than DWI/eglobal! Try Kogan or Uniquemobiles if its only $20-30 more. Seriously not worth the hassle of dealing with these fraudsters!

Wow.. And you're still lying about it even now.

        For the record:
1)I ordered the Samsung Galaxy Note in December, specifically asking about stock levels before I ordered and being assured that it was in stock.
        2) This turned out to be a blatant lie as 5 weeks later after a total of 20+ emails from me of which you give the generic response "stock is coming very soon - only a few days away, we'll let you know when we send it (sic)" continually.
        3) Meanwhile We found out that you are selling Notes to other customers on your website and through your eBay store at a higher price and shipping it to these new customers.
4)We confront you with this evidence but you continually deny you have stock and keep up your generic "stock is coming soon" BS response.
        5) Finally a semi honest staff member (who you now said have fired), told us the reason you weren't sending stock is that your wholesale cost went up and you would be making less than an acceptable margin for the transaction. This is when we get your infamous quote "WE DO NOT MAKE A LOSS ON ANY ORDER" Meanwhile you keep my and many other people's $580 and continually lie to us saying stock is around the corner.
        6) Finally when we begin to ask for refunds, you blackmail us asking for more money so that the sale which we paid for 5+ weeks ago can meet your specified margin cut off and you can send the item. I refused to pay this blood money but others caved and had no choice.
        7) It took a further 2 weeks for you to refund the money at which point we bought the phones somewhere else.

This is the complete truth. If you regard revealing the truth and warning others about your shady trade practices as trolling, then you haven't learnt a thing and deserve to be out of business. When have you addressed these issues with me and others? How do you intend to resolve it? What has changed? We have never even got so much of an apology from your company. From other's experiences, the shady dealings go on with warranties not honoured, out of stock and being dicked around still go on.

This is why I constantly have and will continue to warn others about dealing with you. For $20-30, more/sometimes even less than you, there are so many other less troublesome options.

        • +1

DWI-Admin, guess who has the benefit of the doubt here (hint: not you). I'm open minded to who is in the right here, but I believe you require some proof to back up your claims. Generally speaking, people don't go to this much trouble for no reason.

    • +5

DWI = fail. Ordered thousands from these guys and there are 2 outcomes:

      1. You get you thing delivered within 3 working days all written as under $1000. Life is sweet

      2. After 3 days, if you still haven't got it, good luck. The money will sit in their account until you send at least 5 emails, 10 phonecalls and have sat through the minimum waiting period of 4 weeks.

        Hi Ciape

When people request a refund all refunds are processed with in 2 workings days, there can be delays though in people receiving the money back in there accounts for various reasons though, for example banks / credit card providers can take up to 30 days to release funds back to a consumer this is part of there standard terms and conditions, PayPal also tends to hold funds when a PayPal dispute is issued and escalated to a claim even if the merchant advises and confirms to PayPal the funds are to be refunded, this is even more of a problem when the payment has been made though a credit card on the PayPal gateway rather than through a PayPal account.

Theirs a lot that goes on behind the scene that can cause delays that consumers are not aware of and that are entirely out of the merchant’s hands.

        Many thanks

        DWI

          Bullshit!

Looks like nothing has changed with you guys.

      • I had experience #1…. only, with DWI there is no after sales support, nor warranty.

    • +8

then we should ban DWI posting any deals, before any one gets cheated by getting these deals.

  • +6

i bought a camera flash from them 2 years ago. They were excellent But i've not purchased anything since. Guess i'll stay away from them in the future

    • +2

I don't know why lonewolf is getting negged here, that is basically the experience of many people with DWI.

I've been very happy with the service from the camera dept in the past; but judging by the sheer number of negative reports from multiple sources, the phone dept is woeful, and best avoided.

      • -3

        Hi StewBalls

Yes our phone dept had some problems for a little while when we first started dealing with the phones a couple of years back, but this has been remedied for sometime, but majority of people from day one have had positive experiences especially in more recent history.

        Many thanks

        DWI

        • wish i knew dwi had an admin on ozbargain, all these negative reviews scared me away from buying a galaxy s4, ended up buying from unique because i was directly able to speak to one of their admins

        • -2

          Hi Sct911

We are pretty new on here, we thought Ozbargain may deserve a bit more dedicated support as we have seen a a bit of traffic from here, but at the same time we didnt come on here to just get trolled, so see how things go.

          Many thanks

          DWI

        • Actually heard some nice comments about you from a friend and actually bought a phone from DWI.
Read some reviews online seemed like their were problems, but it also seemed that there were few changes and recent reviews seemed to be alright…so i continued the order.

The phone i ordered (Xperia Z purple) is backordered and still waiting for it.

It would be really appreciated if there was somewhere to figure out how much stock you got.

        • -1

          Hi eljuwenbur

I believe the purple colours have already come in and are shipping tonight if not already.

At the moment the only real ways to check stock levels with us is to email us at [email protected], leave a comment on our facebook page http://www.facebook.com/DWIAUS or phone us, we should also have a live chat system up shortly.

We have been working on getting a live stock system up on our website for the past couple of months, but due to the volume of our wholesale business its to unreliable at this stage to use, we hope this will be something we can implament on our current web platform otherwise it will be postponed.

          Many thanks

          DWI

        • You said the same thing 2 years ago…

Oh yeah.. Try to ring you on your unattended phone line? Please, stop wasting people's time…

        • Not sure how they've changed… until i get mine
However it seems that they've changed from 2 years ago (from the recent reviews on whirlpool and etc …didn't read all of them so not sure).
If the rep is telling the truth about firing the employ and changing the dept, it could have become better.

But ye definitely you're right about the phone. I could never get in touch with a phone.
Did got some replies through emails…but they didn't contain much information or had same replies coming. Hope this could be fixed, or maybe live chat would be a good.

I hope that I get my phone soon. (if the rep is correct it will be shipped soon)

Best sort out the issues than try to defend yourself against alleged "trolls".
Calling people "trolls" on a site like this doesn't score many points.

        • DWI-Admin-Please stop talking about being trolled. It is very poor form to put it nicely.

      • I don't know why lonewolf is getting negged here…

He/she states they had an excellent service from them…. then negs the post??

People will neg to try and remove the invalid post neg…..

  • ? Too expensive!

  • Buy at your own risk, and if you do decide to do so, be sure to pay with PayPal, or credit card at the very least, because if you have to return the phone for a refund, it won't be forthcoming from them. Lots of promises, but little else.

And if you do have to return it, be sure to use a shipping method with both tracking AND a signature.

  • Definitely buy at your own risk. DWI will NOT honor warranty returns. Had a galaxy note bricked due to a well known emmc error, they claimed a misuse since the chrome bezel was fading.

You may get your phone in time now, good luck getting in contact with them to claim warranty.

  • +2

I could not care less what value or awesome discount this company could have, but I would NEVER trust purchasing anything from them. From what I have read about them time and time again, I recommend that everyone avoid them at all costs.
I also agree that DWI should be banned from posting deals on ozbargain.

  • You can't ship via AusPost because they won't ship anything with lithium battery in it. You have to use a private courier and cost over $100 for both ways.

    • I thought the 'ban' on lithium cells was for air freight only, all too happy to ship lithium batteries via ground methods?

      • Indeed, if it's got a battery, it goes by land only.

  • They're on my 'online shopping - avoid' list. I don't recall why, but I abide by that list 100%. It means I got burned or narrowly escaped. I agree OZB is waaay better off without vendors who consistently demonstrate shoddy retailing and stubbornly refuse to rehabilitate.

  • Less storage, no MHL or on the go really kill the possibility of this being a good deal.

  • +1

seems you can get a 'real' SGS2 for about $10 more.
    http://www.shopbot.com.au/pp-samsung-i9100-galaxy-s-ii-price…

so why bother, regardless of how DWI might treat you ?

I'm always bemused when companies make down-spec products that must cost them literally a couple of bucks less to make…or charge like $130 more for an extra 8GB of memory, that must be like a $3 difference in chip price.
