  • I'd love to see someone report an OW match today.
I'll give it ago myself tonight (Hornsby). :)

Surely OW and other dealers would be able to all sell around this price, if they have stock?

In stock at that dealer, but only in one place, if the web page stock listing is current.

    • Got it from OW Glen Waverley for $150.29 (5% off $143.2 + $15). And $136.63 for me after claiming the GST back.

  • It looks as though they have no stock for sydney, so i don't believe you can ask Officeworks for that deal here

  • I think its a price error anyway, given the exact price listed for the element 640GB.

    http://www.nscom.com.au/catalogue/details.jsp?productID=5597…

  • looks like it has disappeared from the website now.

    • Yes, it was still there when I am in OW at 8:50pm. Now the whole bunch of Western Digital has gone if search by brands. Now it shows $168.99 from the home page.

  • I tried posting this a couple of hours ago but have had a horror week with Voda 3G not working reliably.

Click on my name at the top of this post for my blog.
I paid $136.04 at Hornsby, after showing the featured deal at the Nthn Beaches shop of nscom.
I attached a picture of the receipt, in case it helps. :)

My blog's mostly those airfare deals - not a deals site, but an attempt to highlight how and where to get the kind of bargains shown here.

I just hope that some others can pick up this HD at a sale price.
    Good luck! :)

  • Doesn't OW have to ring to get the price match? The one I went to last night say since they can't contact the shop to see if it still have stock, so they can't give the price match? (even though have already show them the website)

  • Again WA is screwed out of the deal but this is the lowest price I've seen for a 1TB USB HDD

  • tpp, here is some additional information that might be helpful:

The OW person who helped me mentioned he should phone, but was happy to match on the basis of seeing stock levels on the other reseller's site. The fact I had a quote and the vendor had stock listed may have helped.

YMMV and I think it's best to move quickly so that checks can be made while retailers have stock, in order to do the match.

Maybe I was just lucky this time, but when a supplier indicates plenty of stock, it is a very good time to do the price match.

    • OK Bizi, I give up.
      YMMV???

      • Your mileage may vary :)

        EDIT: Beaten below

    • Thanks bizi, will certainly try that in the future :P

  • teaearlgrey - 'Your Mileage May Vary' - you may get a different result than me.
    - Especially if the dealers aren't offering this price now or are indicating no stock - or if the OW person phones and they say they are out of stock.

Next time this product is offered at a great price, somewhere, try again, as quickly as possible. :)

    I posted cheaper deal here:

  • while this ns.com.au deal may have been useful for price matching, i doubt that ns.com.au would have honoured the deal…
