There are some on Ebay for $20.00
    e.g. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/UltraFire-1800LM-CREE-XML-T6-LED-…
That come with a pouch and a car charger as well as everything here. But I am happy with this.

  • The coupon code only takes $6 off the entire order. Does this mean that if I wish to order multiple flashlights, I have to put through multiple orders?

    • In the past with these guys.. Yes…

      • Thanks, have emailed the rep to see if they can adjust the coupon code.

I don't mind doing multiple orders but it just seems like a waste of everyone's time.

    • Yes, seems counter intuitive but they've encouraged people to do multiple purchases instead of doing multiples in 1 order.

    • yes,you have to place multiple orders.D:

  • Great! Bright lights!

  • How good is this torch compared to Cree Q5 from the previous deal?

    • This one is 1600 lumens, the deal you linked to is 300 lumens.

    • +1

This one use Cree T6 is brighter than Q5 and with 5 modes.Besides, the price is include 2 batteries and a charge. The bright range in dark at least 2 times longer than last one.

      • Nice! was blown away by that one for how big it was, looking forward to this beauty! Ordered one. Thankyou.

  • -2

Can be found around the same price on ebay.

    http://www.ebay.com/itm/UltraFire-1600Lm-CREE-XM-L-T6-LED-Fl…

    • i dont see the 2 batteries and charger there?

PayPal Conversion Rate as of 20 May 2013: 1 Australian Dollar = 0.942945 US Dollars
:( - But I guess the dollar for buying overseas couldn't be in our favor forever.
But at least it's not all bad news, we can expect more overseas buyers buying from Australia which will mean better Economy :)

      • Add your 28 degrees Mastercard to your Paypal account and don't get ripped off by the conversion - pay in USD.

These are great for reading in bed !!!

    • How do you hold it?

      • +11

        Wife has a torch holder

    • +1

Great for reading in bed if you bed is perhaps in a void of unending darkness?
this is almost certainly overkill for reading in bed.

    • +1

You need to stop going to bed wearing those sunglasses.

  • dammit. didnt really need one….. but….

  • Dear Rep,
Could you please sort out my order for me ?
I paid for the 'Fenix TK22' torch a week ago. I have since talked to live chat and they promised it would ship in a couple of days. The only progress I've seen is that my order status has been pushed back from 'processing' to 'back order' and back to 'processing'. What's going on ?
BTW, live chat isn't working for me anymore for me.

  • +7

Are the 18650 batteries protected? If not your "Ultrafires" may turn out to be "CatchOnFires"….

    • +3

I hope those who bought these would try to at least educate themselves on li ion batteries and associated risks.

      • I was just reading up about these batteries, otherwise I wouldn't have had a clue about the dangers of using them. Almost inclined not to bother with them after some of the stories I've read. Think i'll stick to using 3 AAA's instead.

  • bright light, bright light…..

  • +1

Anyone know what the battery life is on these things?

  • +10

1600 lumens? Maybe if you focused it into a pinpoint of light and measured it there!

X-ML T6s in other lights (e.g. the ultrafire wf-502b) get around 600-700 lumens and Cree themselves only rate the LEDs at that much (http://www.cree.com/~/media/Files/Cree/LED%20Components%20an…)

Peeps over at candlelightpower forums and budgetlight forums seem to get ~1000 lumen from T6s so yeah that's probably the max!

But then again it's $12 for a light, charger, and batteries.. why am I even bothering to type this!

    • +1

Thanks for doing all the research for me! and Asking questions I didn't even want to type!

  • Did anyone else get offered 'marital aids' at the end of their purchase?

    • +1

yeah, I couldn't work out the association with Karate ???

    • nope i got offered a swimming life vest, Nylon Hammock, and a LED signal with a horn.

Sounds like the sort of thing useful to an asylum seeker.. Just need to pick a country now.

      • Shit, I wish I had all those safety stuff when I was on the boat on the way here.

        • what? you guys have a BOAT?

        • No, I don't have one but I came on a boat.

  • +5

My wife… "why did you buy another bloody torch!"

Me, "so I can find all my portable HDD's and USB's when I can't pay the power bill"

    • +2

I just ask her how much she spent at the hairdresser the other day, and I don't get any more questions about my torch…

      • +4

You also don't get a warm bed.

        • +3

with torch it will assist you camp outside the house …….from the house finance minister

        • The non-protected 18650 batteries will keep me warm…

        • +3

          True as they say..
Build a man a fire and he'll be warm for the night. Set a man on fire and he'll be warm for the rest of his life

  • I have this torch and also a Fenix TK35 which is meant to be 860 lumens - the Fenix is far brighter than the Ultrafire. But hey for $12 with batteries and charger it will be brighter than anything else at that price. I doubt the 18650s are protected though.

    • +2

Fenix torches are properly measured so the TK35 output will be very close to what is stated. This torch, like many Chinese made generics (e.g. Ultrafire, prariefire, sunfire, and any other fire), have a highly exaggerated lumen output for marketing. Same goes for their batteries.

  • seriously, the payment completed page that says "Thank You for shopping with us online!" has suggested sex toys & strap ons are "Related Products" of the torch… I wondered…

edit: use the "remove banggood logo" option when you check out

    • +1

It is 17cm long. Maybe the strap on would make a handy mount? I'll stick with my head torch.

    • I got some 'appropriate' related products though. Random?

    • Maybe they know I have spare Eneloop Batteries to use?

      • Eneloop leaks in wet condition, too bad

    • +1

Now I see why someone said "his wife has a torch holder".

  • I have my doubts about the actual brightness of this torch… Based on the size of the lens i'm kinda guessing an output closer to 600 or 700 lumens. Very tempting at this price though. (I'll ditch the batteries and charger for higher capacity and better quality ones)

    • +1

I'll ditch the batteries and charger for higher capacity and better quality ones

      any recommendations ?

      • +3

If you don't mind spending a bit more for quality, AW branded batteries have a very good reputation for having a capacity the is equal to or exceeds the advertised amount.

As for chargers, the Xtar WP2 (2 bay charger), or WP6 (6 bay charger) are really good quality for a reasonable price.

      • I'm using Wolf Eyes branded batteries and charger for my Defender 260…They are protected cells. I got mine locally (before I became an OzB'er)

  • +1

Thanks have to agree with Tangenyahu its a good deal with what's included

  • +1

Bought one, will be my last torch for a long long long while

    • +1

till the next torch bargain i reckon ;)

  • Saw the 1000 lumen variant yesterday at a friends place. This is too good not to buy :)

  • looked to buy one but seems I was a bit slow "This coupon could only be used 380 times."

    • Same.

  • lame, let me give you money bang good! bring it back

  • ditto… yet it says 2680 sold…

    • Was well over 2000 at start of this deal.

  • +3

well i looked but decided not to buy one.

The also sell the same torch with in-car charger for $3 more. These are red/silver batteries and likely the not protected variant.

    http://www.banggood.com/Wholesale-Ultrafire-CREE-XM-L-T6-160…

But after i read this i decided to get neither.

    http://lygte-info.dk/review/batteries2012/UltraFire%20BRC186…

    • +1

Also considered (3hr15min according to my posts!), but could not justify another type of battery & charger - only to be used in this torch.
Size of torch was another consideration - twice the length of the Q5, and heavier. I like something a bit smaller in my hand.
Will stick with the Q5 from last deal, run on a trusty AA. Saved AUD $12.31 :)

      • +2

I like something a bit smaller in my hand.

        lol

  • +2

    damn.. gone!

  • recently gotten one of these (different brand same design)

zoom is awesome, makes you go silent hill on every corner of the house

  • too slow….guess I didn't need yet another led torch, but a spare charger and batteries were a good deal.

  • +2

Brought this and for an extra A$3.12 (at A$15.43) also picked up the
'Ultrafire CREE XM-L T6 1600LM 5 Mode Zoomable LED Flashlight'. Extra 18650 battery and car charger.

    http://www.banggood.com/Wholesale-Ultrafire-CREE-XM-L-T6-160…

    Package Included:
    1 x Ultrafire CREE XM-L T6 LED Flashlight
    1 x Battery Charger
    1 x AAA adapter
    1 x Battery tube
    1 x 18650 Rechargeable battery Car Charger
    2 x 18650 3.7v Rechargeable Battery

    • My suggestion 3 hours earlier - but only charges 1 battery at time.

  • +1

Something I've just noticed, is the plug for the charger a euro plug? Makes the charger a bit redundant. (I've seen the American plug on other electrical items banggood sells).

So do you ship a different plug for Australian use or is it a case of buy/find an adaptor (or another device with the same output with an Australian plug).

    • Photos in reviews show a 2 round pin adaptor - may depend on destination?

    • Interestingly I couldn't find an adaptor on their site, looks like we'll have to got to their competitors for that…
