If you're afer cheap ski gear I would recommend http://www.levelninesports.com/
They definitely ship all their products to Australia. For skis, it's around $99 for shipping.
They have good bundles with skis, bindings and boots.
I bought a set last year. Paid on Friday and received goods the follwing Thursday.

    • I bought some stuff from levelninesports.com before too. Received skis in 4 days. Cost just over $400 delivered. Saw the same skis in some shop in Jindy for over $700.

Barely enough stock to make an actual bargain, also perhaps combining your posts could be a good idea aswell.

    • Yeahm should have combined it. Cheers

Here is a random bargain from Level 9.

    http://www.levelninesports.com/Head-Peak-72Edge-105-Complete…

Skis, boots and bindings. Normally US$1,000 and now $369. Save 63%. Need to add shipping.

or skis and bindings only. US$99+shipping. http://www.levelninesports.com/Head-Shape-01-Skis

    • damn thats a pretty good package

    • I feel much better now that someone else thinks this is a bargain because I just bought it on Sunday! They offer a great service over there though. I think they deal with a lot of Aussies. Really helpful with sizing and advice on what suited me for my experience.

      • they look cheap and very basic, but at this price, they are way better than the rubbish you can rent at the resorts.if you dont mind the not-that-fancy looking, they are great buy. (i only had a quick look at that page, didnt check the spec).

    • I've bought loads of gear from Levelnine, skied Japan last feb in a pair of boots i bought from them (and had customised by Footpro in Melb). Always had great bargains and great prices. I've never bought skis (but have been very tempted) but I have bought my kids snowboards and as mentioned, lightning quick shipping. Highly recommended.

  • So is it the distributors/importers or the retailers or both, that are ripping Australians off??

And they have a funny way of dealing with it. Instead of dropping prices, no, lets complain to the main company and get them to impose region restrictions, so we can keep ripping off our customers.

I heard that some shops aren't even allowed to ship to forwarding addresses now!!

Crazy that the sales prices here are still more than RRP in the states.

    • There are pages and pages on ski.com.au about this. Usual arguments about local cost of rent/labour etc. Also many claim that the bargains we see on the net are the end of season stuff from the US, they are about to go into their summer whereas we are heading into ski season. In fairness when i have skied overseas, local prices there dont seem too different from our stuff, the great deals seem to be on the net.

Personally I have bought thousands of $$ worth of kit for myself and family. Everything from skis and boards to helmets and clothes. Almost all of it bought from the US via discount sales.

  • imo, this price is an everyday price. i never consider the rip-off price from auski.

  • Cheaper here http://www.bahnhof.com/K2-Amp-Rictor-Skis-w-MX-120-binding-1… at USD$564.97 + shipping but you have to use a mail forwarder called Bongo. Personally I have only read bad things about Bongo and I would avoid the purchase based on their involvement.
