39 Dollar Glasses are usually, well, US$39 but now they're doing 20% off the entire range of prescription eyeglasses and sunglasses. They claim they are "the world's number 1 online optical store".

I discovered them after OzB put up their last deal and was very happy with the glasses, the service and the great price. They are manufactured in the USA and postage took me max 10 days, costing about $15.

It's the lens coatings that are so much cheaper as well, e.g. US$25 (before 20% off) for anti-glare on clear single vision lens.

    As someone who's never needed glasses, can anyone tell me how you order glasses online without an eye test?

      Get a eye test first..record the prescription and order online ..

      Medicare pay 100% for your eye test every 2 years, most or all opticians bulk bill it to medicare so no need to even pay up front. Just ask for a print out of the prescription afterwards and put the numbers in as you order

      that's pretty good. Just checked you can get standard basic glasses from Zenni for $7 +$10 shipping.
      I think there's another online store which is as cheap!

    BTW mine arrived a little while ago - frames OK but feel a little cheap & they got the lenses right. Not bad for USD 31.95. Will get some corrective sunnies for the beach.
