I wonder how long you can store these things. Don't have a coldsore at teh moment but…as a great lion once said, "Be prepared!"

  • How did you hear about the free COMPEEDĀ® sample?:

    damn…. no "OzBargain" option :D

    "No Facebook required"

    Thankfully,

Nothing would say "I have herpes on my face" like a Compeed wall post.

  • The blister patches are great. They were giving them out when I did city2surf.

Said you were a friend when they asked me how I found out about it, OP <3

  • Are these safe to use… downstairs?

    • I guess that would depend on how much you were into pain, with regard to removing it.

  • I don't have an issue with the deal. Everyone likes something for free. I just personally avoid forms that also request a DOB. I think that's too much private information when combined with a name and an address. For a deal like this you only need a name and an address anything more than that is fishing for information that is stored on a database and can get possibly get into the wrong hands.

    • Almost nowhere on the net that requests a DOB needs to know it. For the reasons you've already established, you should never give the correct date. Make one up.

Compeed cold sore patches are much easier to use than zovirax I found. Easier to remove the paper after it was on.

Good on this company for the NO Facebook thing!

It's a very sad day indeed when it's deemed important enough to actually state in a Title that "NO Facebook required"

Is Facebook begging the defacto standard now days for release of promotional product samples?

Apart from the lameness of marketing people who think FB Likes are important, a logical person could ask how would anybody know whether they liked something before they had even tried it?

  • Herpes is not good.

  • Are these effective if applied to one's nether region?

  • Did you know these patches have no medical application!
There is nothing in them that is medicated.
There are just a mini band aid with good marketing….

    • Trues?

      • +1

Not exactly. It's true they aren't medicated, but a hydrocolloidal dressing is not the same as a normal band-aid. Typically an exuding wound like a cold sore, blister or ulcer will heal better in the moist environment provided by a Compeed, Duoderm, etc.

  • I take 1 Lysine tablet every day and that stops cold sores in their tracks! I used to get cold sores when I was run down, but now I don't. According to some studies the jury is still out on to whether they work, but being a regular suffer to pretty much not getting any (maybe 1 a year, very small blister that heals in 2 days) I'm convinced they work. The bottle recommends to take 2 a day, but I only take 1

Edit: they also help if you already have a cold sore. They reduce the healing time and the size of it.
