  • Great price. Kind of regretting getting the Saeco version of it now (http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/80649). Coffee is just as good, but the electrolux one is automatic (Saeco one has manual buttons).

  • damn just bought an aldi one, but would have preferred the steamer frother thing on this instead
although aldi capsules are much cheaper, .37c a capsule vs around 75c a capsule for this

    • 75c a capsule for this

ouch! So each kilogram of coffee costs more than the machine? Just like inkject printers.

        B-B-B-Bargain Killer!

        • It depends how much you drink. Pods are a bargain for someone who wants to make coffee for the odd guest, but not good if you drink coffee every day.

Worthwhile if you have angry toddlers in the house of a morning too. Grinding pressing and pouring gets a bit much then.

Paying for convenience really, like driving to the shops vs riding a bike.

        • Meh, I have a semi-automatic setup, can do it in my sleep. In fact I do - every morning.

Press on button, shove head under grinder, coffee grounds come out, put cup under machine, shove head into machine, twist to tamp, press start, smell the coffee.

edit: sorry, forgot we were talking about pods here.
These make excellent coffee, and a bargain if not used too often.

        • We do something similar but with manual tamping, still using the pods though when pressed for time.

One thing I've ditched is the steam based frothed, I've a preference for the mixer aerator one that came with the nespresso.

I do hate the smug marketing that goes along with nespresso though, it wasn't a surprise when I found the chatswood pod store was right next to the apple store …..

Had the Aldi capsule and I have one of the Saeco machine which uses the Lavazza pods. The Lavazza coffee tastes a 100X better! Well worth the extra you pay for a pod if your'e into quality tasting coffee

      • Same here. Gave my Aldi one away after I got the lavazza one.

  • I got the Saeco too, stocked up on pods when david jones had 15% off. We don't have aldi in Perth (yet!) but I go some cheap ones from ebay and they are definately not as good as the lavazza ones.
