  • thats cheaper than 20w50 clunker oil

you can only buy one right?

    • From the TV ad I'm most certain it said limit 3 per customer.

I doubt 15W40 costs any more to make than 20W50, its just that people with cars taking 20w50 are more price sensitive. Hell, even my old clunker specifies 15w40.

  • also 2hp air compressor for $69. saturday only

  • Thanks winga26 and gotbean

    The deal updated

    Cheers

  • Very nice.

  • Unrool price on the oil. I thought i was doing well getting Valvoline 20-50 for $9 at the Autobarn sale. There was a limit of 2 so i bought 2 and the missus then went in and got 2 more.

Doubt there will be much in the way of stock. More a teaser to get you into store.

    • This, my local store has just 2 compressors.
Often with catalogue stuff they get <5 it seems.

    • If they have no stock they will honour the sale price if you ask for some to be set aside for you. A hassle I know but these prices might be worth a wait?

  • any one comment on the compressor? seems to be the best price i've ever seen a 2hp compressor at. generally $100ish with accessories…. $69 has me tempted….

    • Its certainly well priced Depending what it is - you might be able to move a couple small bolts on a car, but i don't think it will have enough pressure long enough to rattle something like a castle nut off an axle.

      • Cheap compressors often use a very small regulator which will not flow enough air to keep up with demand. I successfully used a tiny compressor for years but only after replacing the toy regulator.

    • I've been using one of the $110 Supercheap ones for quite some time. Does the job but as others say bugga all airflow compared to a real compressor but if hi flow isn't what your after they seem to do well.

I used mine to dig a garden bore so it did a fair bit of work in its early days :)

Wish i could see some penrite close to this price.

  • Cheap enough to do a engine flush…

  • Repco never seem to promote these 2 day or short sales on their website.

I caught the end of the TV ad, then checked on the website to see exactly what was included. Didn't find a brass razoo.

  • Good winter oil. Cheers OP will try my local soon.

  • Tried a few stores, Airport west, Footscray, Sunshine. No luck out of stock and the guy at Repco reckons most places will be out!!!

  • Bankstown Repco has sold out on oil and that was at 9:30, so don't bother.

I reckon staff either saved for themselves and/or there is VERY limited stock.

    • or they put them out the back and pretend its sold out until the sales over

  • Managed to get the last 3 at The Entrance Repco, doesnt look like there was much stock on the shelves beforehand.

  • I didn't read all the comments, but if this is a synthetic oil - and you've used non-synthetic in your engine - don't use this. I was reading last night, that it will clean out all the gunk inside the engine and oil seals will start leaking. Also newer engines are "tighter". So when you use it in an older engine, it creates a lot of noise. (Apparently.)

If it's not synthetic - just ignore my ramblings.

  • Local Repco had a sign in the window:

Due to unexpected demand we have no stock of Shell Helix 15-40 or 2HP air compressors.

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

      I missed out too

Went to my local repco at 9:13 and sold out already

      I can't believe it

      • Same here, I'll just have to use the 20/50 I already have.

  • Got the oil, decided against the compressor, looks a bit dinky.

    • I believe it was what they call a direct drive compressor. (Not the preferred type apparently.)

      • They are all direct drive ones unless you spend at least $400ish and then you can get the belt drive ones that are also generally larger and/or larger tanks. It makes them more quiet and the larger tank means they don't have to switch back on as often.
