i got this from PC mag and I think it's awesome. I'm currently looking to build a house but it's hard to visualise from floorplans and there are no display homes for custom designs. This program really helped. It's effectively a virtual tour for me. I wanted to know how much space i would have in a bedroom, so I put in beds, tallboys, bedside tables etc. (all of which could be custom sized - so i took the tape measure out and then inputted it into the program). Gave me a real good feel.

I tried downloading three times - each time it states it's 995 MB, downloads about 3-4 MB, and stops.

    • have you tried using download manager software ?

      • No, I've just tried the right-click and save method.

  • Thanks unicorn888,

there's a few walls I want to knock down in this place so this will be good to help the wife (and subsequently the tradies) understand the big picture :)

  • Downloading at about 800b/s then a few seconds lull.

Is give away getting kick backs from the utilities?

  • They removed the zip file in favour of a 2 meg installer which is equally slow.

A bit stupid of them to remove the file when people were close to finishing the 1Gb download.

I can't get it to download. Keeps saying the installer files are corrupted. Very poor implementation of the download service unfortunately.

Thanks OP, good deal but might not be able to get it working.

  • BTW did anybody successfully download the file? I wonder if it would be too much trouble (and acceptable under OzBargain's guidelines) to upload it to a file sharing mirror website, which wouldn't be taking such a thrashing.

Tried to download 3 times but failed each time. Potentially a good post, but unfortunately supplier doesn't deliver. A huge waste of my time.

Found a way to get around the slow download:

Go to the below link to get your free license first!
    http://www.ashampoo.com/frontend/registration/php/trial_step…

(you'd need to sign up for an account at Ashampoo first)

Then download the software directly from Ashampoo's site:
    https://www.ashampoo.com/en/aud/dld/0167/Ashampoo-Home-Desig…

(and PLEASE, use a download manager to make your life easier!)

    Then fingers crossed!

    • Yes, I tried this one earlier and it works.

    • I must be missing something. I got my license key, then went to cnet to download (using ADSL broadband internet connection)… and 2 hours later it is still downloading, telling me it has 1 hour 52 minutes remaining!
      Is this what others experienced?
