The Reject Shop - 2 Double Walled Glasses 300ml $5

190

I saw this at Chadstone (VIC) The Reject Shop. I really think this was a bargain, so grabbed 3 sets, plenty left. I have no idea what the quality is like and haven't used them yet. Not sure about other stores.

  • What's the appeal of double walled glasses? Appearance or what?

Just looks like a glass that holds less liquid than your decent glass. Nothing worse than having to pour your beverage over and over.

    • +4

The appeal is you can hold your hot drink without a handle and without burning your hand. They might get a little warm on the outside but not hot like a standard glass or cup. Also they look good.

Should keep cold drinks cool too.

      • but if its going to burn your hand wouldnt your burn your mouth if you were to drink it?
dont get me wrong but if you cant hold it, you cant drink it.

I take it sipping a coffee is difficult for you. Maybe try getting an iced coffee mate :)

        • It'll allow you to carry or hold the glass elsewhere though and let it cool down with time, and some may be able to take sips from it still. Just like a mugs handle.

The alternative is a glass you can't take with you because it'll get too hot to hold over time. That or you need a tray or whatever to carry it with.

      Insulation

      That is all

I could be wrong, but I don't think they are designed with the intention for them to hold beverage?

I think in the pictures they're holding a very poorly constructed cappuccino, so I'd say that they are. I thought it was sand or something myself at first until I read the replies to my comment.

        • The picture on the box looks better in person. :)
My phone's camera is just crap…

      • +1

you're wrong. They have been designed to hold beverages

    • Got a couple for espresso drinks - they hold a good amount, you don't burn your hand and they're aesthetically pleasing :)

  • Ha, you guys kidding? When you see them in real life with a drink or coffee in them you'll see, they look mad!

    • -7

I'll also look mad once I keep having to pour my average over and over because I bought a class just because of its looks as you seem to be saying is a reason to purchase them.

      • +1

Let the people buy their glasses, nails.

  • at Kmart, you get 4 of those for $10 everyday.

  • Wonder if other Reject stores might sell. Couldn't locate any ebay's at =$2.50 per glass (2).

  • For those who've used them for hot drinks, do they make you underestimate the heat and burn your lips?

    • No, because we know the temperature.

  • +2

If you know anyone and I mean ANYONE that works there you get an additional 15% off. Counter people don't question you at all

    • Are you saying I could go to the counter, look at the person's name tag and go 'hey I know <person's name> that works at this store. He said I could get 15% off'. Or better yeah 'hey I'm <person's name> and I work here.'
      I'll try it tomorrow.

      • Tell them you're the new manager ;-)

        • Might as well your are sent by the CEO of the reject shop to take some samples to test the quality of the glasses?

300mL is a more than enough for a latte or cappuccino. Just check if they are dishwasher or microwave safe. I like drinking out of glass , particularly when having a coffee as I like to see how the drink has turned out but if they are not dishwasher safe it is a bit annoying.

  • Good size. I have others that are 250ml, a bit small for my taste. Going to try these, thanks.

  • Got some of these today at Coffs harbour. Just what I was looking for. Thanks guys

  • Further to comment above the box says they are microwave and dishwasher safe. (I am sure the box wouldn't lie)

  • Yes these are a terrific cup. Double walled other brands comparatively a rip off. Bought a few boxes featuring yellow sticker price=$5; most likely several sets still left at Westfield Miranda (NSW) reject shop.
