  • OK, I bought one, but am slightly confused about all this talk about coupons.
    Did I buy a knife, or a coupon ?
Why am I interested in coupons ?

    • yeah, can see how that's confusing. Our site is set up for restaurants/experiences etc. need to change some of the text for products. I can confirm you have bought a swiss army knife and not a coupon!

    • says you dont need to do anymore after purchase but it is interesting to ponder why sell a coupon at all in the first place

i think it does evade some consumer protection, as you purchased a coupon, not a knife, maybe a lawyer can tell us the diffrences :)

      I see you've played knifey-spoony before.

  • No refunds

Just FYI that's against the law.

    http://www.consumerlaw.gov.au/content/the_acl/downloads/cons…

The maximum civil penalty for providing
    false or misleading information is
$1.1 million for a body corporate and
    $220,000 for an individual. Criminal
penalties for the same amounts may
    also be imposed.

    • i think that's the functional difference between the purchasing of coupon vs purchasing of knife

you may refund the coupon, but if you've redeemed the coupon then you basically waive all rights and they don't have to refund the knife ( i think)

    • if you have a problem with the knife, you can return it. another text issue we will need to fix

      • thanks :)

  • Thanks op. Bought one to leave in the car.

      Width: 26mm
      Length: 84mm

  • where on ebay ? a link please

  • Are they the same size etc. and is this a good brand, I do not know much about swiss army knives? was thinking of getting one for a gift so any information would be good. thanks

    • They're just a standard swiss army knife. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victorinox

It's a good brand, i've had one for years. Generally, with this model, The more features you get, the more expensive it is. While they're useful, it's generally illegal to carry one in public (without a valid reason).

EDIT: It's a good price for one, particularly delivered.

      • theres a key ring on it:/ so its illegal if i attach my keys to it and carry it in my pocket? :(

        ps. now thats a knife!

        • (without a valid reason)

        • Victorinox are excellent quality.

Generally if you sharpen the knife correctly there is no reason why you cannot use it all your life and then give it your children, grand children, still in good condition.

          They are very well made.

You are not allowed to carry them in public but I don't any one is going to shake you down for a 3 inch blade.

This piece costs about $35 at a chef/knife shop so pretty good deal. I just get annoyed that the website won't let me look around without agreeing to sign up to their newsletter.

  • OP - I want to buy this as a birthday gift…will this get to me in Perth within 3 weeks?

    Edit: Just saw this…maybe not…

    Hey REP,

You will lose customers that you may have gotten by forcing registration just to view your gear.

I have a policy of not dealing with such sites, and i am far from alone.

    • I agree. It's like having a customers walk into a store only to turn them away and say "no, members only".

      • +1

There's a skip button to bypass this.

  • we've increased our stock to 70, going pretty quick

  • Yep, bought this knife on ebay last week. its an excellent knife, not too small and not too big.. at least its made in Swizterland, everything else made in China.

$12 is good price.. but not best price ,ozbargainers want the best price ! :))

Yeah.. that registration thing can be annoying.. I guess its to build up their customer base. I prefer ebay, i think the cheapest is $11 delivered for just a single unit, did the buy it now, paypal.. and got it the next day. Awesome.

    • Wenger is also Swiss made and now is owned by Victorinox. Also very good quality.

  • This is the better deal from the same seller as well.

2 Swiss knives and one of those Olin 512mb recorders for just $2 extra.
