Moorabbin, VIC store told me that the sale didn't include PSN cards when I went in a couple days ago. I think you just got lucky. However, I'd love to be proven wrong.
Just got a $50 card at Moorabbin for 30% off. The system automatically applied the discount, and the cashier double checked with a sales guy who confirmed it.
Edit Although strangely, I just noticed they didn't discount the game I also bought (PS3 Uncharted 3 Special Edition) and now I have to go back there…

went to my local HN and had a little argument with the sales person at HN.
PSN store card - no stock and heaps of $30 SEN store card.
he said, the discount is only for PSN store card, not for SEN store card.
i told him, SEN is PSN, they changed their name from Playstation Store to Sony Entertainment Network.he scanned the card, system coming up as $30, no discount and no deal.
The first post only lists the $20 and $50 cards on sale.

I got my $50 PSN from HN Thomastown, it is just a printed voucher, so should be unlimited stock available.
can confirm north ryde has $50 and $30 cards, there was a massive stack so no chance of them running out.

I can confirm I just went to HN Morrabbin Vic & got 2x $30 cards for $42 ($21 each) so 30% off still active.
Very cheap way to get ps+ as it roughly around $50 if you get my deal + an extra $9.95 = the $69.95 for 1yrs ps+ membership. Discount of $19.00 overall.
