Bad experience with Live Connected

Hi everyone,

I having bad experience with Live Connected so I thought I'll share with Ozbargainer since many of my complaints/emails to Live Connected have gone un-answer.

On 16 May 2013 I bought one of Live Connected plan and I've requested my number to be ported from my current network provider and on the same day I received an email saying that the new SIM card has been shipped. Then I waited for a week buy no SIM card on my mailbox before I realized that it's probably been posted to my old address. So I contacted Customer Service about the matter and asked them send it to my new address.

Strange enough I got an unrelated response which read "It is taking longer than expected to bring across (port) your service 04xxxxxxxx, but do not worry, we will let you know as soon as it is done!". At this point I've been disconnected from my old provider, so I have no phone

So I wrote them again in asking them if they can send the SIM card to my new address.
And guess what.. I received an email on 24 May 2013 which read "Woohoo! Your service is activated for mobile number 04xxxxxxxx". What a joke !!! my service has been activated even though I haven't received the SIM card ???.

So again I send them an email telling them they sent to the wrong address. 3 days later, 28 May 2013 I received an email asking if I've received the SIM card, so here I am again telling them that they sent the SIM card to my old address and ask them to send to my new address.

What a frustrating communication and also show how 'professional' Live Connected's customer service is.

On 29 May 2013, I was notified that the SIM will be sent out, But till today 4 June 2013 still no SIM card, So I've been without phone for almost two weeks.

Can you imagine without phone for that long?. I am working on on-call basis, because of this I missed a lot of working opportunities.

What should I do? They don't have contact number. Should I make a complain to government body about this matter ?.

don't rely on live connected for customer service. They are cheap for a reason

    • Yep, your mistake for even bothering with customer service, if all is well, enjoy your dirt cheap phone calls.

Well….you did give them the wrong address…

And the delay could be due to Vaya buying out LC.

      • Leonheart1 how do you know that? Really.? Oh bummer I am porting out of Vaya

I also got bad experience with live connected. I requested my number transfered over to them. My old sim got deactivated on 31 May, so I put in live connected sim card. Phone calls work, but I cannot send/receive sms and no internet. I raised a ticket in their support site over 2 days ago, and there is no reply, no update what so ever. What kind of service is this?

It's been 5 days now without sms and internet. I'm ready to switch network again. Hopefully I can get my money back, since this is just terrible service period.

live connected is being bought out by vaya so their customer service will be worse than usual. This is the worse time to join live connected :)

  • Now i'm stuck, i cant even sign up to other provider because i don't know who got my number

    • you don't need to know who has your number, just rock up to whichever company you want to port to and give them your number and your DOB (+ DL or Passport for ID).

if your number has stopped working on your current sim card, that means its been ported across.

  • Why did you cancel your old number before you even had the simcard? Your main mistake was right there, in addition to giving them your old address.

Sounds like their customer service is useless though, which is reason enough to change providers.

    • I did not cancel my old number, Live Connected ported my number from Vaya. The phone has already been disconnected by them before I received the SIM card.
I did made mistake of giving the old address but I have notified them about that since two weeks ago, and until today still no SIM card in my mailbox

      • Well I think you might want to quickly port your number away. You don't know what can happen since someone else might have your sim and its already activated. If he makes a lot of international calls you will really end up with a headache. My advice is quickly port to a prepaid first, then only port away to a provider of your choice.

  • I have been with live connected for over 2 years now. They are a decent company with decent reception and value to me ($11 per month), although you only love them as long as you have no customer complaints or issues that need attention/help. I have been frustrated with them before, but stuck by cause once you sort them out you are back on cloud 9.

My sister tried them out as well. She had bigger issues with the company, due to no warning and being overcharged in her bill. She requested for details and tried to resolve the issue with them but after about the 5th email, THEY told her they were discontinuing her service. They didn't overcharge her bill (which is good) but on the face of providing any customer service they would rather kick out the customer than to see them happy/satisfied.
