Terms and conditions won't open. So which stores are participating? Coles / Woolies?

    • Still not working. Have used this promo before & excluded supermarkets then.
They are trying to attract business during the $400 million redevelopment.
Many of the carparks are gone, along with OW & Rebel Sports.

      • Rebel has moved inside the centre. I can't remember where though (i have a feeling it's downstairs near dicksmith)

    • Pretty sure it will be those that accept their gift cards only but I have emailed them that the terms & conditions link is not working

      • Usually fasion, etc. From memory, Woolies at Carindale accepts Westfield Gift Cards. I use it there with IGA, when there is a special offer on Gift Cards. These $120 spend deals have been on before at GC.

Not sure if you can just buy $120 Gift Card & get $20!!

I was able to the download the T&C's by "correcting" the URL.

    It's available here:

Claim in person on the day of purchase. One claim per person per day.

The relevant clause for participating retailers.

    1. The Promotion will be conducted at Westfield Garden City Shopping Centre (“Participating Centre”). “Participating Retailers” mean any of the retailers at the Participating Centre except for any Excluded Retailer. An “Excluded Retailer” means any of the following major retailers: Liquor Land, all financial institutes, Ticketek, Medicare, Bupa and Travelex. An “Ineligible Transaction” means any transaction recorded on an invalid receipt, as specified in condition 7 below.

A second important clause relating to Invalid Receipts.

    1. The following receipts are not valid receipts for the purpose of the Promotion: (a) receipt(s) from non-participating retailers and Excluded Retailers (b) receipt(s) recording bill and car park payments and prescription medicine, mobile phone recharge card, lottery ticket and tobacco and tobacco related product purchases; (c) receipts recording Layby payments except where a Layby is finalised and payment completed during the Promotion Period; (d) receipts recording redemption of gift card purchases, store credit, refunds and exchanges; (e) ATM or EFTPOS receipts; (f) credit card or bank statements; and (g) receipts that the Promoter has reasonably determined to have been tampered with or have been obtained fraudulently or are a reprint of the original receipts. The same purchase receipt can only be submitted once in the Promotion. The Promoter reserves the right to stamp and/or photocopy each purchase receipt submitted in the Promotion before returning them.

And finally, the actual steps needed to get your $20 gift card.

    1. To be eligible to participate in this Promotion and claim a gift, eligible individuals must, during the Promotion Period, undertake the following steps:
      (a) Spend $120 or more in any single day during the Promotion Period at any of the Participating Retailers at the Participating Centre, excluding any Ineligible Transaction (“Qualifying Spend”). For clarity, the Qualifying Spend can be made by multiple purchases at multiple Participating Retailers, however, all purchases must be made at the Participating Centre, on one (1) day, during the Promotion Period;
      (b) Present their own original valid receipt(s) recording the Qualifying Spend (which must specify the store and date/time of purchase(s)) on the same day as making the Qualifying Spend to the Westfield Concierge Desk at the Participating Centre; and (c) Supply their full name and a valid email address to be registered to the Westfield database. It is a condition of claiming the gift that claimants agree to this requirement.
    • So no mobile phone recharge card, lottery ticket and tobacco & alcohol,

But Woolies & Gift Card purchase (but not purchases using Gift Cards) is OK :-)

Combine with the Woolies EDR FREE $15/20 Gift Card deal starting next week for 3 weeks in same promo period.

      Starts 3/6
      Ends 7/7

      • I'd be interested to hear other people's views on the gift card.

My reading is that if you used a gift card or store credit to pay for your purchase you can't claim that purchase.

I don't think this would rule out buying a gift certificate and paying with cash / CC / EFT etc.

That's my reading. On way to try.

Am at Brissie International Airport after 2 free Coffee Club drinks. (FREE coffee, Wi-Fi, showers, buses, interesting views, Rivers at DFO with $50 free voucher deal… an OBers dream?)

Will take free bus to DFO & 590 bus straight to Garden City (1 zone, so about $1.35 on concession/student)! A cheap day out!

        • I wish I was as deligent as you!

  • My wife was just there. You can shop at coles / woolies and claim it. The promo closes until the card is finished or I think Sunday. She heard from the customer service talking to another customer service saying "we only have 10 more" so I am not sure if 10 more left and they get more or that is it. So don't assume you will get the $20 gift card. I did call customer service earlier and she was telling me the aim is to support the shops and that I should not abuse this promo then asking me why I was after the gift card?. I really found it rude of them to be asking this type of question. I answered if I am spending there then I want to avail of the benefit they are offering then she replied well each one has their reason. She did say that she expected the card to be finished today or tomorrow.

    • June promotion Starts 3/6 Ends 7/7
…or when they run out of cards! (T&C)
      Running out already :(

  • Off to buy $120 of Gift Cards from Woolies with ING PayWave to save $6 & get a bonus $20 card from Westfield, before that ING deal runs out at end of month. I want at least that much any way. Worth a try :-)

Unless anyone can interpret not valid for redemption of Gift card purchases?? I read that as you can't pay for purchases using a gift card.

  • Worked for me. I shopped at Coles and got my gift card without any problems. I can't see them having any left after this weekend.

    The T&C's says $20000 - therefore 1000 gift cards.

There was a queue for the concierge - first time I've seen that. Three people claimed them at the same time as me.

  • I was there today, spent $487 at Harvey Norman.
Thought I should get 4x$20 gift card.
    Now way Jose, only $20.
Ah well, to support the great economy.

    • No, 1 claim per $120 (or more if only 1 receipt) per person per day.
4 could be claimed if broken into 4 x $120+ receipts, if claimed by 4 people (or less people if you smiled nicely like me)

      • You must be very charming :-))
I was told categorically that to qualify, you need to spend over $120.
And then you are given ONE card per person, per day.
Fortunately I wasnt aware of it beforehand. So $20 is a windfall.
Anyhow, if I am aware, I probably could have done a lay-by….

        • I have been called many things - charming wasn't on the list :-)
(Have used mass hypnosis sessions as part of my old business, in an ethical context.)

  • Can purchase of $120 Woolies Gift Cards be used for the promo? The answer YES - it worked
5:10pm bought 4 $60 Woolies Gift Cards (with ING PayWave rebate of $3 per card!) (I was going to buy Gift Cards this month.)
    5:20pm Submitted receipts in 2 $120 lots
told there is a limit of 1 per person per day, but got 2 $20 cards! - Its all in the way you sell it :)
So $280 ($240 credit with Woolies + $40 with Westfield) for $228, after ING rebate. $52 in a few minutes. I'm happy.

    Bad News
6:15pm last couple of cards being issued
as I went home (on a free bus ride)
Told that was it. the 1 tray had been emptied, but that may not be correct. The batteries in my portable lie detector were flat.
Estimate that the 1 tray of cards (300-500mm long as a guess) would contain 300-500 1mm thick Gift cards.
"June" (Promo) has finished already!! 4 days & all gone :(

But worth checking if any are left!!

  • Bruce, i went there last week none left one day after receiving the email. they shouldn't have included woolies and coles. btw whats this free bus to DFO ? what no. and where do i catch it from? is it just the courtesy bus from the airport? ref http://www.airtrain.com.au/dfo.php

    • Free bus DFO to/from International Terminal. Leaves near Coffee Club opposite DFO car park.

590 bus from Garden City to DFO is all Zone3. Cheaper than toll on Gateway Bridge, if 1 or 2 in car. Plus no parking fees.

      • thanks Bruce. yes but no parking fees at GC westfield is only until july 8th then its only the first 3 hours.

        • True, but I was referring to the expensive airport parking :-)

I live near Carindale, which has charged for parking since the upgrade sometime back. As I am not allowed to drive after losing my memory, it doesn't affect me :-)
But there is free WiFi for 3 hours as well.
