  • I'm getting a whole lot of this when I search (on Firefox):
    Access Denied
You don't have permission to access "http://booking.airasia.com/Compact.aspx" on this server.
    Reference #18.428e0bd2.1373440100.1452f7d5

    no issue using chrome.

    • I get "POOF The page has taken off" with chrome .

  • it's ok, but neeed 2 or more ppl.
during off peak i can get return to china for around $600 and travel by myself.
Too bad it's not pay for one way and another one way free!

  • +2

    ++++1 for the detail ;)

  • On 27 Sept PER - KUL $174 each for 2 pax. If one pax, $199 on same day. Not really 2 - 4 - 1.

  • +4

Fake Advertisement…. They use original price to calcualte, can't stack with promo price…

For Example (Same Day, Same Flight):
    1 Pax - Promo Price $219
    2 Pax - Normal Price $349/2 = $174.50

It ends up about 20% off only

    • I might be wrong, but I think the Promo Price is the half-priced ticket, and the Normal Price is what it is.

I just bought some, with the Syd > Seoul being Promo and Seoul > Syd being Normal. There was no change in price after that (ie, no half price on the Normal Price).

I'm pretty sure that what the Promo Price is, already has the half price factored in (assuming you have 2-8 people in the booking).

  • anyone been to taipei? Is there enough to do for two weeks?

    • +2

Yep and 2 weeks is a very long time to spend in just Taipei unless you just want to laze around and eat & shop.

Either get out of the city or take a cheap flight to Osaka.

      • Thnx. Wanted to do japan but couldn't find cheap flights from KL-Jap for the period I'm after

    • 2 weeks is not enough. Not kidding. 3 weeks, and then you can start on other cities.

  • +1

$349pp one way from Perth to KL?

Or is the 'special' price already factored for 2 people? If so, meh - it's not really that much of a discount. Every other day of the year it's $199pp one way from Perth to KL. A whopping saving of $49 for 2 people with this deal.

    Maybe I'm wrong… who knows.

    • +1

yepp… its only about 20% off only. They use original price for 2 ppl

    • I just found flights for 2 people for $582 PER->KL RETURN which seems like a pretty sweet deal, even if you say it's usually $199pp one way.

  • +1

Can't seem to find any specials for Tokyo around the pre and post Christmas period using this sale…

    • The cheapest I found was $800ish return from Melbourne - Tokyo. Not too bad, considering Jetstar sale fares end a week or two before Christmas and the cheapest I could find elsewhere is $1800.. @_@

      • Yeah, I tried some more and I ended up finding just <800pp if I was willing to have an almost month trip over there haha. Christmas pricing usually costs double normal price.

    • Hi tanoshiiki, i booked to Tokyo yesterday it was $609 aud return with 20kg luggage per person and 2 meals as well!

      • That's pretty amazing, although was it during Christmas time (as in includes spending Christmas in Japan)?

  • +1

    I hate the LCCT!

    • you can blame the malaysian government for holding up LCCT 2 :D

      • Is this the low cost terminal? Yeah its rubbish. Not even any decent food options.

        • at least they provide free wifi

        • Didn't work when I was there.

  • Managed to score the very last cheap flights for a particular date… just.

Warning to all: Do not cancel a paypal screen, your booking will go missing and all cheap tickets will be sold out… had to reload paypal from history and confirm from that… tense moments.

  • even if I choose 2 passengers, price doesn't show up as advertised. I tried Per-Kul on 27th Sep, it is coming as $399 instead of advertised $349. Am I missing something?

    • usually the price changes depending on dates, those listed above could be the lowest it will ever go

      try a different date/month

+1 for the ►s. great first post.

  • Yes!!

Syd > KL > Seoul for $848.50 return in January. Not all promo, but still a great combination.

    Thanks :)

not bad for snow season in japan
$1018 return in Feb for 2.

    • although one person is only $880 for those dates so not really 2 for 1 but still a good deal

Good tip for people when booking air asia: book one way in AUD and the return trip in MYR..works out a lot cheaper. I just worked a trip for 2 going to Kuala Lumpur, Phuket and Bangkok for $340 return each.

    • How much was it if you pay both in AUD?

      • Date Origin Destination Cost
        1/02/2014 OOL (09:05) KUL (15:25) $309
        KUL (16:00) HKT (16:30) $85

        8/02/2014 HKT (08:50) DMK (09:25) $48

        15/02/2014 DMK (19:30) KUL (20:55) $61

        16/02/2014 KUL (09:50) OOL (20:30) $174

                                   TOTAL $677

                                      /2 $338.50

That is what I had worked out, the last flight which was $174 AUD when converted from MYR, if booked as a return would have been $264…so $90 saving on the exact same flight

  • Voted ++++ just for a great first post. Very detailed!!!!

  • My return flight gonna be HK->KL->SYD do I have to collect baggage in KL and check-in again? Coz only 1hr 20 mins for transit.

    • if all booked with one "Airline", you should not have to worry about the luggage.

    • Yes you do because HK to KL is via Air Asia. KL to MEL or SYD is Air Asia X.

The same airline, but technically different.

Air Asia X is their brand for long haul international.

PS: I've experienced this previously when transiting at LCCT via Air Asia.

    • Not sure if this is helpful but.

What happens to my baggage if I have an onward flight with AirAsia?
AirAsia operates on a point-to-point basis, or a per sector basis.

This means onward flights are considered as separate journeys, or separate sectors. Therefore, you need to claim your baggage from your first sector flight and re-check them in for the subsequent flight. You will have to go through immigration check (if arriving from an international sector) and must check in again at the check-in counter to obtain your boarding pass. In this context, AirAsia will not be held responsible for the consequence of any delays experienced while flying AirAsia.

If you have purchased a "Fly-thru" flight then kindly ensure that your baggage is checked in all the way through to the final destination during checkin for the 1st leg of your flight and you should proceed to the transfer counter upon arrival at the transit station. Example Bali-Kuala Lumpur-Gatwick, Bali will be the 1st leg, Kuala Lumpur will be the transitting station and Gatwick will be the final destination. This only applies if you have purchased a "Fly-thru" otherwise what was stated in paragraph above applies.

      • ^^ this

        I booked KUL->SYD and separately booked HKT->KUL
I could not check baggage through.

If I had purchased HKT->SYD via KUL in one booking, they said I could have checked thru bags (although can't confirm as I didn't do this)

Beware you need to leave time to collect bags and check back in to next flight in KUL LCCT.

1hr 20 min is cutting it VERY fine.

    • If you booked that trip on a single ticket (same itinerary number), as a Fly-Thru (clearly stated through booking process), then as long as you check-in your baggage to the final destination at the start of your trip, you will not need to pick it up at the transit point.

    • Thanks guy for all the replies, is a single ticket since I selected Syd->HK return.

      • No it is not a single ticket. Single booking yes, single ticket no.

As the poster above stated, every flight is a separate ticket. The instant you get off a plane it is a new ticket.

The low cost carrier terminal (LCCT) does not even have an international flight transfer zone. The instant you get off the plane, every single person on that plane must go through immigration onto Malaysian territory and collect their bags.

After that you need check your bags back in at the counter and go back through immigration again to depart Malaysian territory for your "connecting" flight (and I use the term 'connecting' loosely. They will not wait for you to connect).

That is why the user above recommended you leave enough time between "connecting" flights to check in through immigration, collect bags, check back in your bags, go through immigration and security, and board the next plane.

        • That's not true, the LCCT has a flight transfer hall right when you go through arrivals. It was there in December when I went. It's designed for their marketed "fly-thru" services where they clearly state you do not need to pick up your bags and re check-in.

  • anybody wanna pair up with me for Mid-Jan Syd-Kul flight?

  • :( why there's no deal for ticket to Vietnam :(

  • is it just me or do they not ask for passport numbers when booking for the flight?!

    • is optional during the process of purchasing. you can enter the passport number later in Manage My Booking section but of course have to do it before you fly(i think 48 hours prior to that)

  • Sorry, but can someone please help me? I've never booked a flight anywhere before and was looking to go to Japan (Tokyo preferably, but Osaka is okay too). But when I tried to process it it came up with a bunch of extra fees and taxes so it was costing a lot more then I had intended T_T I really wanted to surprise my boyfriend… sigh booking flights is more effort then I had originally thought!

    • Hi pyro, it's becuase you booked way too late, last night at 12 i managed to score, 600 return with 20kg luggage, i think it originally stated 207.50 per person which adds up to 415 for two and fees + seats and if you wanted the 20kg luggage adds up to $609 exactly return, having that said you have to keep clicking different flights and checking the dates because people have been booking a lot and that it's only a few selections of dates left that discounts to 207.5 per person (oneway) you just got to keep clicking. For example return date for tok to australia is 207.5 from 10th- 18th of march 2014, i only know this because i booked feb-march

      • What do you mean way too late? It's that deal valid from 6-10 june when you book? So are you saying that because you had booked earlier in the week, that you managed to not get those extra taxes and fees and stuff? Also, I thought this was a BOGOF deal? so when you're saying its 207.50pp what do you mean? Thankyou so much though chingaling! :)

        • oh as in let's say each date they have about 10 seats on that plane for that price, and it's pretty much first in first serve, so you've just got to be one one of the first few that book on that date! And when you select the right days it works out to be (415 for two people one way) then when you add taxes and seat reservations it would add up to $609

        • oh okay, so you still have the taxes and all that.. sigh :( when you say two people, one of them is free right? when I went to the page and stuff I didn't understand why it was multiplying it by two and all these random ad-ons it ended up being about $1000… thankyou again :)

  • it should be 1000 for 2 ish return mine was 1150? return for 2 people, thats like …. 300 each way. its not too bad. you cant really do better so.. :S cause on this site. the "489.00 " is like one way without taxes. and trips to tokyo from australia are usually cheapest 800-1000 RETURN per person so its still a relatively good deal
