1730

AppGratis, the free-app-a-day application, is today offering a free lifetime licence for Cerberus, the excellent anti theft application.

Cerberus - normally provided with a one week free trial and a €2.99 lifetime upgrade - allows you to remote control your lost / stolen phone through the www.cerberusapp.com website or via text messages and also can be configured to send automatic alerts if someone uses your phone with an unauthorized SIM card.

To get your free licence, install Cerberus and when you sign up / activate you will receive an e-mail notifying you that your free lifetime licence has been activated.

This offer expires at 11pm EST, June 7.

We also received feedback from users that have an account with the free trial expired and would like to take advantage of the promotion. These users can log into www.cerberusapp.com, click on the "Delete account" link that will appear, and then create a new account through the app. (Via Facebook)

    • it send to your email address

      • hmmm.. i did check that, havent received anything. i did this over 12 hours ago. not in my junk email either…

        • Servers are being hammered at the moment.

          Wait and try again tomorrow.

  • Does this app KILL the phone's speed? My phone becomes SO SO SO LAGGY when using PC to remotely controlling or taking pic with the Galaxy Nexus and playing with the functions.
    Everything seems to freeze up.

    • everyday use it runs using 6.4mb as a cached process and shouldn't be really be using much cpu or ram since it's just waiting for the start tracking signal to start. It barely uses any resources in the background.

Also take a look at what apps are running in the settings and uninstall some if they're using up all your ram.

  • How come the deal is still listed as on? Is it still on? Cause on app gratis it says it's over.

    • give it a try might be.
Download the app from the Play store and sign up for an account through the app.
You'll receive a Sign up email and a second email stating "Hi,
The license for your "[username]" Cerberus account has been activated for free, thanks to a promotion in collaboration with AppGratis.

Please open Cerberus on your device and log in to access the app settings, you should not see the "Buy license" option anymore. This means that the lifetime license for your account is active."

      if its still on.

Even if it's not still on, this is an app you should buy even if you don't get it for free this is one of my Mandatory android device apps.

  • I'm going to test all the features in a mock theft, so i know how to go about it if the unthinkable happens.

    • +2

      Excellent Idea everyone should!
just be aware when taking video/pictures it will appear in your choosen email so if you have email notification and are using the same email that your using on the phone the theif will recieve email notifications with thier face all over it so maybe change your cerberus email account to an account not linked to your phone.

  • Granted it cheers

  • Already expired at 9pm :(

Edit: got an email saying app is free after registering. Can confirm it seems to be still working.

  • aww dam missed it

    • Still super awesome you should buy it anyway :D
and if 3.99 is too expensive wait for one of those telstra sim deals and use it as google play credit on a prepaid account. to get 66% off.
