Canon EOS-M Twin Lens Kit $299.25 Dicksmiths Glendale NSW

440

Thought I would share this with the ozbargain community. Saw this bargain at Dicksmiths Glendale Store NSW

A Stunning Price especially for a TWIN lens kit.

Sad thing is that it just missed out on the cashback offer.
https://www.canon.com.au/EOSMCashback/Terms-Conditions

If it could qualify for the cashback it would make it an awesome bargain.

I Saw that there was 2 in stock but you might wanna give them a call on 02 49569940

I would love to buy one, however i've recently spent too much on GoPro accessories otherwise i'd get one to join my Sony Nex-5n ;D
Sorry for lack of review links, in a rush to go to work.
Enjoy guys.

  • Damn none left in WA….awesome price though

  • Canon just announced a firmware upgrade for this camera too which is meant to improve the auto focus speed which was the only real negative in reviews

  • Buy me one and post it out

    • So the OP gets a neg because nil stocks in SA ???

      • Many think they shouldn't be posted in the first place.

Well is it a deal if they dont have any in stock? Hold on moron let me inundate you with sold out bargains…

        • +6

These Dick deals are going to cause an all in brawl one day. Dick is turning ozbargainer against fellow ozbargainer.

Dick is turning ozbargainer against fellow ozbargainer.

Usually it only happens to women.

        • +1

Really? I don't think Dick sell shoes.

        • Great response, this cracked me up.

  • In sydney, i called a few stores and was told in east gardens and rockdale are showing one.

    • I doubt it's still left then I guess

    • Yeah, both are out of stock now. :(

  • Are those display models?

  • -3

Called norwood SA, none in SA.

    • Yes you mentioned that earlier. Maybe revoke your neg, hopefully people will do the ring around tomorrow and snatch one up :-)
DSE are not real crash hot with their inventory levels, there could be 3 units at someones local that aren't up on their system, stranger things have happened.

      • +1

Just wanted people to not waste time..

        • +1

          In SA.

        • Fair call Alfonso, but I've snagged heaps of stuff that is showing as nil stocks in stores, then when I get there…there it is! They don't stocktake too well at DSE.

        • Happened for me today.

  • +1

My god, didn't expect this camera to drop in price to so low. Canon must not have been selling it well.

  • +1

Doesn't DS currently also have 50% off ticketed clearance prices? I know they did yesterday. Got myself a Nikon J1 for about $149.

    • where?

      • Shepparton, Vic. They had still one or two J1 single lens kits left at around lunch time Friday. Wouldn't really recommend the camera though, at least I prefer Olympus Pens to it.

        • 1 in narrewarren without charger
          no more in victoria….

  • There are some good bargains about, I scored a Nikon J1 with twin lens kit for $167.25.
It was ex demo, the only issue being a finger print on the larger lens. Well happy. (Runaway Bay, QLD)
    The NEX F3 needed a friend….

    • i scored the J1 with single lens kit only for $148.50… should definitely get twin lens for less than $20 bucks more

  • Have to root for this one. damn good price

  • Quick look on JB Hifi (not exactly the same cause i don't think the one i saw today came with a flash, but i could be wrong. JB sells it for $838. One hell of a big difference.

    http://www.jbhifi.com.au/photo/digital-cameras/canon/eos-m-c…

Same price of $838 at Harvey Norman

A review for those that are interested.

And the cheapest grey import i could find online with free shipping was $630.

  • For that price, I am willing to fly over to Sydney, come back and still have enough money for lenses!! Has anyone found stock in Victoria?

    • +3

      -Call Dick Smith
-"Yes, we have a few left"
      -Cancel work
      -Buy ticket to Sydney
      -Fly over there
      -Go into Dick Smith
-"Sorry, they are all now reserved for our staff"

      FUUUUUUUUU-

      • Yeah but how many times have you heard people complain that they get told there is stock and by the time they get to the store then suddenly all the stock has gone?

I suppose the problem is that when you ask them to check stock they look it up on the computer and then see the price is WOW. Then after the call the staff says thank you sir I might get one of those for myself.

        • +1

Yeah guys but that why you never call the store you want to pick up from.

Instead you call another store that way out ask if they got stock and then ask them to check on their system if the store you really want to buy from has stock.

Think I will wander over to Glendale for opening time today. Probably none left, but worth the trip, just in case.

  • It's a rubbish camera for the RRP but at this price it's a damn nice camera.

    • It's a fantastic price and it is far from a rubbish camera at it's RRP. I wonder if you have ever used one. The only criticism is a slow AF system. The system itself is capable of brilliant shots in the right hands. Ver2 firmware is being released at the end of this month and is supposed to improve AF speed by 2.3x

      • If you are familiar with the other mirrorless offerings then you'd know the Canon M is incredibly underwhelming and late to the party of a very exciting emerging camera category.

Try the sony or fuji offerings and then tell me you still enjoy the EOS M.

        • I'd say the EOS M is directly comparable with the NEX-3n and Fujifilm's future entry level model that's coming. Remember, you can't compare the EOS-M to a NEX-7 or PRO1. It's perfectly fine for what it is. It also has a cheap 22/2 (Sony 24/1.8 and Fujifilm future 23/1.4 cost around $1000) and the upcoming 11/22 wideangle is half the price of the Sony 10-18. If you look at the EOS M system as a high end enthusiast camera, then yes of course you're going to be disappointed because it only came out last year, has 2 available lenses, no 3rd party lenses and only an entry level base model body.

  • All gone

  • 1 black display model left at Runaway Bay!

  • It's all about at store before 10am and gamble the store u went still hv stocks

  • This is not really a bargain as their should be around how much across the whole country?

Less than 50 i should say. Thanks for post anyway.

    • +1

Less than 10 i should say

      • Few on ebay

  • +1

You don't get what you want and complain their sacrifice times. Thank you OP. Without you, I don't even know a really great bargain exist.

  • I am not going to start a new post for this because there probably won't be much stock but while looking for the camera I found some WD my book essential 2TB USB 3 hdd for $37.12. The DS code is XM1267

    • Thanks :)

    • was this ever on the site?

      • Must have been. Obviously old stock but still USB 3 and at that price a bargain.

  • +2

Thanks, I have been wanting one of these for a while. Snapped up the last one from Warrawong DickSmith for $299.25.

  • ellenbrook in WA has the canon eos m ( 2 i think)

Thanks OP, just got back from a 3 hour drive to Traralgon and managed score the last one they had.
Just waiting now for the firmware update V2.0 at the end of June.
    Top job thehammer88.

    • Glad it helped, Glad to make a contribution to the ozbargain community. =]

  • Many thanks to OP for posting this deal. Also managed to score one from Traralgon too.

  • thanks OP, got one at Robina QLD.
Several stores in QLD/near Brisbane still have the display model available.
Mt Ommaney QLD has one new, but might be picked up by now.

The twin lens kit also comes with the speedlite! amazing deal.

  • Thanks OP. Managed to score one.

  • Many thanks from me too, signed up just to say so..

btw: my local store said the price was $229, I'm really happy of course and thanks again for posting.. :)

  • Man, if only there were stocks near me. I'd sell my Pentax Q for this one.

  • A few of them are now on eBay . None left in Sydney

  • Got the last one at Norwood, SA. Officially none left in SA as of 5pm.

  • When I called they said there was a few (1 or 2) left in QLD: MacKay, Noosa, Burleigh Heads.

  • +3

Look at this person http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/marantz2600/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1… . You can tell they are an ozbargainer by the things they are selling. They had this on ebay even before this was posted by the OP. It would be nice if people like this could sometimes make some valuable contributions rather than constantly leeching from this website.

    • $501 sold just then!

      • And has now been relisted. Obviously his own bid from a fake account ended up being the winning bid.

  • +1

Hopefully some of you found this deal a bargain. I was hesitant at first to post or not to post cause of all the Dicksmith bargains that had low stock or if not next to none.

But those of you that managed to score one for yourself, Congrats ! =D

    • Thank you for posting, I am so happy with this sick deal (although had to do a bit of footwork to get it)!.
I hope the rest of the community continues sharing deals like this!

  • I bought this last week before the cashback expired and I know my local store has stock.
This was after management stuffed me around and would not pricematch $330

    See forum post

    • cashback ended last month so coulnt get it ?

  • +1

i managed to find one ( a nikon J1) in the perth CBD shop yesterday arvo - wanted to organise someone to pick it up today… they would not put aside for me, they would not let me pay for it over the phone… they just would not help!! (mugs)
called 1st thing this morning - was "sold" late afternoon…
    buggers!

dealing with dick smith really is a mixed bag - sometimes I find them really helpful - other times I feel like some high velocity lead therapy is needed!

  • I was curious so went in to the DSE store in Bourke St Melbourne today and got told that they didn't have any and it was a "discontinued product"…

BUT I did manage to score the Sony DSC-RX100 which is mentioned in another thread. It's a MUCH better camera in my opinion.

  • Thanks OP… great deal! Wouldn't have bought it at full price because of the lack of viewfinder, but at $300 it's an absolute steal! Got mine (after quite a few phone calls) from Broken Hill. I called individual stores and as far as I can gather there is possibly one still in Burnie TAS. For those who got DSE stock # XG0722 did it come with the 90ex speedlite?

    • yes, the 90ex was included in my box, same item number.

      • Thank you! Another question, is the EF/EF-S mount adaptor included?

        • the ef/ef-s to ef-m adapter is unfortunately not included…
I'm thinking of getting a non-brand adapter from ebay, they are going for ~$50 shipped

        • cheers!
