Olin Fusion SD/USB Card 4GB $2 @ Officeworks

370

Not sure why you would need an USB&SD memory card in one. Might be useful to someone.

Update 10/06: Still in stock in WA (must set postcode in the top right hand corner)

I'd imagine it'd be convenient for you to transfer your photos out if you didn't have an adapter on hand.
I have one of these and it was pretty handy to have when I went on holidays.

    • Good point but I thought most laptops these days comes with an SD slot. Guess it's good for those that dont.

Good idea except if you tried to put it in your camera you can't close the flap…

nah its only the size of a normal SD but just with a bit cut out.

        • you just blew my mind…

        • wow cant tell by the picture =\

My SD card is like this one, and having the USB on it is extremly useful, especially if you are downloading photos onto a desktop computer, or want to download photos onto a work computer or friends computer and there is no SD card reader around. These SD cards are very hard to come across, but would recommend buying this to anyone.

  • Hmm, might be good for tinkering with the R Pi! :)

those things are so shit, regret getting one

        Really? I quite like mine.

Tell me, how did it not meet your expectations???

        • I've put the image on the SD card, boot it up, works only sometimes, you have to keep restarting it to get it working.

        • +1

So to be clear, we're talking about the Pi itself here?

If so, you must have a bad/incompatible SD card, or faulty Pi, coz mine is rock solid.

    • I just put an order of 2 after your post, so it might be just a glitch in the system? Try again?

      • Tried again, now saying "Out of Stock"…

        • Different states have different distribution centres. So Wollongong will have different stock levels to Gold Coast.

  • Out of stock now

  • Got enough SD cards to last me the Zombie Apocalypse….bought 2 more.

  • It's not out of stock everywhere, for example there's still some in South Melbourne, VIC.

  • Out of stock in SA.
Should I order a few and get them shipped for around $0.75/GB each or go to MSY and get Class 10 at $1/GB ?

    SD 1.1 compatible
SD 2.0 compatible (4GB and higher capacity)
    USB 2.0 compatible
    4G High Speed Class 6
    Windows 2000, Windows XP, Vista

    • My guess: It'll work in Win 7 & 8, etc.

      YMMV

  • A plus for combo: Thinner things are easier to post.

A possible issue: Touching the contacts & ends may leave oil/dirt/microbes from finger & thumb, that could add unwanted resistance or capacitance in the connections & might even contaminate the inside of your computer a bit over time.
