I would just buy tasker app and let it do everything (and more) in the above "Why this app will save battery?"
tasker cost a fraction of this and fun to use. $10 bucks for an app is a lot in my books

    • Though this is actually free, I'd definitely wouldn't pay $10 to rid of ads on an app I should barely have to open.

    • its free today,

    • Good question to ask from 28,253 people who rated

      Don't spend $10. it's free today..

  • is this worth using with the 'Stamina Mode' on the xperia z?

    • +1

The NEW xperia z with the 'Stamina Mode' makes you last longer….

Now who wouldn't want to do that ?

      • I meant with both the app and the stamina mode, or does the stamina mode make the app redundant?

    • You'd definitely want to stick with Sony's original battery apps, I have confidence Sony did a better job. This is more for our poor samsung friends :D

I wonder how this ends up being a ~$10 saving.

The main app was released Oct 2012. Always a free app. The "Ad Remover" app was just released and priced at around $10.

All the other ad remover apps for this developer come in around a buck or two

This free app stuff ("OMG save 10 BUX!!!!) smells real scammy to me

    • +2

yes think about it & don't activate today. Check the price tomorrow.

  • "1.Automatically disable WiFi and data connection after you turning off your screen(with 15~20 secs latency)."

If this app turns off wifi and data connection after 15 seconds after turning screen off, how will we get notification and messages from whtsapp and facebook?

But then i read "2.Genius Sync, allow app to sync every 15 minutes but save battery."

So does it mean that it turns off data and wifi after 15 seconds of turning screen off but it does turn them again every 15 minutes.

Some expert can throw more lights.

Also this apps looks much better purely based on review ratings:

I have JuiceDefender (same thing) and it works exactly how you describe so I assume this app would be the same.

The paid version of juicedefender (which I haven't tried yet) lets you change the option to 10, 5, 2 minutes etc but that might defeat the purpose of the program if it's done too often? I'm not sure.

      • JD never on discount, otherwise I would use it

    • Thanks for letting me know about Greenify. I've not found an app like that before. It's awesome!

      • yep greenify is awesome and helps your phone from lagging too

  • +3

These type of apps are just placebo. I tried most of them and gained no real improvement. Anyway, its free.

  • The best battery saving app thing an Android user could install is Jellybean.

    • So do you mean Jellybean is saving battery..

      • Jellybean, the Android Operating System.

        • +2

Yeah I know you were talkin about OS. I tried GB/ICS/JB on my sensation but none of them are drastically different in terms of battery life.

The best battery saving thing this Android user has tried is: Stop playing Ingress.

[Works every time. Extends my battery life by 12 hours or so]

  • About the developer App of the Day says:

Asha Khare is only 18 years old, but she has already revolutionized the smart phone industry. invented a super-capacitor which allows you to fully charge your smart phone battery within 20-30 seconds. Even Google wants to hire the young inverter,

  • I don't think this is the developer - this is an unrelated story which App Of The Day included in the description

    • Apology.
Edit: About the developer: "As App Of The Day says''

      • haha it's a cool story anywayz… thanks

  • Bummer. Not compatible with my tablet. Oh well.

  • How do you put the code for ICS 4.04? Where is "app. parameters"?

    • It Depends on your phone or tab I think. For my one(Sony) settings in on right hand side bottom tab

  • I use this one for both my phone and tablet.

Option to sync every 5,10, 15, 30 min, 1 or 3 hours while screen is off.

Got the full version for free a while back so I'm not sure how much it costs now.

I personally use Automateit Pro. If you set up rules to have wifi only at home and flight mode between the hours of 11.30pm-6 am, you can save heaps of battery.

  • I don't like the idea of wifi and data cutting out after the screen turns off. If I want to update a bunch of apps, or download something big/slow, I need to leave the screen on?

    • +1

It's quite easy to disable temporarily. Well, the one I'm using anyway.

  • If I download today and then next two months I install this app to my other device, do I still get this app for free and still NO ADS?

  • I reckon my pals won't be able to call me on VIBER if the data is cut off. It may save the battery but will also sort of disconnects from the world of free calls. I think instead of cutting off the data altogether, these apps should detect the applications which are using the data and allow you to exclude the ones you want to stay connected.

  • +1

    Looks pretty good.

I would also recommend Battery Widget Reborn Beta, it's also free and has a really good notification tray interface.

Can even turn ur torch on from the notification tray which is my favourite feature.

  • Bugger not compatible with my Nexus 7 :(

  • +7

be very careful that apps such as this which cut off the data connections and then establish new ones creates new data sessions. Depending on the carrier some count in 1MB blocks which means that each time the session is started a new 1MB block will count even if only 100KB of data is downloaded.

    • Wow I never realised that was a thing. Sneaky carriers getting us again… Is there anyway to check if your carrier does this or not?

  • …free App, Thanks again, WNK…love your work in a short space of time.

  • +1

I've been using this for about a year now; I still receive Viber, Tango, Line, WhatsApp, Skype, etc, calls and texts.

Great app along with Advanced Task Manager, also from the same company.

I should say that I do think it's dependent on your phone. It took me ages to find a good battery saver. I even used the major ones like JuiceDefender and found that it was depleting my battery more than if it were not installed. Give Battery Defender a try but be watchful.

    • So, given you think:
      a) that it is a "Great app" and
      b) "it's dependent on your phone"

Please tell us what phone you have that it is working great with.

  • It is free? great , will go and have a look
    Thanks for the information

  • Why my tablet isn't compatible with the battery defender

  • Go Power Master is ok, not going to use another…
