Heya guys, my friend works for this company and he just let me in about a deal they've got. Just an update, they managed to get the item onto the site, so you may browse the item online now :) Feel free to call them still though!

As of 13/6/13, there is still stock of these laptops. If there is no stock, the site will advise so!

It's the Lenovo X230T as follows:

Just to clarify, these are BRAND NEW.

X230T(3437CTO) specs:

FREE shipping too.

Their number : 1300 745 528

Their email : [email protected]

Once more for good luck: THESE ARE BRAND NEW AND NOT EX DEMOS OR REFURBS.

They also seem to have deals pretty often on their site that might be worth a look, but this is a big one and I thought you guys might be interested.

Good luck!

  • sounds like a used or refurbished item

    • I asked my friend, they're absolutely brand new. It has full vendor warranty.

  • It seems like a good price (if the product is confirmed to be new and not refurbished). Although if the box is opened, would it be classified as used ?

    • It is a great price and it's brand new, my friend confirmed it. Again it still has Lenovo's vendor warranties.

    How many units are there?
Sounds like there is only 1?

Where's the link to the actual product?

Has the product been turned on?

This just sounds like a demo model being cleared.

    • There's more than 1 unit. Email them to find out how many they have.

If you read my post, they haven't put it onto the site.

'the deal is not on their website. YOU HAVE TO CONTACT THEM about it'

This is not a demo product. If you read the posts above, it is a brand new item.

It's all a bit vague, "I don't actually know anything contact the website"

I did read you just gave no real information

        • That's not even something I said. But I addressed all your questions in the original post. All the information is provided, I don't really see what I'm lacking? Is there something you would like me to try find out?

        • +1

^ Why don't you find out all the info and tell us

        • I believe they're closed right now.

And I'm unsure of what you guys even want to know? I answered all of ZRX's questions.

        • Don't take any notice of them - they're trying to wind you up.
You gave all the info needed in your first post.

  • Discounted to make room for the Helix?

    • I have no idea what a helix even is, but I'm 99% sure they're the only people in Australia right now to have this product at this discount.

I would be very cautious with this seller, here's a photo of their first sale on the 1st of March https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/11191…

    • And what is the problem with the picture?

      • Not much of a history for those looking at buying.

Also the ABR lookup here http://www.abr.business.gov.au/SearchByAbnHistory.aspx?Searc… lists Vic 3004 as the main business address whilst the website lists

Head office and main distribution centre & Postal address doesn't match up.

<MOD: Link to ABR is okay, but don't post the info here>

        • It's a new company. I don't think it's appropriate to judge their merit based off the fact that they only started recently. My friend works there, so I GUARANTEE you that it's legit. If you're that paranoid, feel free not to take advantage of this deal.

I'd appreciate it if you redirected any of your concerns to the site itself.

But you're the REP, if you didn't feel you could answer the question which come with every deal posted perhaps you should have abstained.

Also I notice reading through their Terms and Conditions they have taken Terms and Conditions from a clothing store and applied those to a IT store, very half arsed.
One example below but there are many more.

          http://www.rikkaus.com.au/content/3-terms-and-conditions

12.4 Where relevant, Products supplied are tested to comply with relevant standards, and at the time of delivery meet these standards. We take no responsibility for Products that do not comply to relevant standards due to mishandling or misuse. Events that can cause the Products not to comply with relevant standards include:
12.4.1 keeping the Products for an extended period of time
          12.4.2 extensive UV exposure
12.4.3 adding branding by way of printing or embroidery on to the Products
          12.4.4 general soiling
          12.4.5 misuse; or
12.4.6 failure to follow specified washing and handling instructions, or instructions for use.

        • I'm sorry if my REP status is confusing, the TOS of this site said I had to proclaim myself as a rep if I was a friend of someone who works there, which I am. Again I'm trying to answer all your questions, but the best source for answers is obviously directly from them.

I believe that they actually sell products past computers off-site, and hence why they've got an overlying TOS for efficiency.

Don't mess with ZRXS12! Thumbs up on checking T&C. Any comment on the laptop though?

    • +1

Appears to be a good deal, apparently they open it up and upgrade it to a 256gb SSD and a 8GB RAM.
But not sure how it stacks up against the competition.
Bit bulky, more for work I think.
Also you don't know what SSD they are going to put in, might be a really slow model or a low grade model.

If it's legit (we have no idea how many are available or if they're even available at all)…

It's ~$2,232 direct from Lenovo right now (not sure why the OP has it as $2,236 but a $4 difference is hardly a misrepresentation).

      So the price is good.

But make sure a 12.5" low res touch screen is what you're after. 'cause if you're not, there are better options.

At that price point, I'd go for a 13" 256GB MacBook Air or an imported ZenBook Prime.

      • Do they come with a digitizer and work with a wacom pen ? When I was looking at this particular model a few weeks ago, I thought to forgo resolution for a digitizer for the purpose of digital art.. I can't really find much info about a digitizer with the zenbook prime or macbook air..

I guess it comes down to what you are after..

I chose to spend my money on a digital piano instead of the laptop as I figured I could ride my current one for a while longer.

        • All the x series tablets have the wacom penabled stylus

        • Indeed. Altered for precision:

But make sure a 12.5" low res touch screen with built in digitizer is what you're after. 'cause if you're not, there are better options.

        • I mean the macbook air and zenbook prime that was suggested by tantryl.

  • Imo, it sounds like a refurb. Luck of the draw. I've purchase an x220t laptop refurbed and the original serial when you look it up has lenovo warranty.

The laptop itself may seem dated to the other Lenovo twists and Helixes but they are good machines. Ram and ssds are easily upgradeable. The low resolution may seem like a sore point but it doesn't bother me.

The 256 pressure of level sensitivity of the stylus is actually pretty awesome when sketching in programs like photoshop and sketchbook pro. Don't know how well it works with 3d programs.

If you need something with a stylus input and want to upgrade it to 16gb ram it's not bad, but there are other options that can be explored at $1399

    • edited.. as previous posts already mention that it might be a way to remove old stock for possibly the helix ?

    • Hi dri,

Just confirming that these aren't refurbs :) The 16gb upgrade is definitely a good idea. I personally haven't used one yet so thanks for sharing your experience about a similar laptop.

It sounds like a good deal, but my next laptop will be a Haswell.

    • Understandable! Good luck with getting a good deal for it :D

  • Hey guys, my friend just wanted me to pass on his thanks for the great response! He has advised me that there is indeed stock left, and if stock levels are low, it should say on the site. All the best!
