= $702.05 Lowest Price Guarantee at Officeworks

.
.
.
.
Below is the old expired info:

IT Global Sale's website is showing genuine AU stock for $719 delivered.
Have been looking at this for a while but not sure about them. Have been waiting for Officeworks to get it so they could do their 5% "Lowest Price Guarantee" price beat. Officeworks have stock today!! Just picked one up for $683.05 from my local store (in Brisbane). Thanks goes to my brother for spotting it at Officeworks.

I was able to show the guy in Officeworks that there were two listings on itglobalsale.com.au, a grey and a genuine Australian stock one so they could see that they were matching AU stock from an Australian website. Also, once you add it to cart, you can then show Officeworks that the shipping is $0.

From Officeworks website: "Identical products are price-matched against online stores but as with any other kind of store, the item must be currently in stock. When price-matching online stores we also take into account the added cost of delivery. If the identical product can be purchased and delivered via an online store for a total price lower than the one we are offering, we will beat that total price by 5%."

You should ING pay wave to get $648.8975
and then if your traveling within the next month or two overseas

another 10% off the original. 10% GST $68.305

    equal 580.59$

beats kogan grey import if you are travelling ~

    please post reciept

    • +2

Unfortunately you are only allowed to wave up to $100

      • +1

        lol ;)

      • Ask them to devide into 7 payment

      • +2

        gift cards

    • Have now uploaded a copy of my receipt.

    • Oooh! I just remembered im travelling in a month, and you just reminded me! Thank you, lol!

P.S slight miscalculation though, at $648.8975 the gst paid isn't 10%/$68.305 it's equal to 9%/$58.99. So the total will come to $589.90. I'm not with ING though, so no 5% off for me :(

    • Let me clarify for the OP while correcting him.

You purchase 7 x $100 gift cards from Officeworks using ING paywave on separate transactions and then you get $35 back. Use them to buy the S4 at Officeworks for $683.05 (price matched) which brings the cost down to $648.90. If you're travelling overseas this coming holidays, then you can claim the GST back (1/11th of the price) further bringing the cost down to $589.91.

Having said all that, if you're going to do multiple transactions at Officeworks, please be considerate and let the checkout person know you're going to take a while so that they can call for assistance. This way, a massive queue doesn't form behind you.

  • No white @ officeworks.

  • how does the ING pay wave work , to get the rebate and s4 for $648.8975

    • you wave 99.99$ at a time

      • I hate to be the people in the queue behind you, lol.
Imagine a long queue, and you ask them to put the transactions through at 99.99 each hahaha

  • will try this out, cheers

  • What's the difference between the $689 and the $719 model? Is one an Australian warranty through IT Global Sales, and the other a warranty through Samsung?

    http://www.itglobalsale.com.au/handsets/samsung-handsets/sam…

    http://www.itglobalsale.com.au/handsets/samsung-handsets/sam…

    • +1

The $689 one is a grey import. $719 is Australian stock with Samsung Australia warranty. It helped that I was able to show the guy in Officeworks that there were two listings, a grey and a genuine Australian stock one. Also once you add it to cart you can then show Officeworks that the shipping is $0. Very happy that I was able to get it from Officeworks, would much rather deal with them for a warranty than some unknown website seller any day.

Why 'http://www.kogan.com/au' is not the best deal? $658.00(Delivered)!

    • Grey import. This is Aussie stock.

  • Why is only 2+? is this not a good deal for $683?
    I'm thinking to get one.

    • -1

If you use Kogan deal and beat 5% from OW, will it be better?

      • I don't think OfficeWorks would beat the Kogan price because it's not Aussie stock.

IT Global Sales just says '2 Years Australian Warranty' for the $689 model but says 'Australia Stock 2 Years Samsung Australian Warranty' for the $719 model.

I think the $689 is a grey import, but the $719 is Aussie sourced from Samsung.

        • They wont match kogan as its import, and will only match the Aust stock on itglobal

      • OW won't match Kogan since Kogan stock is grey import and it won't have Samsung Australia Warranty. The one the OP linked to is AU stock with AU warranty.

    • +1

reason why there arent many upvotes is partially because its a pricematch deal, which is not a guarantee. but $719 for local stock is still a good price

  • +1

Thanks for the post. Just pricematched one at Officeworks Campbelltown.
    Paid $683.05.

  • I'm surprised this hasn't gotten more votes. Pretty sure this is the best price I've seen. And only $30 more than Kogan for Australian warranty and a reputable dealer.

  • +1

Thanks much OP (and your brother, and OzBargain)! Had to give this a try so I went to Officeworks. Paid $683.05 but used PayWave to buy some $99 gift cards first, so I think the final amount will be $648.90.

The phone stays in the box till Monday though. I have too many things planned this weekend and I don't want to get distracted.

I can confirm that OfficeWorks won't price-match non AU stock because of the 1 year return to base warranty. As long as the product is identical, price includes delivery, and warranty is the same… they SHOULD BE able to price-match.

    • Using PayWave to buy gift cards then buying the phone with gift cards is very clever.

I desperately wish I had PayWave.

  • This is a price matching deal

If you are using 28 degrees mastercard, better off buying from itglobalsales

In 6 months, the price drop will be big and you can claim the difference, but at officeworks it will be the same price.

    • Is it valid for online purchases? I know the price protection policy on my CBA card excludes online purchases.

    • can anyone confirm whether the 28 degrees MasterCard will cover online purchase for price drop to be claimed through itglobalsales

      • Yeh, many have claimed from Kogan purchases

Also, itglobal has a physical shop in Castle Hill

  • Odd, someone posted this today already and it was removed because price match (the main intention of the post and of this one) is not a bargain. Hmm.

  • Is it me or is the same phone available on the same website for $30 less?
    http://www.itglobalsale.com.au/handsets/samsung-handsets/sam…

    • I believe that isn't Australian Stock (A-tick), it is most likely grey import stock. I would imagine the 2 year Aus warranty they state is store warranty not manufacturer warranty.

  • The phones you got from Officeworks do they have any branding on them from any Telcos or just unbranded?

    • Haven't had a play with it yet but the guy at Officeworks said that it was unbranded.

  • Anyone getting refusals from officeworks to pricematch?

    • I was refused the S3 4G because of the different colour, but they were happy to do the deal with the G4 but I didn't want to spend an extra $200. Now waiting for mobileciti to come up with a good deal on the G3 4G

    • I don't think their "Lowest Price Guarantee" makes provision for refusals as long as the conditions are met. However, it does say: "Officeworks reserves the right to limit the quantity of products available for price-matching at its discretion." I suppose that means they could limit it to 1 per person?

      http://www.officeworks.com.au/retail/content/Lowest-Price-Gu…

      • I've had this deal been refused as "We don't pricematch interstate store (which is ridiculous)" and "It has a different type of warranty.", It's frustrating, dealing with scared managers.

        • Which store refused you?

        • Yeah, that is ridiculous. Doesn't agree with their Lowest Price Guarantee terms on their website.

Did you show them the itglobalsale.com.au website which shows they stock the grey import with different warranty for $689 (which OW are not obliged to price beat) and that they also have the Australian stock with the same Samsung Australia warranty as OW for $719?

OW terms for their guarantee says: "What about online stores? Identical products are price-matched against online stores but as with any other kind of store, the item must be currently in stock. When price-matching online stores we also take into account the added cost of delivery. If the identical product can be purchased and delivered via an online store for a total price lower than the one we are offering, we will beat that total price by 5%."

It doesn't say that the online store has to be in the same state just that delivery has to be factored in (in this case $0)

        • I'll try another store. We'll see.

        • +1

Finally got it done at Officeworks Chadstone. They were quite helpful.

        • soupiejr, what store did you originally try?

        • Box Hill wouldn't do it.

        • -1

Why would they price match an store if its not close enough to them? Thats the standard policy for stores down here. Warrawong used to deny shellharbour price matches even if they had stock because it was 10km.

Thats not an original rule, its pretty standard for us.

        • Uhmmmm….. On their website they say they'll match online stores as long as its an identical product…

  • +1

Anyone tried to price match the $689 one :P ?

    http://www.itglobalsale.com.au/handsets/samsung-handsets/sam…

  • Got one at OW in Brissie this morning. No problems at all, showed the receipt and had to get the ok from the manager who didn't really look at it. Thanks OP!

  • Thank you OP for posting this deal.

I got my local OW to price match and paid $648.85, so happy :D

  • @ GerrardLFC can you supply the reciept?

  • Tried price matching at 2 different OW stores in Sydney but managers of both stores would not approve it…1 said deal had to be checked out and approved by head office! Other said availability of stock at itglobalsales could not be confirmed…they made it very difficult, so couldn't be bothered arguing anymore.

    • Did you show them a copy of OP's receipt?

      • They will say different state

      • Again, having a receipt does not guarantee you a price match.

        Which stores did you try?

        • Well they are a national chain operating under the same framework. Either all stores pricematch or none do. There is something wrong with the OW hierarchy if not everyone comes to the same consensus.

        • I didn't show copy of OPs receipt…attempt was made at blacktown and wentwoethville OW stores

        • That argument is flawed. If one team member incorrectly does a price match, does that mean every single team member in every store has to follow?

Now, I am not talking about this deal as it is legitimate and I am surprised that jasona had failed at the stores he tried. A good example would be the initial release of Nexus 7. People from Ozbargain were trying to price match with Kogan and some did successfully. Whoever allowed it, were not supposed to since it is grey import and the warranty is not identical.

As far as I know, the team members are trained to look out for these things. Unfortunately there are a portion of casuals who do not work frequently and therefore may overlook these things and make mistakes. Just because one transaction goes through incorrectly, does not mean all future transactions must conform.

Most people on Ozbargain would think that if someone got an incorrect price match successfully and they failed then they are at a loss. In reality that incorrect price match is just a bonus.

        • I was referring to this case specifically. That's what they have a head office for. If in doubt they should be able to call someone higher in the chain to get clarification. It looks sloppy on their behalf and totally unprofessional. It's not a hard thing to do to read a few lines on a website and make a simple comparison.

  • couldnt get my local OW to price match / even showing them the OP's scanned receipt…
oh well was gonna bite - but now will just sit and wait for S4 below $600…
sony xperia Z is $569 locally now after a few mths after release.

    • what was their reason?

    • For future reference, having a receipt does not guarantee you a price match.

However, I don't see why they won't do the price match for this deal as it is legitimate. Which store are shopping with?

      • clayton…

reason was below their cost / i saw it was another officeworks store - and they said store manager beat 5% at own discretion…
fair enough - ok to wait.

    "GerrardLFC on 15/06/2013 - 01:23
The phones you got from Officeworks do they have any branding on them from any Telcos or just unbranded?"

Have had a play with the phone now, can confirm that it is unbranded.
Also, update to Android 4.2.2 came through on wifi as soon as I started it up.

  • Now expired. Prices have gone up.

    • Yeah, just noticed a couple of minutes ago that itglobalsale.com.au is now $769 . I am updating now.

  • Got a black SG4 at Moorabin store. 683.05$

  • Dammit….So Mastercard DEBIT with paywave wouldn't get me an additional discount? Stupid credit cards. $650 for this phone AU stock is a great deal; online retailers still selling for $100 above this have their heads in the clouds and are probably wondering why sales are VERY slow at the moment…

  • I still managed to get it for 683 at east perth, OW. I brought the print out of the website when it was 719, and the receipt. The staff was nice enought, to still use the print out, although when we went to the website, the price has gone up. They almost match it using the grey import price, but realized it at the last minute. damn so close…

    • Do you have any soft copy that states 719aud @itglobalsales ? Do you mind to share if you have , wanna try my luck tomorrow : )

      • sorry bluewinds, unfortunately I do not have the soft copy.

      • try the OW receipts above? :)
ask ur local OW store if they can price match other OW stores…

  • Why don't you just price-match against this: http://www.itglobalsale.com.au/handsets/samsung-handsets/sam…
I can see from the previous post that some people have done this successfully when the price was $689

At time of this post the price on the website is $659.00

    • I doubt any retailers willing to price match oversea stock unless they show us the receipt to prove it.

      • I spoke to Officeworks Liverpool on the phone and directed them to the site. They said they were willing to price match the listing posted by the OP not the one above by ranz. They were aware of the product being overseas stock with a local 2 year warranty being offered by a third party (ie not Samsung). They would only price match the one with a local Samsung warranty.

        • Really, even the deal expired 2 days ago?

        • Sorry, I meant when the deal was active.
