Full HD on a 20" is up my alley, although it's not for everyone (things become really really small, not recommended for the elderly).

Anyone knows if this monitor is any good? Couldn't seem to find any review.
The closest model I could find is V203H, which seems to have 1600x900 resolution and not LED backlit.

    • not recommended for the elderly

Why not? Elderly will need reading glasses anyway. With the right glasses (cheap from the chemist) any size screen is good. Its us middle-age people who want a bigger screen so we don't need glasses :-)

OW seems to specialise in model numbers that only they, in the entire world, have. Funny that. Do you think they are just regular models, made in the thousands worldwide, that the manufacturers give OW permission to, er, customise the model number?

Bunnings have been doing it for years i.e. ask a manufacturer to produce a drill with a different coloured button and then label it a different model so that prices cannot be matched/beaten by competitors. Westfarmers big wigs are probably insisting OW do the same.

I worked in an electrical store 20+ years ago and it was common then. Every franchise had a different model washing machine from the same manufacturer - Simpson was a shocker for it. Small differences like model name, materials (s/steel drum vs enamel drum), size (5.5kg, 5kg, etc).

Nchc is right - it stops shopping for identical items. It's not a MONOPOLY rather I call it a CONFUSEOPOLY as you can't possibly compare apples with apples.

  • No HDMI kills the deal for me

But Good deal if you dont need HDMI

Because HDMI and DVI use the same standard you can get a converter for a few bucks on eBay. I gave one that just sits on my monitor's DVI port and you don't even notice it's there.

    • Same for me was going to grab one but need HDMI because the converters don't work for what I need it for :(

      • whats that? The only difference is no sound on DVI and no analogue on HDMI. Isn't it?

  • thanks. I am looking for a 24-27" around the $300 budget. Is this possible? Cheers

  • Be nice if it swiveled to portrait, my 9 y.o. dell for this task is getting long in the tooth.
