What's with tablets… every Tom, dick and Harry seems to be making it.

16gb of internet memory is the only thing that seems different from some of the other cheap ones available locally(at price point), but specs are still pretty rubbish for today's use.(I was using similar in 2010-2011 period) Even browsers are a bit more resource hogging these days, doubt i'd recommend it. (much better deals straight from china….)

    • Are Ainol still the popular Chinese deals? I'm looking for one cheap as possible just to read magazine PDFs and then stick it in the kitchen to read recipes on taste.com.au and the like

yep, Ainol is apparently pretty popular in China these days

        • I'm sure it is……I'm sure it is…..

      • Be wary of the Ainol Hero. I had to insert a piece of wire so that it would charge. The charging socket is a shoddy effort and it is the only way to charge it. Other than that a nice tablet. I believe that the Hero II has USB charging so may not be a problem.

      • I personally don't like their recent rollouts with GC1000 GPU in some of their smaller/cheaper models. But for reading magazine i'm sure it should be ok.

  • #1 selling point its portable

Low-res screen, less than 1gb of RAM and no HDMI output are all deal-breakers in 2013.

0.3 mega pixel camera - so cute!

  • Pixels so large they have postcodes

  • and this one is still better than PendoPad from Target which does not suppot Google Play :)

  • even those cheap Pioneer branded tabs were only like $50, and they were good just for ebooks like this

  • Notwithstanding the storage difference (16GB vs 4GB), anyone know how this compares with the Audiosonic tablet from KMart?

    • ^ thanks! Sold :-)

  • my 8" android with quad core and 1gb ram is chuggy. I can't imagine what this will be like

  • I overheard while I was at the target entertainment section that somebody rang up and reserved like 12 of these. Think they got a little overzealous.
