Get A Free Movie Ticket When Submitting 3 Reviews : New Tickets Issued

180

We did this Giveaway last week and unfortunately ran out of tickets and so we had to cut the giveaway short.
(Everyone who did the reviews did get their tickets :) )

There were 500 tickets and they went very quickly.

We've now ordered a lot more and hopefully we have enough for everyone now.

All you need to do is to fill in 3 approved Reviews on www.aussieservice.com.au and we'll post you a Free Movie Ticket.

The review can be for any business in Australia.

Almost all reviews are published. The only reason we have to check reviews first is to see that they don't contain abusive language and that they have not been copied and pasted from somewhere else.

T&Cs:
- Australian residents only.
- One voucher per user.
- Promotion ends 21 June 2013.

Once you have completed your 3 reports, please click the Settings button (on the top of any page on AussieService.com.au) and fill in an address of where you would like us to post your Free Movie ticket to. (You will only be able to see the button once you are logged in.)

  • I did reviews last time but didn't feel my details yet, just did it. Can I still get the tickets? :D

    • Sure, just fill in your details on the Setting page.
Oh, and plus the deal :)

      • Just checking, was I able to get any tickets? I didn't chase it up :(

    • I got mine today in WA :) Can we do it again Daniel?

      • Great! Enjoy the movie!

  • You've made a mistake on your settings page. There are 2 address line 1 fields.

    • Just checked with the design guys…
The reason we have 2 lines is that some people fill in their address like:
      Unit 7
      1234 Smith Avenue

Edit: They just came back to me and said that you're right - they made a mistake.
There are 2 Address Line 1's!
      Thanks for letting us know.

  • I think site getting hammered!

    • Yeah getting lag on the typing in?

      • Seems like the site is taking a bit of strain at the moment.
We're trying to get it sorted out ASAP.

      • Yup gave up after spending 5 minutes trying to type 1 word. Could be my slow work PC. Doesn't handle java to well. Will try at home

        • The site seems to be ok at the moment. If you have no luck from home, let me know and I'll if we can do anything on our side.

        • If all the movie tickets aren't gone by then ;)

        • I have been having to Copy Pasta the answers in and still it is non responcive, so far did 2 reviews, but daniel if I fill 3 more out do I get another ticket?

          Edit: Done

        • yeah here too, it seems to be slow because its counting every letter for the min 200 char limit, hint, type your review in notepad/wordpad then copy and paste! heaps faster

        • Seems if you did it before you can do it again according to facebook

  • Can I give write a review about Aussie service? :)

    • Sure. We'd love to read an Aussie Service review :)

  • just made my 3 reviews, do I have to do anything else?

    thanks

    • Same here!

    • You need to click on the Settings button on the top of any page on the site and fill in an address of where we should post your ticket to. That's it :)

  • Bang. 3 reviews. Looking forward to the movie ticket

    • Thanks for your reviews!

  • Hi Rep

Just posted 3 reviews and updated my address. Anything else I need to do? and how do I know whether I will be receiving the movie voucher or not? TIA

    • If you got the message saying something like "Your details have been updated" then we have your details and we'll be posting your ticket. If there is any kind of issue, we'll email you and let you know. If by some small chance you don't receive the ticket within the next 7 days let us know.

  • Now one review needs to be 1200 characters long. Last time this has been less.

    • +1

Markus, it only needs to be 200 characters. 1200 is the max.

      • Actually, it told me it has to be 300 chars.

        • You are correct. It was updated after I posted that comment due to the amount of unusable reviews that were being posted after the giveaway started. We're more than happy to give away stuff for genuine reports but you wouldn't believe how many we were getting like this:

"I went to this shop and the sales person was very nice and helpful and polite and very pleasant. She then asked me very nicely what I would like to look at. I told her and she showed me with a lot of patience where it was."

That is 222 characters with spaces. We found if we upped the minimum to 300 the amount of unusable reviews dropped by over 65%.

          Hope that explains it :)

  • I posted the review as promo was shown about free movie ticket. I completed the review. now how do I get the ticket?

    • You need to click on the Settings button on the top of any page on the site and fill in an address of where we should post your ticket to. That's it :)

      • Thanks. Posted 3 reviews. expecting tickets soon. in case I don't get tickets, how shall I contact you?

  • @ REP : that page does not allow me to enter any data…

    • Have you tried with another browser?

Also, have you tried to write details in a few of the boxes or just the first one?

Please let me know and I will try help you out with it.

      • tried IE, Mozilla and Chrome - all have same effect :(
        cannot even type anything…

        • I had a huge problem where I was typing every letter 4 or 5 times. I ended up typing in Microsoft word and cutting and pasting the info in!

        • Sorry about the inconvenience. Our tech team is looking into it.

When you browse the rest of the site, is the speed acceptable?

what cinema is the ticket for?

    • Hoyts and their associated cinemas. In which state are you? I can check on one of the tickets which cinemas they have in your state.

  • Done my 3 reviews and entered my name and address through the settings as you said. It just comes up with 'thank-you for updating your details' or something along those lines but nothing happens afterwards. Should we just assume you've received them?

    • Yep, if you got that message we received your details.

If you don't get the ticket within the next 7 days, let us know.

      Thanks for your reviews!

  • Done my 3 reviews as well. Pretty neat site. Will be doing more reviews in the future. Good concept :)

    • Thank you! We hope to see you back soon :)

Done 3 reviews. Well 4 as i did an overseas website by mistake haha.
Address details updated. Thanks for the movie ticket daniel :P

(Website still is quite slow with the typing. Maybe have to press a key/mouse click twice/three times for it to actually register the letter or click - Typing in notepad then pasting it in worked great though).

  • Done 3 reviews and I entered name and address. Hope you've received them, and I will get my movie ticket :) Is it one ticket for one address? If I have a friend sharing the same house with me, can she get another voucher by filling the reviews?

    • Yep, you will get your ticket in the next week :)

Sure, your friend can get a voucher as well.

You are offering a good deal here, but the javascript predictive text is slowing the site down too much for me to enter more than one keystroke at a time (type one letter, wait, type another letter…).
I gave up after a few minutes, which I'm sure a lot of users did. I would ask your web guys to remove the predictive text on most or at least unnecessary fields - I know you would like us all to enter the EXACT same spelling for business names and suburbs to make sure each business has only 1 (EXACT) listing. However if you have a few people at once using the site (like you do now), the live refresh/ajax programming is constantly reloading looking for similarities with every keystroke.

    • AJW, thanks for the info.

We only just realised from your comment that the javascript is checking on all fields instead of just the company. We're fixing at the moment.

      Thanks again!

      • Yes, the rest of the site is fine. Working in this field I understand both the need for techies to make it work in such a way to meet their needs, and to also make it user friendly - it's a balancing act. Just needs to be tipped back in favor of the users a bit.

The form is also working quicker than it was an hour or so ago when I first tried it too, but you still cannot type as you would normally - and I don't type that quick :)

  • Its still too slow….can type a character after 5mins :(
I dont want to miss this deal REP :( due this issue….plz help

    • +1

We've been trying to sort out this issue for you with no success.

Please would you send us a message via https://www.aussieservice.com.au/ContactUs.aspx and one of our tech guys will help you out.

      • thanks for this, its now working smooth :)

Is it random allocation of tickets or EVERYONE gets it?
Hope this is not advertisement stunt rep :)

        • Yay! Glad it's working.

Everyone who does 3 approved reports gets a free ticket - approved means that the report wasn't copied and pasted from another site, or doesn't look like "hasgjhgssahjgjhsgdhsjgjhs" :)

(Until we run out and then we'll mark the deal as expired.)

  • lol i made so many typos …slow typing….

  • Hi rep,
I've done a couple of reviews but now am getting the error that "Error occured during sign up. Please try again later or contact the site Administrator!!!"
    Why?
I'm wondering if it's because the business I'm trying to review didn't auto-appear (ie it would be a new business to your site)?

UPDATE - I did manage to do a review for a different business, so it seems to be a prob with that business.

    • Hi,

What was the company that you were trying to do the report for?
You should be able to do a review for any business, whether it's in our database or not.

      • Hi danielglee,

It was for WEC International. I was on my phone, and just now I've tried to log in from my computer to see if I can enter it from there but it's not accepting my email/password combination to log in and try. So I clicked on the helpful looking 'forgot my password' link and it does nothing - because it's linked to http://www.aussieservice.com.au/#

Not sure if you planned it this way, but it seems you've used ozbargain as a bit of a website user testing program…

        • Hi,

          Thanks for letting me know.

We changed our servers around last weekend and it seems that the software on the site went back about 3 versions. It caused chaos here yesterday and the dev team have been trying to figure out what went wrong.

We do updates every few days at the moment as the site was only launched 3 weeks ago. We've already had a few thousand reviews done so we're upgrading hardware as to not have lag when the site gets busy.

        • Can you PM me when it's fixed? I'd like to review more, but can't log in at the moment as it doesn't accept my email/pwd combination.

        • Sure. If you want, you can PM me with your username and I'll get an email sent to the email address you registered with a password reset.

  • We're almost out of tickets so we thought we'd mark the deal as expired as not to disappoint anyone.

We'll get more tickets or another giveaway and we'll post another deal again soon.

Thanks to everyone who filled out reviews and we hope to see you again on Aussie Service soon!

  • Got my movie voucher, thanks Aussie Service! :)

  • Got my voucher in the mail yesterday, thanks a lot :). Great looking website, hope to do future reviews too.
