A lot more than my (Ben's) efforts go into the business! We/I have a great team which help out and keep us running! pmupsinep, did you forget to put the coupon in your order or is it somebody with a similar name?

        • +2

No it wasn't me, if I was going to buy I'd buy 5 for $3.75 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/5x-microUSB-MOBILE-PHONE-COMPUTER…

        • Cool, are you not interested in the newer copper core versions?

        • +1

Oh and I think I just realised the mystery in your username! haha why did I even read it backwards? But yes in that case it is just a similar name to the order.

        • +2

If its actually solid copper core as opposed to stranded its likely to be less durable when twisted and squashed into bags, drawers etc..
I fail to see its 'benefit'

        • Need some kind of buzzword to help them sell it. They should enrol into the Monster Cable School of big-noting one's cables.

        • I didn't realize that that Ebay vendor was in Australia so it was a nice surprise when these arrived only a couple of days after ordering them. ;)
Not sure if they are solid-copper or whatever, but they work fine to charge/link my phone so that's what counts to me.

Had bad customer service from these guys. Bought from a similar deal last year and the cables were very bad quality. Wouldn't charge my phone or hold a steady data connection. Send an email through their "contact us" link and received no reply. Ended up lodging a PayPal dispute and got my money back after a couple weeks as these guys didn't even bother replying to the dispute.

Stay away from bad service and bad quality micro USB cables.

  • After receiving many complaints about the quality of our previous cables we decided to source our new stock with higher quality cables from a new supplier! These cables are of the highest quality and they do in fact charge all mobile devices - I personally use them to charge and transfer data on my Xperia Z. We are committed to providing the highest level of customer service, so we changed up our system to be more effective and we can now guarantee that all emails will be responded to within 3 days of receiving them.
In the past every complaint was dealt with and everyone either received a refund or a replacement item.
We look forward to having you shop with us and experience our highest quality items and our attentive and speedy service

Ah huh… So, 'keyman' was lying when he stated that he -

received no reply. Ended up lodging a PayPal dispute and got my money back after a couple weeks as these guys didn't even bother replying to the dispute.

So, by saying that "every complaint was dealt with" you meant that if the customer paid via PayPal they might have received a refund by lodging a dispute, and escalating the dispute to a claim?

We (sic) look forward to having you shop with us (sic) and experience our (sic) highest quality items and our (sic) attentive and speedy service

Whats with the Royal "we" and "our" stuff? You are a Sole Trader.

Stay away from bad service and bad quality micro USB cables.

      Good advice.

"A sole proprietorship, also known as the sole trader or simply a proprietorship, is a type of business entity that is owned and run by one individual and in which there is no legal distinction between the owner and the business.

The owner receives all profits (subject to taxation specific to the business) and has unlimited responsibility for all losses and debts. Every asset of the business is owned by the proprietor and all debts of the business are the proprietor's. It is a "sole" proprietorship in contrast with partnerships. Glos and Baker write that "A sole proprietorship is a business owned by one person who is entitled to all of its profits," Reed and Conover say "The single or the sole proprietorship is a business owned and controlled by one man even though he may have many other persons working for him. A sole proprietor may use a trade name or business name other than his or her legal name."

"the business isn't operated by just one person"

IF this is true, surely you should not be registered as a "Sole Trader"?

          From the link you provided:-

          "Sole traders
If you operate your business as a sole trader, although you may decide to have employees, you trade, control and manage all aspects of your business."

          From your previous comments post:-

"I am the sole owner of a business however, the business isn't operated by just one person"

However, perhaps I am misinterpreting the (your) meaning of "operated"? If so, I apologise.

        • I manage all operations however, the employees run the day to day operations of the business. I hope this clears it up for you

    • These cables are an example of the poorer quality cables I spoke of earlier, so these cables are out of stock and will not come back into stock because of all the bad complaints we had about the quality of these particular cables

Umm, "solid copper core" isn't a feature, it's a defect.

In your house, "solid copper core" wire is usually only used in fixed locations - the power cords in your walls, and ethernet cables in your walls. Everywhere else (with VERY few exceptions) the wire is stranded wire, because solid core wire BREAKS when you bend it a few times.

The only cases where I have seen solid-core wire used for non-fixed applications is cheap TV antenna cables, and CAT6 ethernet patch cables. For both of those applications, the wires are flexed/bent very infrequently.

    • I have personally cut open these cables to test the durability. I bent and twisted the exposed wiring and it took more than a couple of bends to break the wire.

If you are worried about the wire breaking we have a 60 day warranty on the cables! So if it breaks within that time we will refund the money.

Interesting… "it took more than a couple of bends to break the wire." More than two 'bends' huh? How many 'bends' did it take?

If you are worried about the wire breaking we have a 60 day warranty on the cables! So if it breaks within that time we will refund the money.

Good to know this. However, there has been more than one OzBargainer report that there has been no response to refund requests.

        • -3

In the past even though not all requests were dealt with promptly (which we have apologised for), all requests even if it was through a PayPal dispute did in fact get refunded.

I didn't count how many times I bent the wire. Considering it was exposed wire that supposedly breaks inside its casing after a 'couple' of bends, it not breaking straight away means that it will be durable inside its casing

    Hi Ben,

I've emailed you many times in the pass and got no reply basically its been 6 months now. Should I be angry or annoyed? I should think so. I'm hoping you will respond this time. I've email you via your website and your personal email but have got no reply. I basically have not received my cables at all. Please respond this time, hopefully.

I've even left a comment on this website: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/98404. Last comment.
P.S. Have also emailed you more then 12 times around Feb to April.

    Regards
    G.C

same thing happened with me.no reply on emails. seems like the seller have no interest in taking care of his defective products. hence, being angry and annoyed are acceptable.

    • +2

That is very odd. Going off your experience, it looks like this may be a scam site. Buyer beware!

    • +2

They aren't called Savvysteal for no reason despite they aren't so savvy or subtle about it.

    • Hi Gcquest you should be both annoyed and angry, I apologize for your poor experience and thank-you for handling it in a professional manner. I hope I can help you out this time for good with a free set of cables if you are interested in them. I am not sure of your details so if you go ahead and send them to [email protected] I will handle the issue personally within 24 hours.

Kind regards, and humblest of apologies.
      Ben

6 months to resolve his issue after just ignoring him? A public explanation should be given before anyone hands over one cent to your operation.

  • +1

Well I just thought getting it locally was faster and better. I mean the price was not the cheapest around. It was not hard to find a cheaper cable. So I paid nothing came. Did reply and said he will resend but got nothing still after that no reply and no refund. I basically gave him too much time and couldn't dispute via paypal and could not get in contact with him/ them. :(. I'm hoping Ben will reply this time soon. Took the money and got nothing.

    • Please have a look at my reply above. I am sorry to hear this as I do in fact remember your username, and would love to sort it out once and for all!

Hey rep, can you add Micro USB Cable to the title so people actually know what the product is? Also, using all caps in the title & description is shouting, seen as rather rude.

    • Hi BlueMM thanks for pointing that out, I didn't realize that we were missing the USB in the title! I hope the title helped, but it's up there now so nobody will be confused! And oh it is? I hope that I'm not offending anybody, the caps were definitely there for emphasis and not to offend.
      Kind regards
      Ben
