  • it's $23 incl ship

how did you pick up? i entered 2141 which is where they are and still forces a delivery fee

  • thanks op… why you are so sure that it supports ddwrt?

i have a same router but the hardware version is b2. so i am prettysure that miny is not supported.

    http://www.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Supported_Devices

and also, theres no hardware version info on mwavw website…

    please douvle check…

    • Good tip
I got one from HN a few months back, V4 from memory. Flashed DDWRT to it, but it would only do a wireless client bridge, not repeater bridge (WDS only worked with WEP)
If you need WiF-WiFi extension you should buy WiFi repeater. They're pretty cheap these days.
If you want to do a modem-cable-WiFi type setup, then i reckon the dlink firmware cab do that out of the box.

    • it does now, they have a custom firmware for this router to get around the checksum "wall". works pretty well on one of mine, i have a C1 version.

    • I have the E4 version (behaves similar to C2 from memory) and tried a few different versions of ddwrt and played around a bit with the settings.
I could only get it to work intermittently as a wireless bridge or repeater (eg. pings would work for a few minutes then not, although DHCP (from main router) would never work when connecting via this device.)
I guess it's possible I have a faulty unit (I installed ddwrt straight out of the box so it's a bit hard to say)…

  • Got one thanks OZ!!

  • Out of topic.

If anyone know a cheap router which support USB share via HTTP while DHCP server is disabled, please let me know.

    • -1

      Ahh he meant off topic…

  • I got one of these from the last sale they had and I can't for the life of me figure out how to turn it into a wireless repeater. So now it is being wasted by not being used. I can confirm that you can install ddwrt onto it and it is an easy process.

    • being atheros i'm not sure if it actually supports repeater/bridge etc easily

i have one and it too isnt being used as i have a heap of gbe and 5ghz units thanks to this place

    • Wireless Repeater Bridge mode is not supported..
The only way you can make this a Wireless Extender at all is to run a cable to a LAN port.

It does support Client Bridge mode (ie it can connect to the WiFi and distribute a network connection through its LAN ports).

  • Great deal but when are we going to get a cheap deal on a gigabit wireless router? :)

    • You didn't see this deal, did you? http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/102502 Some of us actually made $15 and got a free router.

      • :( … dont remind me about this one. Missed it.

      • Bummer! That is a deal.

      • None of us have our money yet..
Even so, $85 for an ac router is/was still a bargain!

        • I got mine, and many people have posted they got theirs. It is a slow/random process and is being issued manually with hand written cheques.

        • Hmm interesting.
I got an email only a week or two ago to say that they wouldn't be processing any claims until the conclusion of the promotion on the 19th.
While I realise it's after the 19th, I wasn't expecting to see anything until July at the earliest..

        • Just got email notification that my claim has been accepted.
Now an "up to 60 day wait" for the actual credit to arrive.

  • +1

I like how the estimated shipping cost is 5.18 but the actual shipping cost is 12.95, slightly dodgy if you ask me because you can't see the actual price until you register and go to checkout.

    • Dodgy? Mwave is pretty good at being dodgy. I still remember the Linksys router deal, they messed up with.
