  • anyone know i these are safe? is there a fire hazard with cheap LEDs or are they all made out of the same factory in china?

    • As long as they are set to the correct voltage (220-240V) there shouldn't be an issue. Once bought led Christmas lights from dealextreme set for 110V only and the 1st 6 LEDs (which where the ones with resistors on them) caught fire after about 20secs. They sent me a replacement but I didn't plug them in until I doubled the resistance on the lights which then surprisingly worked (but would not recommend).

    • Safe, unless used in ways which are not safe. eg. Microwave

  • +1

only ropelight of above still in stock

  • I have one of these permanently in the lounge across the top of door frame. I turn it on when I turn on the tv at the wall, and off again at bed time. Never gets hot and I love it as background lighting. It's been there for 6 months w' no probs.

  • $6.50 house fire! What a bargain!
