  • Sorry to sound stupid, but how do I find out if my IBM think centre takes this kind of RAM?

    • +1

Best way would be to check your model number, then go the IBM website and do a search for that model number and/or type in the support section. Then just have a look at the specifications which should also list what type of RAM your Thinkcentre works with.

    • An even easier way would be to take the case off your desktop, and pull the RAM modules out.
Normally it has the brand, clock speed and type printed on it somewhere.

If your not comfortable doing that, then yeah call up Tech support or check IBM's webiste for your model and see the specs.

Or you can go to Crucial.com, use the scanner and see what type of RAM your PC can take.

  • Is this for laptops or desktops?

    • Desktops lol. You can't just stick new RAM into a laptop so to speak, ain't that easy.

      • +1

yes you can, the bottom of the laptop screws open and you have direct access to ram modules. :)

        • Not for Lenovos and Dells.

          • @Gnostikos: Obviously you don't know what you're talking about, mate.

            • @bargaintick: Being the owner of a Lenovo ThinkPad T60p, I can confirm that the RAM is located underneath the touchpad, not as a flap underneath.

              • @Orbiiter: As the owner of a Dell Inspiron 6400, 1520 and 1720… I can confirm that they all have a small flap on the underside where the RAM sits.

(Of course, this kind of RAM won't fit in a laptop… but basically just confirming that most decent laptop manufacturers these days make it easy to upgrade RAM).

                • @MrGareth: Well and truly aware of that; just pointing out that the original poster wasn't completely wrong as suggested by bargaintick.

          • @Gnostikos: here's a video if you still aren't sure:

            it's easy as for laptops!

and for Leveno's: You have to remove 4 screws on the back of the machine and then carefully lift out the palmrest. It's not hard to get out. Then just put the memory in

          • @Gnostikos: Dell XPS M1530's and I'm sure every other Dell laptop is hell as easy to replace the RAM. Just unscrew the lid/flap on the bottom and voila, replace.

  • just ordered mine, quite a bargain actually.

  • "Sorry, the product was not found."

Has the offer been taken down?

    • Looks like it's sold out.

It's a good deal. I got tempted to order one, then quickly changed my mind and canceled the order.

    • damn sold out, hdd still there though.
