$159.98 USD delivered (149 + 10.98 for postage). If Amazon doesn't show up as the seller (as it often doesn't), click on 11 new and find Amazon.com as the seller and add this item to your cart. Or click on the pertinent number (if it isn't eleven) after I write this, since it can change too.

Well-rated zoom lens for Panasonic & Olympus Micro Four Thirds cameras. Save USD $50 over the normal USA price and save too much over the local price. The only problem is Amazon doesn't currently have them in stock so you may be waiting a while to receive the lens. HOPEFULLY not too long. A good saving is a good saving, and apprently no restrictions to send this item to Australia.

Amazon beats them.

Panasonic users will not have image stabilisation with this lens, since Panasonic does it in-lens and Olympus does it in camera body. This lens will give you 80-300mm (35mm equivalent) zoom range.

Amazon also seem to have some 2% reward promotion going on for this item.

I guess that might mean something to someone. Enjoy.

  • Please note, expecting shipping time is 1 - 3 months…

    Estimated delivery: Aug. 12, 2013 - Sept. 25, 2013

Just bought one for $159.98 USD. (Works out to be ~ same as OP.)

  • Still can't beat the deal earlier this year in Northern America. Bought mine from a Canadian online shop for US$99, total amount about AU$120 after including delivery.

    • Bargain. Which shop was that, out of curiosity?

  • This one is a good alternative:
    http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-45-200mm-4-0-5-6-Olympus-Cam…

The Olympus ones usually have higher failure rate because their mount bracket is plastic (the screw in part), where as the Panasonic uses a full metal mount bracket.

Especially this lens is heavier, it tends to pull on the mount bracket.

    • Nice…albeit at 130 dollars more and no ability for Amazon to send that one to Australia. Interestingly CamelCamelCamel shows a very cheap low price on that one happened a few days ago.

  • -1

f4-5.6? I wouldn't hit a guy over the head with this lens

    • Why not, that will increase the aperture and his his aperture too :)

    • thackleberry,
8 out of the 9 telephoto zooms on Micro Four Thirds have this aperture rating.
      http://www.four-thirds.org/en/microft/telephoto.html

The F2.8 Panasonic exception only goes up to 100mm zoom (200mm equivalent).

Unless you are used to using super-expensive glass (well beyond the cost of this lens), this minimum aperture is expected and normal. Other manufacturers have similar apertures. You'd be hard-pressed to find a telephoto lens that's brighter in this price range (and beyond), unless you're talking compacts with noisier sensors and worse lenses…or super-expensive glass.

    • Why do you need 40-150mm in low light situations? (Equivalent 80-300mm for non MFT lenses.)

You'd probably want a much better lens if you're doing night-time surveillance. :P

  • Any Oly pancake lens on sale?

    • I wish… or a Panasonic!
