      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Capacitive-Touch-Screen-Gloves-Ha…

      $0.99 USD delivered.

Almost 48% cheaper than this deal (yes it's not exactly the same before anyone comments)

      • +1

And therefore, no reason to neg.

      • Actually, going by the pics this one has capacitive on all 5 fingers. The ebay one only on the thumb and index finger.

        • +3

it is enough for most people.

        • +1

But it's not the same, AKA can't be compared to this deal.

        • -1

seriously, who uses their last 3 fingers to swipe?

I think this is the biggest gimmick if ever I've seen one. If it's THAT cold that you need to wear gloves, go inside! Don't sit out in the cold playing on your tablet

        • +9

You've never taken public transport to work?

  • Just bought Purple, Red and Black !

What sort of fiber? cotton? polyester?

You know the ones you find on bread

    Woof woof!

  • if only i could find a way to make motorcycle gloves work like this

    • +2

well if anyone is interested i decided to apply myself and found some conductive thread on ebay. easy!

      • Hmmmm…is conductive thread + time to knit <= $1.88? If so, then well OzBargained my friend!

        • +1

Next time you see a guy riding a motorbike have a look at his gloves….

  • You can use them as glove liners under your snow mittens/gloves - when you used your phone, your fingers won't freeze off! Fit might be a bit snug though as these would be slightly thick than silk or wool glove liners.

Plus a spray of NikWax Tx.Direct will make these relatively water resistant hehe.

  • Just a PSA, if you own a Galaxy S4, you don't require special gloves. There's a special setting called high sensitivity in display settings.

  • Are these prices in AUD or USD?

    Thanks

EDIT: It's USD - currency came up after I went through Paypal

  • Do these have sizes or are they one size fits all?

    • One size fits all,unisex!

    • I'm about 185cm's and about 95kg… I usually find the 'one size fits all' gloves don't fit me. They're too small. If your less than 185/95, you'll be probably be okay.

      • lol opposite problem… I'm 48kg and 157cm lol one size fits all is massive on me!

Spot on. Love not being a sheep in society, it always pays off using your own brain instead of following major trends for the sake of fitting in (i.e. buying smartphones). Love windows phone and still got much love for Nokia (no I'm not a windows phone salesman).

Eyed barrackers complaining about those who are one eyed out of the other eye ;)

        • @grapedrink
It'd be nice if you could actually explain how anything I've said has proved your point. But I somehow get the impression that'd be quite difficult, even for individuals like yourself who obviously have a higher level of intellect.

        • I guess it's the new fanboy thing. If someone looks at the options and chooses a different product to you (no matter how their requirements may differ to yours), they're sheep. At least he's using 'sheeple', or is that restricted to usage by conspiracy theorists?

        • "If someone looks at the options and chooses a different product to you (no matter how their requirements may differ to yours), they're sheep."

In what way would a persons requirements differ other than an operating installed on a mobile phone? Enlighten us?
My point was that Nokia Windows phones have less than 5% of the market share but are better overall phones than anything else available. The large majority of people buy iPhones and Androids not because they are good phones but because everyone else does. Hence why the market is saturated with a phone like the iPhone 5 which is an over-priced iPhone 4 with a few extra software additions and a new look. Its blind cult like following like this which I find hilarious.

Is that sound enough logic for you?

        • That's fine that you prefer Windows phones, but that's just your opinion. There are plenty of ways to express that opinion without being condescending to people who choose something different that just happens to be popular.

        • -3

ahh so I hurt your feelings with my comments above? In what way was I being condescending? Were you offended by what I said?

I was merely pointing out the "sheep" as people in certains sectors of the market who blindly buy and support products based on their popularity, not on their real world value or quality when compared to similar products in the market that offer more for less.

        • I agree with grapedrink, yet I own an Android phone.

        • +1

The large majority of people buy iPhones and Androids not because they are good phones but because everyone else does.

REALLY? Where do you get that data from.

Frankly there is NO way you can ever get this data, its a personal opinion, maybe from some with technical expertise, but there is no way you can verify that statement.

Many buy phones because they like what they have already, the ecosystem that surrounds it. And its only recently that Nokia have any type of phone that matches or surpasses features of the existing players.

Hell to that point many stuck with old Nokia technology for years after it was out of date, because the phones did what they wanted to do at that time, and learning a new interface wasnt one of their priorities in life. Were they sheep as well?

With that in mind many wont swap until they see some sort of consistency and support for that platform.

Sheep dont consider their actions, which is counter to what many who buy phones do. They look at their own learning curve for a new device, and if that is steep or has some uncertainty they wont move. Or their existing supplier messes up. Of course SOME are always influenced by buying whats COOL, but just because you might know some of these, doesnt mean the whole country acts the same way.

Congratulations on finding a phone that suits your needs, but to name call others with sweeping generalisations makes you look rather sheepish….

        • -3

So why did 60 minutes release an iPad only app for viewing past episodes?
Why did Foxtel release the iPad only Foxtel Go app?
It is very frustrating watching companies release apps for the sheep out there, when there are other popular platforms out there.

        • -3

60 minutes? I'm not even going to comment. I would rather a 60 minutes app never makes it to the Windows store.

As for Foxtel Go, we have an official Foxtel IQ app but not the Go.
Personally I bought Foxtel to use at home. Plus I don't have 4G so no point.

        • +1

          @grapedrink
"ahh so I hurt your feelings with my comments above? In what way was I being condescending? Were you offended by what I said?"

Hardly. Anyway, I tried to take the mini-debate back to something less snarky and you reply with that? Now I can be 100% sure I didn't misjudge what sort of person you were when I made my first post.
I fully understood exactly what sort of person were referring to when you said "sheep". But you didn't point out you were referring to 'certain sectors of the market' in the first post, rather you gave the impression were talking about everyone who happened to own a popular phone.
Anyways… Have fun with you Windows Phone, and I'll have fun with my Android phone.

        • -3

"What sort of person you are". You are a really sensitive person obviously. If you want sensitive view points to cater for your feelings please go join a doll-making forum. I am correct in everything I've said up until now and I stand 100% by everything I've said.

The negs on my posts are due to "sensitive people" like yourself who find it intimidating when someone puts forth their view in a logical and justified manner with no room for confusion. Clearly you are offended by my strong views (as are most who have bothered to neg my posts instead of actually taking the time to realise my views are 100% correct).

There is no equivalent iPhone or Android phone that is better than a Windows phones at every price point in the market (features and ease-of-use). I've had Windows phones for the last three years after ditching my iPhone (which was only good until the iPhone 3G). I have also used Android phones and tablets. Android phones are over-complicated and over-priced with an OS that is suited for a tablet or PC rather than a mobile phone. Thats a fact and I would love to hear your reasons otherwise.

Even more hilarious is that 90%+ of people writing on this thread or negging my comments USE MICROSOFT PRODUCTS AT HOME OR WORK on their PCs.
Wouldn't it make perfect sense to extrapolate that experience by using a Microsoft phone that integrates seamlessly into the Operating System that you use most of your life? To me its a no-brainer, to others, its an intimidating view point which will cause angst amongst fan boys here because its a realisation that they should have switched long ago. This is why this my post will get negged, not because "I'm a bad person". Sure some people actually use Android phones because they enjoy the extra processing power (power users) but the large majority get Android phones simply because they know someone else who has one (no thought process or research into alternative options. I'm not going to comment on why someone would buy an iPhone, at this point in time the only reason someone SHOULD buy an iPhone is if they are locked into a contract and need to upgrade to one. Otherwise you're throwing money away.

Enjoy your day people (and the sheep who will neg my post).

        • -2

"Even more hilarious is that 90%+ of people writing on this thread or negging my comments USE MICROSOFT PRODUCTS AT HOME OR WORK on their PCs."

Why is that hilarious? I don't think anyone here was even saying Windows phones were bad. Just that because it suits your needs, doesn't mean it suits everyone else's needs. I'm used to Android personally, so if I pick up a friend's Android phone, I know how to use it. I struggle when I use a Microsoft or iPhone. Are they bad? Nope, just not what I am used to.

"In what way would a persons requirements differ other than an operating installed on a mobile phone? Enlighten us?"
What are you trying to ask? If you're saying nothing but OS matters (literal reading of your question) - then how about:
          - stylus support
          - camera
          - gorilla glass
          - waterproof
          - ability to use with normal gloves :P
          - screen size and resolution

If, what you're trying to ask is why does the OS matter, then:
One feature I like about my set up is I have an Eye-Fi card is my camera, and have several times NEEDED to be able to quickly edit photos on my phone with the stylus (have a phablet) using Snapseed and Photoshop Touch. Can you please explain to me how I can do that on a Windows phone - since, to be the best of my knowledge - none of these apps are on Window's phone and no way to sync with an Eye-Fi device. The other 'sheep' device of an iPhone would have enabled me to do all this less the decent stylus of course.

As for "the large majority get Android phones simply because they know someone else who has one" - ignoring the fact you just made that up with no basis (please share your source if that's not that case) - it can be a good reason for a non-tech savvy person to buy a phone. For them, being able to ask friends/family for help is a pretty damn good selling point.

Again, I don't think anyone here one has said the window's phone is bad. For me, it doesn't have the software on it I'd want… yet. You're just overly sensitive on that one.

"Enjoy your day people (and the sheep who will neg my post)."

Sure mate, whatever makes you feel better about yourself.

        • -3

"I'm used to Android personally, so if I pick up a friend's Android phone, I know how to use it. I struggle when I use a Microsoft or iPhone. Are they bad? Nope, just not what I am used to."

Considering a Windows Phone is the easiest to use of the lot (I know I've tried all the phones). Being "used" to something doesn't make it the best, it just means you're too lazy to try something new (and better).

          • stylus support
          • camera
          • gorilla glass
          • waterproof
          • ability to use with normal gloves :P
          • screen size and resolution

stylus support? That's what a tablet is for. If you want a screen beyond 4.5 inches then sorry you might as well get a small tablet and use it as its processing power will exceed anything a phone can do. It sounds like you're one of those users who walks around with their head buried into their phone instead of watching out where they are walking.

Waterproof? Like the Xperia Z which has port covers dangling all over the place like a child toy? Guess what, forget to plug ANY of those port covers in and your phone is not only NOT waterproof, it will become a brick. The waterproof feature on phones at the moment is a gimmick and "water-proof" is not the right term, "water-resistant" is closer to accurate and even then its not a reliable or practical feature and far from a selling point for a phone. Unless you absolutely 100% require underwater photos? You might as well buy a cheap TRULY waterproof camera and leave your phone for what it is. A PHONE.

What you just described is a scenario that is SPECIFIC to your Android phone. I have no idea what Eye-Fi bloatware you're referring to but it sounds like you're trying to complete a task that is specifically geared towards a tablet rather than a phone. You're trying to tell users here that you would bother trying to accurately edit a photo on the go with a screen as small as an iPhone? What are you in kindergarten? Please grow up. Mature adults here would not even attempt to do what you're doing because they understand a phone is for calling and connecting to people, not for professionally editing photos. Please be realistic.

"the large majority get Android phones simply because they know someone else who has one". I made that up? Tell me, how do you buy a mobile phone? Until you have used a phone, you would be foolish to buy it. Features advertised do not translate into actual practicality, the only way you know for sure is to either trial one or use one in a shop. Seeing as their are more iPhones and Androids around, it is logical to assume people would get recommendations from friends/family by either using one or having someone show them one. There are quite a few people unfortunately that will not get a chance to try a Windows Phone due to their innate ignorance (like yours) or their willingness to evolve (just like technology evolves).

Other than your Eye-crap ware, what doesn't Windows Phone have that you want?

Most of your arguments are fan-boy and conformist. And please don't even bring up your stylus argument again, it actually makes me cringe just looking at someone trying to operate their phone as a tablet. Not only is it physically challenging and not optimised for a phone experience but it actually looks retarded. Get a clue and buy a tablet.

        • I feel very sorry for you. I won't bother replying after this, as, smarter people than me have already given up trying to reason with someone who is just using abuse and attacking the person rather than trying to make a coherent argument.

"Considering a Windows Phone is the easiest to use of the lot (I know I've tried all"
"water-resistant… even then its not a reliable or practical feature and far from a selling point for a phone"
Again, for you maybe. I'll agree to the semantics, but this is subjective and for some people doing a lot of outdoor work, dust and weather resistance can be very important. I've tried Window's phones, and they didn't gel with me. Other people I respect (i.e. not you) have used them and love them. I know one person whom I also respect has one and hates it. Subjective! Of course, to a fan boy like you, any feature your Nokia Windows phone doesn't have isn't important.

"You might as well buy a cheap TRULY waterproof camera and leave your phone for what it is. A PHONE."
If this is true, why are you using the latest Nokia Window's phones? As a phone, their older models are rock solid, better battery life, etc. But again, you're playing a total straw man argument as I never mentioned taking photos underwater.

"What you just described is a scenario that is SPECIFIC to your Android phone."
Nope, you're lack of ability to do any research (i.e. spend 5 seconds in google) would reveal Eye-Fi as something that any iPhone or Android can use. Similar technologies from Sony, Toshiba etc will also likely work only on iPhone and Android as that, for now, is where the market is, so that's what they write the supporting software for. I'm sure you'll have a very petty fanboy "I don't want youe eye-crap fi on my window's phone anyway", and the fact that you don't know what it is supports you don't need it. Meanwhile, other Windows users are petitioning the company to make Windows Phone versions of the software.

"their innate ignorance (like yours) or their willingness to evolve (just like technology evolves)"
This coming from a person who didn't even bother to Google (oh wait, sorry Bing for a fan boy like you) Eye-Fi to see what it is about. By the way I've used all 3 phones, I've researched all 3 phones, and realised a Window's phone is not for me. Unlike you, I don't say iPhones and Windows phones are crap because I chose different.

"stylus support? That's what a tablet is for. If you want a screen beyond 4.5 inches then sorry you might as well get a small tablet and use it as its processing power will exceed anything a phone can do. It sounds like you're one of those users who walks around with their head buried into their phone instead of watching out where they are walking."
What the…? The fact I like having a stylus on my phone means I walk around with my head in my phone instead of looking where I am going? I could more strongly make the argument about needing a phone that you can use with gloves means you walk around with your head in the phone: you don't even have time to take of your gloves as you walk around!

Guess what chump, I do have a tablet - and when I suddenly needed it without warning - it was at home. Unlike my phone, it doesn't fit in my pocket. My phone was with me, and I could transfer my photos and do my basic edits with the software and power it needed. Again, I have much more powerful pc at home I do for serious edits, but my smart phone saved the day in a way a Windows phone could not have done. This was for me, and my needs, but again shows how stupid your argument that I'm a sheep for not having the same phone as you. It has a bigger screen than a iPhone, hence why called a phablet, which was also one reason I chose it.

Also, your whole stupid argument that being able to use gloves makes the Nokia such an awesome phone… guess what - I get same ability from using my stylus, can wear whatever gloves I want and get much more precision than you using your fat finger with a fat glove on.

"what doesn't Windows Phone have that you want?"
I've listed things it doesn't have that I want. Can you list things an Android or iPhone doesn't have that you want? Other than it being subjectively 'easier' to use? Meanwhile, there are other hardware solutions like Trigger-Trap I use, which also they haven't bothered to write a Window's version for. And, there's heaps more iPhone only devices for the Apple guys.

"Most of your arguments are fan-boy and conformist"
I think you are projecting onto me here. Not once has anyone here said Window's phone is bad, we just have different preferences. you seem desperate to try to prove your phone is best choice. Personally, i couldn't care less what others choose, I know what is right for me, and I've been proven from my experiences to have made right choice, FOR ME. Others will have made right choice in iPhone, even if it's from a particular application they want that other phones don't have, and others still have made the right choice in a Window's phone if they like the interface and don't need specific software you can only get on more popular systems.

"And please don't even bring up your stylus argument again, it actually makes me cringe just looking at someone trying to operate their phone as a tablet. Not only is it physically challenging and not optimised for a phone experience but it actually looks retarded. Get a clue and buy a tablet."
You cringe when you see it? You let what strangers do, with no impact on you, affect you that much? You've got issues, mate. Learn to relax and worry about yourself and not strangers' personal choices. And again, unlike my phone, a tablet does NOT fit in my pocket.

Anyway, it's nice that you love your Windows phone, but, a little disturbing, as it doesn't love you back. I won't reply here again, you're just being close to abusive, raising straw man arguments and not even responding properly to my points, just going off on a random tangents. You must be a lot of fun at parties - guess that's why you dislike the flocks of sheep all trying to avoid you.

        • -3

"Of course, to a fan boy like you, any feature your Nokia Windows phone doesn't have isn't important."

Invalid argument considering I've used iPhones for 3 years and have also owned Android phones and tablets. Try again.

"If this is true, why are you using the latest Nokia Window's phones? As a phone, their older models are rock solid, better battery life, etc. But again, you're playing a total straw man argument as I never mentioned taking photos underwater."

Incorrect. Their oler models are not as sturdy as the newer models as less resistant to shock and less durability. I suggest you YouTube Nokia's CURRENT QA process for their phones instead of assuming. They test their phones in highly volatile labs under variable conditions reflecting real world use. I take my phone with me wherever I go hence these tests are very relevant to me. Incorrect again, the battery life of previous phones are less compared to the battery saving ability of all current Nokias. Standby AND Talk times are now much longer. You said water-proof. The only reason someone would need a water-proof phone is if they submerge it, otherwise water-resistant is more than enough. Work on your english.

"By the way I've used all 3 phones, I've researched all 3 phones, and realised a Window's phone is not for me."

Using a phone (i.e. testing it for a few minutes) is different than owning a phone for years. I've owned an iPhone phone for over 3 years and an Android tablet for 1 year. I have more authority than you to know what is the best in the mobile phone marketplace at the moment. I suggest you heed my advice.

"Meanwhile, other Windows users are petitioning the company to make Windows Phone versions of the software."

          Obviously not enough users.

"I could more strongly make the argument about needing a phone that you can use with gloves means you walk around with your head in the phone: you don't even have time to take of your gloves as you walk around!"

Incorrect. Using gloves means its cold outside, hence people wear gloves. That or they are riding a bike, taking part in sports, at the gym. WHATEVER. You're COMPLETELY missing the point.

Not even going to comment on your silly photo editing. You're obviously doing weird things like editing photos of yourself for your blog or some other nonsense. I suggest you wait till you get home till you go crazy on Twitter and Instagram. You're a very small minority. Windows Phone has more than enough photo editing software.

Actually a stylus offers no advantage over a finger on Windows phones. Hence they come without a stylus. Thought that was pretty obvious? Apparently not.

The rest of your argument is an attempt to pyschologically analyse me. You've now strayed off-topic and are not worth my time.

        • You've now strayed off-topic and are not worth my time.

that's a bit rich given this was originally about "capacitive touchscreen gloves" and you've gone and dragged it out to name-calling people as sheep, gloating about your superior technical knowledge….okay, you're brilliant. we get it. and we're tired of these android/ios/windows flamewars.
          ffs.

    • What does 920 do differently?

      • +3

Apparently it cannot be operated by a sheep.

        • -3

Incorrect. As pointed out above, 920 users can operate their phones with any type of glove. Eliminating the need for this deal for "market aware" smartphone buyers. The Lumia 920 has always cost less than the iPhone 5 and most high end Android phones yet offers far more functionality and a better camera.

The Lumia 920 is just one example of a Windows phone offering much more for less than any comparable phone in the same market category.

        • -2

And here is the nail in the coffin for any other smartphone on the market.

Oh man! It's different ok? Look carefully, going by the pics this one has capacitive on all 5 fingers. The ebay one you showed only on the thumb and index finger, so it's more cheaper.

        • I will accept that there is some difference, and that this will be a matter of preference, so I have retracted my negative vote.

"Use your touchscreen device, like your iPhone, iPad or Android device"

It doesn't say Nokia Lumia 920, because you can use any pair of gloves with a 920 ;)

    • +2

As it's been said before, it also works on the SGS4. It may be hard to believe Nokia users - but some other phones are in-fact on par or better than the 920.

  • You use only 2 fingers, not 10.
    It looks ugly.

    • +1

      I don't use any fingers…………………….

  • Good idea, but agreed just the single index finger would be better, they look…ahhh…queer?

    • I've seen versions that have thumb, index and middle fingers…

  • Its $2.78AUD not $1.88?

    • +1

Looks like $1.88 USD - just came to $2.13 for me.

  • Just tried to order this but after paypal payment went through i got to an error page and no order confirmation as yet just a paypal receipt… :(

  • Seriously?? People really wear this using their tablet?

Worth it if my fingers stay warm whilst typing!

  • not sure if its my galaxy note 2 or my gloves, but my note 2 recognises my touch through gloves.

  • I know these are super duper cheap, but if anybody's interested in a home solution for their ski or snowboard gloves, I just dotted a bit of superglue mixed with petroleum jelly on each index finger of my gloves. Works perfectly with my Nexus 4.

Now thats just what we need, Snowboarders and Skiers, texting down the slopes… watch for the red patches, you'd need more than superglue remover to clean things up. LOL

      • +1

There's nothing worse than sitting on the ski lift and having to take your gloves off to check a text. ;)

You should be more concerned about tanabe88gg above - riding his motorbike at full speed, tacklin' corners and lane splitting, and all while texting his exploits at same time…

Sorry, I just thought LOL would indicate I was having a little fun here.
