Deals Direct Bargain - Satisfied?

In regards to recent flood of Deals Direct bargain in OZb, would anyone care to review their experience and the condition of the items when received. Some of these items are so much cheaper than elsewhere got me thinking are they folding up?

The reason is that, i used to buy from them about 5 years ago and the last order i received is a hell of trouble. i then switched and never look back. i wonder if they have come to their senses and deliver quality.

If anyone care to comment, much appreciated

  • Very happy with my deals. They sent each item individually via Fastway so the courier guy came to my house everyday for a week haha
Best deal was the convection oven for $15.50 shipped
Disappointed in the packaging though as it was just wrapped in that thick pink or black plastic, same with the bathroom glass scales, which i thought was a bit iffy as it might have gotten damaged.

I purchased 2 of 24 photo frames for $5 each. Wasn't expecting much but they were broken on arrival - not the best start! To make matters worse, the quality is crap. Wish I hadn't been tempted by the price. Going to donate them to the OP shop - if they'll take them!

    • Same here. I made a complaint to deals direct.

First one was ok i didnt mind it being plastic.

Second one was broken into three. Doh

I bought the Hammock and stand, 2 x DVD shelves http://www.dealsdirect.com.au/dvd-storage-shelf-white/ , pet steps, and a heated pet bed. All are excellent quality. They were all delivered by courier in under a week. I knew I wouldn't be home so I left a note on my front door authorising the couriers to leave the stuff in my carport.
The DVD shelves are great, really clever things. Our elderly cat is happy and loves the little stairs to help her get on and off the couch, and is hibernating the winter away in her heated bed.

Ordered the box of socks. Nothing showed up for a week. On checking the status it showed as packing. Put in a ticket asking what's happening and was told out of stock. Refund received in 2 days. Willing to give then one more chance but from the stories here they seem to be hit and miss.

  • Couldn't be happier with timeliness. Ordered two large rugs on the 10th, got an email on the 11th saying that they would likely be delayed because of their sales, then the rugs shows up on the 12th! Wow. Delivery was to Sydney metro.

  • I was really happy with the shoes I bought, much better than I was expecting in terms of design and quality. Arrived 2 days after ordering and came in original shoe box. Very happy with service, received confirmation and package sent emails, along with shipping tracking. Very satisfied.

  • Yes I was happy with my purchase of some bath sheets; turned out better quality than expected.

I recently ordered a VTech Innotab2 Learning App Tablet - Dora the Explorer for $17+ including post. The exact same item is $57+ on eBay. No idea why such a price difference for this item. Hopeful that I have purchased a good bargain there.

Ordered a few things over the last few weeks…
3 x sheet sets, bread maker, mixer and valance. Great customer service, great delivery and really amazing products. Very happy with them and definitely going to be a repeat customer.

I'm happy with my purchases - it did take two weeks from ordering to when I recieved them, but I understand they were flat out with orders in this time, and I am in WA.

I ordered the 6x Glade Candles, 8x Viva Shower Wipes and a Gillette razor. All arrived in perfect condition.

  • Anyone know how long it usually takes them to process replacements for faulty stuff?

Received a pizza oven and I reported on the same day that it had a chip on the ceramic "stone." Girl asked for photos of chip, so I sent by email, saying I would be happy if just that part was replaced. Within a few days received an email saying item is out of stock, to be refunded in full within a few days, and no mention of returning faulty pizza oven. It was a large parcel so would have been a nuisance to return anyways (but they would have sent details how to do at no cost to me). Anyways, we keep oven (only a small chip) and it was refunded in full. No complaints; just follow their process.

3 of the 5 items I received were refunded as out of stock - only after making an enquiry.

I suggest you flood their facebook page with complaints - https://www.facebook.com/DealsDirect.com.au

They will delete it pretty quickly, but it's not too hard to re-enter :-)

ha - they just reported my comments as spam and i have been temporarily blocked. Love it.

I still haven't received some stuff i ordered. Other stuff has been refunded as out of stock, and one item they sent the wrong thing. All in all for what i paid for the items i did get I'm very happy, but it's not acceptable imo that you have to chase up refunds yourself when items just stay as 'packing' in your account…

      I too am so annoyed!!!
Got most things very quickly but one item was still "approved" for three weeks.

Sent them 6 emails which i got reply that they will get back to me.

      Got no reply.

Had enough and sorted out the issue with their live chat.

Asked why did it take them 3 weeks and 6 emails to tell me an item was out of stock

  • Edit:
Although I ordered a larger size than usual, I find the t-shirts to be a very tight fit.
I usually wear 8-10s, ordered a 12 (medium), but only 1 of the ordered 2 arrived, and it was too small, so I!)contacted them to change the size (request a large!) of the one yet to arrive. They said that as the items were handled and marked as posted by supplier … they cannot be replaced. Bit disappointed about that; you can usually return, refund and/or replace items not found suitable with most other online purchases.

      Edit again:
After receiving an email (week later) asking for comments about my purchases (re: 2 t-shirts; only 1 arrived and smaller than usual sizing), I contacted Deals Direct on the Online chat again. ONLINE CHAT SEEMS THE MOST EFFECTIVE METHOD OF GETTING COMPLAINTS RESOLVED. Apparently supplier still says both posted (although I have label clearly indicating one part no. only with order no. and said I could scan this to them) so they checked back for a replacement in a larger size, but found now they are out of stock. Told a refund will be provided within a few days, once formally approved. Received the approval email within an hour, so expecting refund now. Seems worthwhile to follow up on first complaint; even if it was only a $5 t-shirt! My impression is the problems are with the suppliers and not Deals Direct (middle entity). Perhaps Deals Direct are paying attention to this OzBargain chat forum. I was sent a copy of the online "chat" to my email address too; very professional and business like, thank you. The way I look at it, the better an organisation handles the situations when things go awry the more likely you are to be a repeat purchaser. So far, I am still looking at the Deals Direct emails every day. I have been very happy with all my other purchases.

Not really satisfied TBH. I received most of my items after a week or two but called up today as I still hadn't received something.

After waiting for ages I spoke to someone who informed me it had sold out. I asked why I hadn't been contacted within the last 3 weeks to advise me of this. He stated I was on a list to get called.

I get the feeling that if I hadn't realised the item was missing they would have been happy to keep my money.

Also, if I have been charged for something and not heard anything for 3 weeks I expect the item I paid for to arrive. I could understand if they called me up the day after my order and said "Sorry, there's been a mistake". If three weeks have gone by it's a bit too late to say "We've sold out and won't be getting more in"

I've spent over $600 with DD and referred several friends to their site however I won't be shopping there again due to the poor service received.

  • Tim Tams, wherefore art thou Tim Tams?!

Looking forward to my giant box of Tim Tams so I could eat them all and then weight myself on my new set of scales. Disappointed. Did anyone get them?

I bought 2 size 40 pants for my younger brother only to find out he's size 36. Anyone wants to get the 2 pant off me? I am in Melbourne

    • No, sorry don't know anyone that size. My sister in law made some life-size toy dolls to dress up with some outgrown favourite clothes of her grandchildren, and they hide in the corners at their house. Bit unusual, but I guess keeps her happy. One lady I worked with bought an old (male) manikin that she took pleasure in dressing up in her husbands clothes for company too. Bit freaky; I don't know, but yet again, if that kept her happy! If they were cheap then perhaps donate them to Vinnies, Red Cross or the Salvos etc; am sure that someone out there could make good use of them, perhaps the money going to a good cause.

      • I am not the creative type, not into sewing or other girly stuffs. Might just donate them to Salvos or something. Thanks :)

I've just spoken to live chat support and both my items ordered july 2nd and july 6th have been back ordered which were in stock at time of purchase. No notification of this happening and the representative has no idea when the products will be available.

If you ordered something and have no received it I would find out if they back ordered your purchase.
