Philips DCB291 DAB+ Clock Radio with Bonus Urbanears Bagis Earphones for $129 at Myer

80

Was looking for a new DAB+ Dock/Clock radio for the bedroom and came across this deal in Myer.
Dock reduced to $129 (the cheapest price I could find on line) and I then noticed in the small print it also comes with bonus Urbanears Bagis earphones (which appear to sell for $30-40 most places).
I also had to point out the earphone deal to the Myer staff as they were unaware of the promotion.
Note: the dock has the 30pin apple connector.

  • Does the clock radio have a headphones jack?

  • Haven't taken it out of it's box yet, however I don't think it does. Earphones working fine at my desk to drown out the drivel of my work colleagues though….:o)

  • 30 pin, so it is a superseded model on clearance. Would have been a better deal if 30% off promo code WINTER30 didn't expire yesterday. How did I miss this dock btw :(
Edit: looks like on sale but not under clearance

  • The Winter 30 promo didn't apply to this dock. Tried it yesterday.

  • Does it have weekdays and weekend alarm features? I bought iHome for $180 from Costco.

If it does, may be its time to benefits the membership that i have been paying for the last 3 years without returning anything.

    • Just checked the manual - it does have the ability to set the alarms (there's 2 available) for either the full week, or weekdays or weekends.

Also has a clear plastic rear support to allow you to dock your Ipad if you fancy.

Never know when you'll need some rear support…

  • I recently bought a SoundFreaq Sound Rise Bluetooth clock radio dock from Myer for about the same price. Doesn't have DAB+ but has the 30 pin iphone connector as well as a USB connection which allows charging of any phone. Also has dual alarms

  • Looks interesting. For those who have one, some questions please:

How long is the Snooze button set for?
Are the presets easy to recall?

    • According to the manual the alarm snooze period can be adjusted from 5-30min intervals depending on how many times you press the button.
For radio presents, it's just a case of pressing the +/- preset buttons on the unit or remote to go through them.

      • OIC. Actually I didn't want snooze for the alarm, but snooze to turn off the radio.

I like to have the radio on when going to sleep, and have it automatically turn off after say 30-60 minutes. Can it do that?

        • +1

Yes, it has a 'sleep' function with different time intervals to choose from.

Thanks for the info. Bought one!

I have one, it's great, paid $170 for it. Now I have an iPhone 5 so it's now in the cupboard. I should sell it I guess.. The DAB was really, good and the sound was sweet on this unit, for the price.

  • Visited Myer Sydney store, no bonus Urbanears Bagis earphones. Where did you buy it from? Would you mind posting bonus receipt came with docket?

    • Brisbane CBD. Tell them to check their own website. Bonus offer is noted at the bottom of the item details section. Brisbane staff called the online shopping support team to confirm deal as it didn't show at the register initially and they were not aware of it either.

      • I could not locate bonus offer on website. They might remove it.

        • Just checked. Offer is still showing on website. Last line noted under the Details tab.
