I need some gloves but find the same thing cheaper on ebay for $12.86 whereas yours is $20 (prices when including shipping) http://compare.ebay.com.au/like/140956663608?ltyp=AllFixedPr…

Feel free to make your purchase from them :). They are based in the United States so shipping could take 2-3 weeks but if you are happy to wait then I'll suggest getting it from there and you can save some money.

      • +12

Yeah i'm happy to wait, it's ozbargain not ozfastshipping.

*Is this really the best price on the web?

Rather than letting potential business out the door you should at least offer something to counter offer. ie: 10-20% discount. Your reply seems very arrogent and not professional at all.

        • +2

It did not seem arrogant and unprofessional to me. Sometimes, a retailer simply can't go any cheaper without selling at a loss. This might be one of those items - hence, their response as a seller. The seller doesn't have to bow down to all the demands of the customer, they're here to make money after all.

Sure, it helps if they have a competitive price but some people are willing to pay and some aren't. It's not potential business if they're selling at a loss.

Posting a sale, but no bargains mentioned… This is not an advertising website.

Its the arrogant attitude of local retailers like this and keeping their prices up that makes me want to buy from overseas.
FYI I got my gloves from USA in under 10 days.

    • -2

I've always been happy to work with people but there's times when I just simply can't do anything more on pricing. Have a look at my previous Ozbargain deal for some reviews:
      http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/71137

In regards to attempting to price match an eBay listing in the USA that offers international postage for USD $2.16 it's just impossible. Before postage their price is USD $9.50 ex tax = AUD ~$10.48 so we'd be cheaper. I'm sure most of you are aware of the actual cost of posting an item in Australia well exceeds that amount many times over.

I guess it is tough trying to compete with a US based business when most of our supplements are manufactured/distributed from the US but I do understand you guys want the best possible price ever, so I try my best :)

RE: The comments from JV in regards to this posting being SPAM and not offering genuine bargains if you'd look through the sale page there are many products that would constitute as a 'bargain', as they are being sold under our cost price.

Yep I buy my sups online as well from the US, I receive the goods in less than a weeks time, not in 2 - 3 weeks as the rep mentioned. It's cheaper even with the added international shipping cost than from your site. Pretty arrogant attitude I would have to agree with Sammyboy.

Nothing against buying local products really, it's just about getting the cheapest available. That's why we're here in this site for, to look for the best bargain.

    • +1

Agreed, I buy mine online also and nothing has even taken more than a week to receive. Postage is usually $9 or free also… I'd love to buy from Australian companies, but the savings when buying more than one product can make it impossible to find remotely competitive pricing within Australia. Can't say this rep is different in his attitude, usually if you enquire about matching prices its an immediate "just buy it from the US or ebay then" attitude… so I don't think its just his particular case… maybe they are just very tired of having their prices questioned… unfortunately final price IS the major decider for most of us when choosing a seller

    • Mr Burns.
I agree, we are here to get get the best bargains,
So if you found an even cheaper price from say China, would you prefer to buy from there instead?

      • +1

Probably needs to add reputable supplier, then all systems go!

      • I thought it's already self explanatory, I guess I was wrong. When I said cheaper, ofcourse it should be from a trusted source as well. I remember I did mention I order my supps from the U.S. I don't think anyone in their right mind would buy anything you'd take in your body from China even if it's 50% cheaper. Or would you?

        • Considering most of the ingredients in supplements will be manufactured in China, you already are.(I'm not saying this is a bad thing)

    • Good post.

Exactly why we're here, to get the best bargain.

Also, I get items shipped from US in about 7-10 business days.

    Tough crowd.

*ive decided to delete my comments questioning past negativity about buying from OS sellers and delivery times etc etc
I've noticed that speaking your opinion only gets you negative votes if you don't agree with the flavor of the day.

  • +1

Supp direct has been good to me in the past, was only a few $ difference from the US price at the time and they threw in a shaker. No idea if this is a deal or not but thought id pipe up on their customer service,
    cheers!

  • +2

I have nothing to do with this… But seeing as you'e so heavily spruiking the posting guidelines, you all might also want to read the guidelines for Negative votes:

"if it's cheaper elsewhere but won't reach everyone the original deal covered, please mention this but do not vote negative for this reason. Likewise comparing a price to a price from an overseas location, is good to point out, BUT not appropriate for a negative vote."

To be fair, some of the prices are actually quite good. Vitargo S2 5kg at $138 is a great price, same as the Jack3d Micro at $35. Just a shame shipping is extra on top which kills a lot of the savings unless you buy a number of items.

I purchase regularly from Sportys and Vitamin King here in OZ. So I do support local supplement suppliers. Vitacost and iherb and surprisingly Amazon for other supplements. FYI most of the raw ingredients in our supplements do come from China. A quick search in Google for glutamine and China will show a lot of suppliers!

That general "well thats a nice price go buy it from there comment" is what I can't stand. Its happened to me even at JB Hifi in Knox which are impossible to bargain with. Showed them a newspaper clip out of a Myer ad for an LG PVR and he said nice price you should buy it from there. So I did, then came back, showed them and said you lost a sale.

In a more extreme case of arrogant customer service, there was a guy who copped the same treatment here at Porsche Melb, I believe, so he went to Ferrari, bought one, drove it to Porsche, spoke to management and showed them that they missed out on a sale. Naturally they weren't too happy with their sales guy.

  • Bio X Xtreme Power Whey complex 2.3kg for $77
    Cyborg Spory whey 3kg $90
    Infinite labs pro 100% whey 2kg $74

Haven't tried these ones, but for the size and price, it's not bad at all.

Suppsrus recently had a really good sale. Unfortunately I was too busy to inform you guys. Sorry.
