knowing no code seems silly. it is like being an engine mechanic without ever knowing how an engine works

      Good day Matt
Do you know how to write postscript from scratch?
I assume you dont, nor is it needed… thats what Adobe illustrator does for you
My students and I build websites for over $30,0000 - not writing ONE SINGLE line of code from by hand.
Learn to let Dreamweaver do all the heaving lifting and code writing for you my friend. Software is nothing but a tool… master your tool and life is a breeze… and you will make money and work smart
This is 2013… why are you still writing HTML and CSS code?

Good HTML/CSS ensures cross-browser compatibility, adheres to web development standards, is more optimised for search engines, works better with screen readers/facilities for disabled and generally makes websites load much faster and work more efficiently.

Plus if you're good at it, you can output stuff almost as quickly as rapid development tools, with the added understanding and knowledge of how it all works if you need to customize/change anything.

I would question paying $30,000 for a website built by someone without the basest of basic understanding of web design.

        • someone who does this for a living.

my students are taught great web design and all my sites come up on the 1st page of any google search - your statements hold NO WATER - Im 100% not hear to argue with you - its obvious you dont like software tools - so good for you- I 100% wish you well writing code by hand - but dont ruin it for the millions of people that choose to WORK SMART and use the most in-demand and advanced web app development tool - Its called Dreamweaver. Please I respect your opinion - but lets close this matter ASAP, for me its a NONE issue- Carpe Diem - and good luck to you Robert

PS: I have personally built websites for over $170,000 using Dreamweaver 100% - of course i know how too write code, Ive been building websites since 1992-93 - when you had to do it all by hand in notepad - way before MS Frontpage (A Joke) or Adobe Pagemill - I also write code in Python, C++ and Java - But why would I want to continue to write HTML5 and CSS3, PHP, javascript and jQuery by hand when DW does it all - point and click… its called progress my friend - embrace it - Im all about making money and getting paid… not wasting time and writing code by hand - ;)

Dreamweaver generated code is certainly not SEO friendly. Search engines drop ranking for decreased speed and unsemantic code. HTML isn't that hard!

why dont you do a simple google search - my sites over 900 of them are on the very top of the list - with all due respect - you are 100% incorrect - all DW does is write code - pure html and html5 code and css rules- put it does it in a very simple point and click environment. Why do you want to write code from scratch when DW does it for you - You you want to WRITE CODE or do you want to make money? My training works… and my students MAKE MONEY - Carpe Diem - Robert

    • Dreamweaver is simple an html editor that writes code - you can choose to write code from scratch in DW code mode or build using WYSIWYG - point and click and write the same some - Im sorry but you dont know what you are talking about - If you enjoy writing code from scratch - Im happy for you… But why are you on a Dreamweaver page if you dint like dreamweaver - Please try to have a great day - all my best - Robert

I find it ironic that your sprawling misinformed responses are a fair simulcrum of the bloated code produced by GUI web editors such as Dreamweaver.

  • If it was free, I might give it a +ve…

    • Good day JV…Im glad to hear from you… You stated if it were FREE? If it were free - I would not make money - therefore Id have no time to teach you a marketable skill That will make you money. hey JV… do YOU work for FREE?
