    • They have different weit loads. The kogan one can hold 3kg whilst that one can only hold 275g.

  • Unlike the ebay links above, these aren't just a regular mini tripod, the point of the flexible design is to allow you to mount the camera in locations where a normal tripod would be no use.

    eg.

    [this] (http://cdn2.bigcommerce.com/server5900/00cb3/products/201/im…)

    [or this] (http://admintell.napco.com/ee/images/uploads/appletell/goril…)

I work with cameras and own 3 Gorillapods of varying size and wouldn't travel without them.

Although its worth noting that this is obviously a cheaper knockoff version of the Joby Gorillapod (which can run anywhere up to $100) and im not sure i would trust hanging a few thousand dollars worth of DSLR body and lens from a tree branch on this $9 piece of Kogan equipment. But should be fine for a little point and shoot cam.

    • I second that thought, wouldnt trust it to hang my slr but it sure is useful for hanging speedlights. This 3kg would suffice, where as the 300g wouldnt handle it.

  • Considering this one after missing out on the other deal

  • 9 bucks is fair - thanks OP

  • you must be nuts to risk damaging your expensive dslr & lense with this thing

  • website says $19.00? where's the $9 option?

  • Mine just arrived today, fast shipping and not a bad product for $9. A few noticeable differences between this and the genuine gorilla pod, the main thing being that the Gorilla pod has a detachable "baseplate" which you can screw onto your camera which makes for easier attaching and detaching, on the Kogan model the screw thread is built into the top of the tripod, not a huge deal but depending on what you use it for (eg. speedlite) it can make a difference when your detaching and reattaching 20 times a day.
