Sydney Trip Aug'13 First week for 3 days - Tips on accomodation and places to visit

Dear fellow OZbargainers,

I m planning to visit Sydney from Melbourne during first week of August for 3 days. I m travelling with wife and 1yo infant.

Any advise on places to visit and accomodation?

Ideally would like to have accomodation with small kitchenette or kitchen so that can cook something.

I don't wanna be smart, but I think TripAdvisor might be a good place to start as it's hard to know what, where, and your interests. TripAdvisor may be more inspirational for you to start. Look at the forums, these questions have been asked many times.

obviously harbour bridge, opera house are the big attractions.

Visit the Rocks area near circular quay. Take a guided walking tour to learn about Sydney Coves history.
