        I should really compare like with like. The link above is of a 500ml La Mer. 500ml is a pretty atypical sizing for luxury facial skincare.

        Here's a roughly 50ml product from La Prairie for $1000+.

        Both of these brands are quite popular. Whilst most of their customers aren't necessarily buying the ones I've linked, there are many people willing to fork out AUD400 for a 50ml jar of La Mer. People are sold on the promise. Good marketing and packaging helps a lot too!
