    1600 lumen - manufacturers rating

    • +15

      Chinese Lumens

      • +3

Divide by 4 for the maximum real lumens.

        • just the same as Chinese mAh for batteries

        • I have this torch and many other ones, all better…

The reality is this torch would be lucky to push 400lm, personally I would say mine is more around the 250lm mark… better off just buying a cheaper/smaller sipik sk68 than wasting time/money on this thing..

  • anyone have any feedback on banggood

    • +3

I bought a coat from them. $30 or so. Shipping is what you'd expect from China. Wait a few weeks, and you'll most likely get it.

      • +8

I have bought 3 torches from them all arrived all good

    • -1

They are OK, the torch in question is rubbish..

    • I bought one of these (similar) months ago.. Never got them damn thing. I haven't chased it up as it was another LED torch purchase for about $3. Dunno if it was them or dodgy postal service.

  • +4

    Cheapest I've seen for a T6.

  • +1

Ordered one, AUD 7.48. Last thing I bought from them arrived quite quickly, just 2 weeks.

  • what makes this better than say this.. http://www.banggood.com/UltraFire-12W-CREE-T6-1800Lm-Zoomable-LED-Flashlight(1+18650)-p-71227.html ??

    • +1

Description mentions '5 modes' vs '2 modes'. Also mentions waterproof. And is slightly cheaper and has more ratings from buyers. So: better marketing ;-)

  • +1

Rep, can you do a special on a couple of 18650 rechargeable batteries and charger as a bundle?
Actually, this exact one would do if you can do a discount:

Or this one with the car charger:

HAHA,you can use the same coupon "lollol" to 12% discount for these two (limited quantities)

      • Do these chargers stop charging once the battery is charged, or do I need to make sure I take it off as soon as it goes green?

        • All lithium ion chargers need to be "intelligent" and stop (or change their charge method) when battery is charged - if they don't, the batteries will explode and your house will burn down.

Worth noting I have had one cheap eBay charger (not this one and not bought from here) explode so far so don't charge them in a flammable area.

+1 for actually listening to what customers want!
        EDIT: Purchased one :)

  • I'm trying to buy one and have delivered to Australia but it keeps saying "Can't deliver to China" I'm in China right now so my IP will show this but I want to deliver it to my home in Australia, how can I do this please rep? I have already selected Australian delivery address.

Oh,really sorry for the inconvenience, could you please drop me an email via [email protected]?I will try to help you out.D:

      • Thanks Aaron, just got over the border to HK and I was able to purchase from here :) my 5th torch purchase in 2 weeks….I think I have an addiction

        • +1

See you at budgetlightforum.com then :-)

    • +3

If you're in china already you should just do pick up, maybe save a dollar or two

      • +8

haha, you talk as if china is one city.

        • lol,you can say that again.

      • joke?

  • Very good price for a T6.

I have found all of my dealings with Banggood to be banging good. (honestly) !

  • i have one of these and it is a BEAST! the zooom mode can make the torches beam reach 300 metres and when not zoomed it will light up any room it is like a cars headlights. i pay $10 for mine from bangood

  • why do I keep getting the We are updating this website, sorry for the inconvenience message when I try to open the link??? I'm I the only one getting this?

  • +1

I can't believe it… I just bought one. This is my 17th torch.

What is wrong with me? I have some sort of torch addiction.

    Help!

    • +3

17 torches? Strap them to the front of you car and have ALL the lumens!

    • There's a name for your addiction, you can now claim to be a flashaholic.

All the addicts meet at candlepowerforums.com, keep away from there if you want to cure your addiction.

      • Or come to budgetlightforum.com if you want a friendlier bunch of people, not a dictatorship

  • excuse my ignorance but same site, for $2 get extra 200lm?

    http://www.banggood.com/UltraFire-12W-CREE-T6-1800Lm-Zoomable-LED-Flashlight(1+18650)-p-71227.html

    • The lumens rating is manufacturer rated, same with all these cheap torches, most of the time its completely overrated number. So in reality there's unlikely to be 200 extra lumens, the manufacturer is just trying to make it sound more appealing. The "1600 lumen" torch we have ordered here for example is probably only half that (or less!) - but that's still plenty! And none of this is putting down the site or the torches, I love my cheap 900,000 lumen torches!!! ;) Thanks Banggood!

      • Well really so is everything. Look at apple or sony claiming 630 hours of standby battery life for their smartphones or some other outrageous lab result. Does anyone get close to that in the real world? I doubt it.

      • If you've bought anything from China before you know specifications released by the manufacturer or vendor cannot be trusted.

The only thing you can just about trust is the price tag, things like Lumens, battery capacities and specifications of tablets/mobiles are usually exagerrated.

  • Thanks, added another one to my collection of useless usefull torches. So far the only torch i have bought that is being used often is the head mountable one from a while ago from Tmart, if i could get something like a led lenser or equivalent head mountable cheap that would be great.

  • Excellent torch and service. Bought three last time.

Just be aware these torches don't have memory between the modes. When you turn the torch on, it will cycle to the next mode, not the one you left it on!

    • +1

Mine always goes back to the highest setting. After you leave it for a minute

  • these are good but the 5 mode thingy is crap!!
why cant they just make on/off

    • They can and do, you just have to buy a different model.

The five modes (at least the high, medium and dim modes) are there to give you a balance of brightness when you need it (high mode), and longer runtimes when you need that (medium and low modes).

Most torch users would agree with you that the flashing modes are useless. I think they just add the extra two flashing modes so they can claim a small price premium on three-mode torches. Three mode torches are actually quite rare, probably because the store managers say "Who's going to buy a three-mode torch when everyone else is selling five-mode torches? Buy the five-mode torches".

  • bought the last torch deal from banggood and never arrived… emailed to chase up and no reply…

  • damn i paid more for this a few months ago when they was 11% off.

  • I have more than enough of these torches by now. I am looking forward to a deal on some good cheap headlamps.

  • thanks OP!

  • regarding the mode memory switching. Other similar torches keep the mode when turned back on after a couple of seconds. This one moves on to the next mode. Even if pulling the battery and replacing it will move ahead.

on an unrelated note. AAA doesn't do justice to it's capability. Any ozbargainer equipped with knowledge on 18650? After the cheapest charger and battery that's safe to leave overnight.

    • +4

Nitecore i2 if you're after a decent (and cheap) 18650 (actually also AA/AAA) charger. I got mine from eBay for $15, so shop around for the best prices. Review here

It does only charge 2 batteries at any one time, but there is a 4 slot version called the Nitecore i4.

Trustfire apparently also makes a fairly decent charger but I'm unsure of their battery quality.

If you want a quality battery look for Panasonic and Sanyo branded ones (get via Deal Extreme or Fasttech) but try to avoid the Ultrafire (generic) brands as they not only lie about their capacities, they also tend to be poorly made (unsafe) to use. Expect to pay around $11~15 for a pair of good quality cells. You might also see some '3100mah' cells that are selling for cheap but these tend to be fake — genuine 3000+mah cells are quite pricey

      • You beat me….. 7 mins damn.

      • Thanks muchly. Could i go unprotected on a proper branded for overnight charging in say something trusted like the i2?

Also is the mode problem just me? Never seen anyone explicitly complain directly about it

edit: one more thing about this torch. Any 18650 users know if it self stops as to not over discharge on unprotected?

        • +2

A good charger should have it's own built in protection circuit. Most chargers will have over-charge protection and will automatically terminate charging once it detects the current drop, but you should not take chances and leave the battery charger on overnight (rare as it may be, protection circuits might not work correctly and fail to terminate the charging).

          edit: More clearer information:
Also read http://www.britishblades.com/forums/showthread.php?63505-Tea… for a bit more info about protected cells and unprotected ones.

        • Thanks sounds good. From further reading I think ill go protected, guessing this cheap torch doesn't have low voltage protection.

bummer about no overnight charging. Will have to think on it

        • bummer about no overnight charging. Will have to think on it

Get a HPM countdown /Jackson powersave from Bunnings or Officeworks. Problem solved. You press a button to switch it on for a specified number of hours/mins, and it turns off when the time's up.

      • Other option is to purchase LSD AAA's instead, for example http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/109189
Roughly $2 each so you'll need 3 of these which comes to $6 for an equivalent 18650 battery with LSD and 3 x 900 = 2700mAh.

    • +1

Well NITECORE-I4 is best for that but not really cheap, you can get I2 version for 2 battery cheaper. For the review online it is very good for all around battery charger and can charge almost every battery include Eneloop and Turngy and very safe as far as I can see.

      • It's not the best, but it's also the one I use…it's not bad, just a bit slow (which isn't such a bad thing, prolongs life of battery with less temperature from slower charging)

  • Hi Rep, any chance of doing a deal on this:
    http://www.banggood.com/Wholesale-UltraFire-CREE-Q5-300-Lume…

    • +1

Good idea, maybe next time I will choose this one, thank.

  • It's pretty funny , I'm traveling home here in Pakistan and my brother had exact same kind of torch for PKR 150 i.e. approx. $1.5 :-)

Edit: btw props to the quality of metal - it's pretty hard and solid. Button quality is just average.

This is what I found last couple days. Good 18650 battery

Trustfire 3000amh with protected $11.70 for 2ea This guy selling geniun protected version according to whirlpool forum.
    http://www.manafont.com/product_info.php/protected-trustfire…

This charger looks fine for me. $23.05
    http://www.manafont.com/product_info.php/nitecore-intellicha…

above battery and charger looks fine and free shipping to Australia from oversea.

I ordered Trustfire because Manafont doesn't have Panasonic "protected" version.I prefer protected version over brand but after I ordered it

I found this Panasonic Protected version.US $19.30 3100mAh (pair) free shipping to Australia.
Panasonic is the best!! I wish I ordered this..
    http://dx.com/p/genuine-panasonic-18650-3100mah-rechargeable…

    Hope it help.

    • I have a similar set of Trustfire 3000mah batteries (no red flaming graphics, just plain black) and they don't quite perform up to par with my Sanyos. One battery dies quicker than the other (obviously very variable quality per battery)

It's worth paying a tiny extra and getting genuine batteries IMO. See the sanyo I mentioned above.
      http://www.fasttech.com/product/1143802-sanyo-ur18650f-18650…

  • Brought one

Can't wait to shine up the whole neighborhood lol

  • +1

Just got this, but too cheap to start a 18650 battery and charger. Can the 3xAAA run it well ? Only occasional use and I have heaps of LSD AAAs and AA from OZB…

    • +1

judging by photos and people's rating of 18650 over aaa it's at least twice as bright over rechargeable and lasts a lot longer.

      i got the nitecore i2 for US$13.26 buyincoins.com 9% off.

check fasttech.com for the widest and cheapest range of batteries. They rate the dodgy brands accordingly and ship free. Got 2 protected 2600mah Samsung for close to US$8 with 5% off code BLF

  • I don't think it was this brand but I bought last deal on zoomable.

Man that thing is bright when you concentrate it :D Was shining off my balcony at people was fun. For some reason I couldn't resist shining it into my eyes either I do not recommend that.

  • Good price, bought a few….

Could it be the start of a torch addiction?…..

    Thank You,
    George

  • Howdy All
Please can you mount this torch on a bicycle?
    Have it got flashing mode?
    Thanks heaps
    Cheers

    • This torch has 5 modes: brightest, not so bright, dim, flashing, SOS flashing.

Mounting this torch is probably a bad idea. It is fairly large and long. Look for the Q3/Q5 models which are much smaller and can still output as much light with the correct battery.

  • I bought 10. Good for presents to the nephews, brothers, etc.

  • Bobbymg, with the right amount of Duct tape, you could mount this torch to a rocket. :p

  • Zingy, is that you? =P

    • No it isn't. Zingy refused to deliver my Q5 months ago and took another month to get my money back. Banggood however, have delivered every time without issue. One occasion took a little longer than expected.

  • What I don't understand is people who tell others not to buy counterfeit XXXfire batteries from ebay/dx/etc but immediately recommend pana/sanyo from the same shops.

I'm genuinely curious as to why you would believe the pana/sanyo batteries are genuine when you are buying on ebay/dx that are notorious for selling fake things (and you KNOW for a fact that they sell fake batteries of other brands ie. XXXfire).

  • Expired. Says 380 codes have been used up.

    • Still works for me…

      • Thank you very much for letting me know! They may have fixed it in the meantime. Just ordered one :)

  • Any good deals on torches that take
    '2 aa' batteries.
    Thanks

    • +1 for that….There were a few that take 4XAA…but they are megabuck$…..but megacool.

      • Ones that take 1 AA are better, well, smaller anyway.

      • Fandyfire Rook (3xAA)
        Nitecore EA4W or Trustfire TR-A9 (4xAA)

The 'bgcree' coupon still works. This is a great $6.88 flashlight.

        • Thank you for those suggestions, I will check them out.

  • has anyone received there torch yet.

    • @raynewbs
      My order arrived this morning…

      Regards,
      George

  • I received mine yesterday. Pretty shitty definitely not the 1500lm as description suggest.

    Guess it's okay though.

  • Anybody else finding it to be a really dull torch? Nowhere near 100 lumens, let alone 1600.
