Why do you keep posting for your friend, especially on this deal?

    • Because he asks me to haha :)

Interesting the regular X230 (non-tablet) sells for $2,219. Good price though.

    • Yeah they just get good prices for some items some times, it's funny like that!

Using the non-tablet/non-SSD/4G RAM X230 version for work. I can tell you its the best laptop I have experienced. The keyboard and display is amazing.

    • Yes the IPS display is great. Just wish that Lenovo will have that on more laptops.

/me waiting for ThinkPad T440S with Full HD IPS…

In case people aren't sure about this laptop/tablet, here's my opinion:

I've got an X230T and I love it. This is a great price for it. Decide for yourself if it will suit your needs. I'm a teacher and write notes for classes in OneNote, or switch to webpages, other programs & documents easily, displaying them with projector while I'm out of the way of the board/screen. No more "Can you move over so I can see what you're writing?"
Great all around laptop in terms of build quality, display, keyboard, features etc, and it's a pretty good tablet too. Wacom pen is great. I'm happily running Windows 7 like this one (Pro version though) and I'm not worried about not getting the full touch experience from Windows 8 - This machine does touch and pen control well in Windows 7.

    • Thanks for sharing your experience with the laptop, good to hear about what people think about it!

  • Searched on Ebay and there's one with i7 and 128G ssd for $100 more. I reckon I will leave both today.

    • i searched ebay as well, nothing comes uup like this cheap…

    • Mily, I think the one you were looking at is ex-demo.

      • Right, didn't read it carefully, although the ebay condition states "new, never used". That makes sense.

  • Still want to figure out reference description: Brand new and Seal Opened?

  • Bought one this morning, hope it arrives soon.

    • My order arrived this morning, with everything as described, except because this is a CTO model, the 3 year warranty actually started on 07/Dec/2012, so only less than 2.5 years warranty. Besides that, everything seems perfect to me so far (after half hour usage). Very nice machine for the money.

The good thing is the warranty is an upgraded Thinkplus warranty which include on-site service. Now just wondering given the fact the machine is brand new and never be used before, is there any chance Lenovo could start the warranty from today?
