J Crew Free Shipping (Save $10) or Save 40%

20
AUFREESHIP;STYLE40

Saw this being promoted on twitter. Just posting it and hoping it helps other ozBargainers. I don't think I'll wealthy enough to buy this label.

Just use the code AUFREESHIP to get the Australian shipping for free, normally a flat rate of $10.

Also, you can use STYLE40 to save 40% on sale items, not sure if the two are stack-able.

Edit: Not stackable so please choose wisely.

I don't know if J Crew still does this but they used to hugely inflate the prices on their international site. For example a shirt would be $40 with a 30% coupon available on top on their US site, the same shirt would be $90 on the international site and you can't use the coupon.

Back then I emailed asking how the shipping was "free" when they have more than tripled the prices. Got a pretty arrogant response and haven't been back to their site since.

    • yeah they still do that. A US$45 shirt is AUD$65 when you change the shipping destination.

    • Found the email they sent me:

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. In line with many global brands, the prices of our products vary depending on where an item is purchased. Our pricing takes into account the costs of doing business internationally, which vary significantly country to country. Most importantly, J.Crew prides itself on always offering the highest quality and craftsmanship in our products, and our prices are reflective of the value we deliver in the context of each local market.

I found it amusing how they consider themselves a "global brand" and the arrogant attitude with which they justify their lack of transparency/hidden costs/misleading advertising.

yeah that is crap, will boycott them. shame because they have some great stuff.

  • Good deal if the 40% can be stacked they have a good sale on atm

    • I couldn't get it to stack when I tried it, I guess the 40% off is generally a bigger discount than $10 off.

  • Thats a shame. I guess $10 is fairly reasonable for shipping to Aus anyway. some nice deals on the shirts and they have a tall range which is something that is lacking here.

Just had a look and they are inflating their prices if you use their Aus site - $8 boxer shorts mysteriously become $18, so even with the coupon, not that much of a bargain.

    • anyway to get around it?? what a scummy practice

  • Macy's department store is the same.
Having lived in the US, it is not an ultra expensive brand. Probably comparable to sports craft here.
