Friends don't let friends buy Bose.

  • Yes, Bose is overpriced. But this used to be $1,099 until they dropped the RRP about two months ago. The sound is quite impressive. The price reduction to $799 made it more realistic, but an extra 10% discount should now make this worth listening to for anyone considering a quality 2.1 system.

    • This is the old cinemate smaller system. The Cinemate GS Series II is now $799 down from $1099. The cinemate listed on David Jones is just the basic one that has been $799 for a while now.

How is Bose a bargain ever?
    Overpriced and mediocre quality.
By buying Bose all you are doing is paying for a brand name.
You can find a $200 setup that will perform as well or better.

    • Are you that guy that says "why would you buy Apple!?"

For Bose, this is a bargain - so I think it's valid.

      • Its not even cheap for Bose, there are other sellers cheaper. 10% of Bose is no bargain. 50% maybe.
I own an iphone, ipad and a macbook.
Apple is expensive but makes great products, some of the best in the industry.
Bose makes mediocre products in its industry. Functionally they were once good, but the quality was never there.

How is Bose a bargain ever?

As per all bargains…… When it is significantly cheaper than it's normal pricing and other competitors….

Arguments about worth are not really relevant and are little more than personal opinion/taste

      • I agree when its "significantly" cheaper.
10% off RRP overpriced junk is no bargain.
Bose is never that cheap, they control their retail pricing.

  • Sometimes we do buy brands; just like cars/TV etc. Samsung is considered a good brand. It's quality is not better than non branded ones.
