Don't forget to buy hydraulic fliud with these jacks. They come empty. I had to drive back to the shop when i bought the smaller one sometime back

I don't think that would lift most cars high enough to get the wheels off the ground.

  you'd be surprised. i have the smaller 1400kg one and it lifts my car.

  It does. It lifts as high as any other jack around that isn't a 4wd one or larger jack. The arm goes vertical. And the whole thing is a lot bigger than you think from the pics. It's actually really heavy to lift.
