You can try the codes WELCOME10 or COMEBACK10 or BUYME10 which seems to be hit and miss for people for additional 10% off. I have unfortunately never had any luck with these coupons except on the mobile version of the site BUT postage is always calculated much higher on the mobile site than the full version. Some people also mention that it works for them only if they spend $150 or more. If anyone has a definitive answer please advise!

Any idea how hard installation would be?

    • Very easy. As long as you can get an adapter between the radio and car radio connector.

Or you can cut the existing connector and replace permanently with the radio connector (this is what I did).

  • Some comments in the link provided by OP have said that the phone obscures the controls / display (probably designed for a LHS drive?).

    Still very tempting though…

    • One of the reviewers on that link posted photos of his/hers post installation so you can check it out

    • I'm trying to stop myself from buying it!

A shame it only has analog radio.
Its 2013 Philips! This is still depending on 1930's FM technology.

The extra stations are worth a lot, as well as avoiding powerline interference on AM stations like radio national.
(a problem when trains run down the middle of the freeway.)

looks like this is aimed at people who collect/buy their own music and don't want to listen to hughesy's shithead voice first thing in the morning.

Who cares about digital radio when you have online radio apps like TuneIn and IHeartRadio. It's been over a year since I've listened to normal radio.

      • +1

        Don't forget Pandora :)

        • I'm not a fan of Pandora…. I prefer IHeartRadio more

      • yes, that is another kind of digital radio. But 3G data reception is not as reliable while driving as DAB in the metro area. Or as cheap. The quality may not be as good, depending on the station's bandwidth. It would be nice to have both.

        • I don't know who your 3/4G provider is, but I'm with Telstra and have never had issues with IHeartRadio.

        • I'm loving the Telstra coverage I'm getting using Aldi mobile with 5gb that never runs out! :-)

    • Think I would have brought one already if it had digital radio - I find I still listen to the radio every-now-and-then when I'm in the car.

  • Deals Direct has the usual price listed as $149 so $50 saving, not bad.

  • this will be perfect for -> http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/111784

  • Hmm very nice. I was just researching bluetooth stereos yesterday and was about to grab the Sony MEX-3xxx series for $155 but this seems to have all the features I care about + dock!

    • Crap.. ordered the Android version instead of the Apple :( Didn't read the OP properly :|

      • Gotta love 24/7 live help.. cancelled my order so i could order the correct one! nice support :)

  • Bought the Android version. None of the discount codes worked. These have everything that I would look for in a head unit, and you'd pay around the same in stores anyway. Thanks OP!

    • This is much cheaper than stores. Look around, the best I could find was 130 pounds without shipping.

      • Oh sorry; I meant head units in general, not this particular model. They usually sit around $80 - $130+ from what I can tell.

But not with bluetooth, especially one that can do AD2P nicely.. that's why I'd avoid any units without good reviews.

  • Anyone know a cheap installer around Melb. area?

  • Still on COTD for $99 + del. Bought the android version…nice!

    • gone now :/

DD are back to $149 so still better than anywhere else. I'll grab another for my A3 if this goes well in the Passat

  • Decent shipping time. Just picked mine up. Now to put it in my car…
