  • I debate whether I should get this, or a mechanical keyboard…

And then I realise I only paid $5 for my current one and can dream all i like…

    meh…. better off spending $159 for a G19 delivered

    http://www.logitechshop.com.au/logitech-g19-gaming-keyboard.…

the G19S is really just a porn friendly version of the G19

    • +1

It's a good deal for people who wants the G19S but for me i have the G19 and i'm happy with it.

All that has changed is the Coating and the colour of the WASD and arrow keys.

They didn't even bother upgrading it to USB 3.0 and maybe put in a larger touchscreen display as well.

  • Does the black still wear off the frequently used keys like it did on the original G15 (on which I am still typing)?

My F is all gone, dunno why I use that key the most :)

    • +1

No, My G19 is still in perfect condition and my keyboards and things are normally very quick to look worn.

The G19 is pretty useless on its own, there are plenty of cool apps you can get for the G19, I use mine to display computer temperatures, fan speeds, cpu/gpu clock, time/date, download/upload speed, computer uptime etc, all on one screen.

    • How is the 'U' key?

      • The U key is fine?

I don't think the G19 keys can wear off.

    for this price I would buy a G710+ rather than a G19s

  • +2

You can find both the vanilla G19 and G19S for a cheaper price at more than a dozen other retailers:

    Same goes for the G700:

    • Looking at the S versions specifically there's only a couple cheaper, but still as you say that makes this not much of a deal.

  • The G700s is almost a good price. Almost, even at 1/3 off.

  • Does anyone need a keyboard worth $200?

    • We all do.

      • +1

Personally, I need 2Gb of RAM in my keyboard. It buffers 3 days of things I write so I can UNDO all the nasty things I type. Well, maybe not ALL.. :)

    • Not me. I just bought a Tt eSports G1 Meka Combat white mech keyboard for $99 from EB Games. Who needs all these fancy lights and LCD screen on a keyboard. Does the job perfectly fine.

  • Yeah i'd rather get a good mechanical keyboard than pay $199 for this Logitech G19S keyboard which doesn't even have mechanical keys. It's a ripoff even for that $159 price. Such as my Tt eSports G1 Meka keyboard has cherry black keys which is said to be the best for gaming and it's only $99 at the moment.

  • Would rather this, in terms of keyboards…

    • That is, if we're limiting ourselves to non-mechanical, logitech keyboards. Obviously there's going to be a whole range of other KBs out there. :)
