Breville Smart Grinder BCG800 $199 at Myer

100

Just spotted the Breville Smart Grinder for sale at $199 at Myer. There might be a new version of this one coming out soon though, since there's a new Breville Dual Boiler coming out in a few months (BES920).

whats the best option to price match this for the lowest price?

    • Would love to know if anyone manages to grab it for $165 like the last time it was on sale

In case anyone is interested, I managed to pick this up for $195 with 3 year warranty from Harvey Norman.

        • Any chance you can post a receipt to make life easier :)

  • what else did they have on special in the coffee section

  • For what its worth, CHOICE did a comparison in Feb last year of coffee grinders and this one did not fare very well.

Sunbeam Café Series EM0490 was the best with RRP of $249 score of 97% whereas this one got 53%

A bunch of people over here
      http://coffeesnobs.com.au/grinders/31735-sunbeam-em0490-brev…
disagree with the CHOICE comparison and seem to think that the BCG800 is a fantastic grinder.
I personally don't own it, but hopefully will in the next few hours.

Between CHOICE and SNOBS, I'd go with the Snobs on this one.

        • Yup, me too, its why I bought it. That said, I have also owned a EM0490 which I picked up used. They are both fine, but I think BSG is a bit more robust and much more convenient. For retail prices, considering how much the BSG goes for, it might be a tossup, but for this price I would go Breville grinder all the way. I love mine.

  • great price…

  • Sunbeam Conical Burr EM0450 also scored 92% with RRP $139

Coffee snobs people say these are good, if I was to buy a grinder I would go for it at this price. I hand grind using the kyocera cm-45 I picked up at BiG Buys and is highly regarded for $60.

    • Hand grinders are great (I have a hario I use with my aeropress at work) but if you have a bunch of people drinking double shots of espresso, the hand grinding gets old :)

  • Did anybody have any luck getting this item for under $200 recently? I know that the old $165 receipt is a couple of years old and I don't think it could be used to price match. But if anybody had any luck, can you let me know and tell me which store did it for you.
